    As a snake owner I don’t mind their activity levels, but I really can’t recommend them given the amount of care they require I can’t really recommend them over anything else, especially when lizards, terrestrial amphibians and snakes exist
    I love mine sure but still

    I’ve had hermit crabs before and the responses I get from people who have never had them are “All they do is sit there” “They stink to high heavens when they die” and “What do you do with them?”

    Personally, I'm not a fan of axolotls. I don't find them cute, actually - kind of creepy. Additionally, it turned out to be a pain in the ass to keep them... But, good to know info.
    Btw I finally like the countdown))))

    I agree one of the worst things about axolotls in their temperature my axolotl got fungus because of the temperature and I live in a area in my country that it’s mostly desert and it gets to 104 degrees here😢

      @@FishKeepingAnswers yeah, it’s a shame, but at the end of the day if I can’t provide the right environment for the axolotl it would be cruel and unkind to get one and I would feel awful if it didn’t survive. I’ll have to just enjoy my neocardinia and glowlight tetras (separate tanks) :)

      You could try to get chillers! There's three different types: probe chillers, inline chillers, and submersible coil chillers. Probe chillers are relatively cheap but only work well with small tanks.
      Inline chillers are pretty expensive but they have tons of different sizes and do awesome with big tanks, as long as the chiller is sized correctly.
      Submersible coil chillers are the most expensive out of this, but are very efficient with cooling.
      I personally recommend inline chillers! They're pretty bulky and can be noisy, but mine does a great job cooling my axolotl's tank! :)

    Just watching so next time ppl ask I can explain why I'm not interested in axolotls. Fascinating creatures, I'd be tempted to try to make them land animals but I'm 99.9% sure that would end horribly. Countdown timer is better, still keeps me watching but it's not as annoying now.

      Try not changing water maybe

    • @foxbxc
      @foxbxc 24 дня назад +1

      @luigiluigi2098 The Neocaridinas love a stable Environment. Doing more water changes than necessary puts stress onto them. And can lead to Stress molting. Try to check all your Parametres such as Nitrate, Copper. If you use any Fertilizers, Algae Remover or Meds look on the Ingridients if they contain Copper, if they do then dont use them! Also check out if you have any Chlor in your Tapwater if you use that. If you do then put it in a Bucket beforehand and let it get treated with an Airstone to get it out of the Water. After that you can use that Water.

    Axolotls are really beautiful and interesting creatures, but the temperature requirements stop me from even considering them. I live in Florida, and I can barely keep my house at 75f in the summer. Sometimes in the afternoon, the inside temps are around 85f. I'm already turning the lights out on my shrimp tank in the early afternoon, just to help keep them from getting too warm.

    • @Scaredy_Cat-fe6vz
      @Scaredy_Cat-fe6vz 24 дня назад

      Are you aware of proper treatment for fungus? If it's been going on for this long, you should probably contact a vet or up your treatments. First things first:
      -Ensure water is constantly between 60-66 F with no major temperature swings
      -Ensure water is clean and that the aquarium gets water changes at an appropriate frequency
      -Ensure the axolotl is being fed a healthy diet of high-quality pellets or worms
      Treatments for columnaris infections (ALWAYS RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING AND TREATING!):
      -Tubbing with daily 100% water changes.This is most effective with mild cases.
      -Tubbing with daily 100% water changes but with Indian almond leaves/black tea dilution in the water. A black tea dilution is not the same as a black tea bath, so be careful. This is most effective with mild to moderate cases.
      -Tubbing with daily 100% water changes and a methylene blue bath. The dosage needs to be at half the recommended amount to be safe for axolotls, and the axolotl should be in the bath for I think 10-12 hours. I could be wrong, so make sure you look that up. This is for moderate cases.
      -Tubbing with daily 100% water changes and give the antibiotic Furan 2 at half the recommended dosage. This is for moderate to severe cases.
      -As a last resort during systematic infection (we're talking organ failure), the axolotl should be tubbed with daily 100% water changes and given salt baths. Salt baths generally aren't recommended because the salt damages the gills and skin, but this is a very last resort. It can help pull out fluid in the body which takes pressure off the axolotl's organs. This is for extremely severe cases only.

      @@Scaredy_Cat-fe6vz thank u! And well I have been doing 100% water changes in a tub for the past months I’ve done tea baths for 3 weeks then methalyne blue baths for 2 weeks stopped and the just started tubbing and then I did 3

      @@The_real_LMat Don't do any more salt baths - as stated before, they do much more harm than good unless in the case of full blown organ failure. They can burn off an axolotl's gills and skin and make the problem worse.
      I've seen Furan 2 recommended as treatment but have never used it. It is produced by the API aquarium brand and is actually nitrofurazone powder. Chewy (a pet supplies website) says that "The API Furan-2 has no restrictions on the aquarium inhabitants within the aquarium. This medication is able to be used in aquariums containing shrimp, snails, plants, scaleless fishes, and more." Only do what you feel comfortable with, but I recommend first doing methylene blue baths. Having your axolotl tubbed for that long is pretty concerning - what are your temps and water parameters?
