  • A team's performance is the responsibility of the leader.
But how do we draw clear expectations and a roadmap for development?
This week, Idris and Leon discuss how to measure and also deal with low performance by looking at:
🇬🇧 The failures of the UK's conservative government and challenges faced by Keir Starmer's administration.
🗣️ The art of giving and receiving feedback
👶 Lessons on human behaviour through parenting young children
📈 Shell's controversial but effective way of identifying and predicting its future CEOs
🤑 The value of having side hustles

This appeared on my feed a few days ago. Did not know about this podcast. Idris has this special ability to see right through problems to develop the best solutions. This is innate ability. Great insights. Thank you, sir.

Good Aftn DS Idris & Leon. A remarkable insight dwelling on " under-performers" & hw to win over to produce better performers.
The German Ecinomist Herbert Giersch in 1970s aptly coined the term "Eurosclerosis" to describe a pattern of Economic Stagnation in Europe. Eventhough UK is no longer part of the European Uniin [ EU] it still has to overcome the problem of high Public & Private Debt apart from low economic growth.
In your previous episode [ EP 18] mention was made regarding Innovation as a tool for progression. Analysts mention that UK's Economic Growth has not been able to outpace inflation leading to stagnant incomes etc. Looks like here eventhough Innovation is one of the cardinal points for progress, Strategic Thinking & identifying the True North wil assist for better progression.
Apart frm that from a Humanistic approach towards guiding " under-performers" overcome their weaknesses & focussing on a more Rationale Strategic Approach would guide them to perform better in their jobs/ careers.

The most problematic employees are the Good performers. You can simply dismiss Poor performers and you certainly want to keep the High performers but what do you do with Good Performers who do their jobs but are not able to bring your organisation to the next level?
