    Do mother shrimps hide under thick foliage or in nooks and crannies when they kick out those baby shrimps?

    • @FishKeepingAnswers
      @FishKeepingAnswers  2 месяца назад +10

      There is some anecdotal evidence they do choose to kick the babies out near a safe location such as a pile of rocks or clump of Java Moss.

      So do the mothers lay their eggs somewhere first for them to hatch days later or do the baby shrimp break out of the eggs while still in their body?

    Can someone help me ? I have 30-40 guppies in my 300 litre aquarium tank, with 4 Chinese algae eater that are about the size of 3 inches. I have guppy fry in there as well they are 1-3 weeks old, I have just added 10 red cherry shrimp to the tank, they are semi adults. My question is will they eat my shrimp ? I haven’t seen them attack even my guppies or the babies yet. Someone please answer. I want my shrimps to thrive and grow well. But scared of the algae eater.

      CAEs will eat baby shrimp, but then so will the guppies. Provide lots and lots of hiding places and your shrimp will probably reproduce quicker than the fish can eat them. 👍🏻

    Is it still possible in this day and age to support yourself by breeding fish and shrimp? I really want to do that, but I'm not sure it's a good option anymore...

    • @FishKeepingAnswers
      @FishKeepingAnswers  2 месяца назад

      It’s definitely possible. There are countless people doing it. However, you have to pick the right fish or shrimp for your area and your situation.
      If you have never kept Discus before, maybe becoming a professional Discus breeder is not the right path for you. The same would be true if everyone in your area keepers planted community tanks and you decide you want to breed Red Tail Cat fish.
      I have a video coming out this week on how to start a ‘breeding for profit’ side hustle. Might be of interest to you 👍🏻

    I have some Amano shrimp in a 29 gallon fully planted tank with Java moss everywhere. I hardly ever change the water and I just noticed that their are micro what I believe to be shrimp all over the tank now. If there’s nothing to eat them and there’s enough food in the tank will they mostly all survive?

      Those baby ammo shrimp need brackish water and would probably not survive in the tank 😢
