  • Offered for sale is this very rare and attractive Bentley T1 Mulliner Park Ward Sunroof Coupe, a 1971 model in two-tone green with matching leather. This car is a true, original 130K mile vehicle, that has been repainted but remains otherwise unrestored. Very few of these cars were produced, and they commanded a price tag in the stratosphere compared with other luxury cars of the time. Each was hand built and delivered to a very exclusive clientele, and concours vehicles are selling in the six figures. There is no significant corrosion to be found on this vehicle, and it remains an exceptional driver. The air conditioning works well, and the sunroof opens and closes properly. It is an absolute rarity to find a car of this level in unrestored condition, and it is ready for a collection or full restoration.
    Our Mission at Auto Europa Naples is to provide the finest vehicles and customer service to discriminating buyers. Our staff is committed to excellence and we take pride in our vehicles and customer service. Each car in our inventory receives a pre-sale inspection and servicing prior to sale. We can arrange transportation from Ft. Myers Airport (RSW), or assist you with shipping domestic or international. We can arrange financing on most vehicles, including collector cars and exotics. Give us a call today to help you with your next vehicle purchase!

    Bill, you’re so delightful and such fun that I hate to nit-pick, so please take no offence:
    1. This is a very rare Bentley T two-door saloon by HJ Mulliner, Park Ward. Its convertible twin is known as the Bentley T drophead coupé by HJ Mulliner, Park Ward. In fact, chassis number CBH9766 was the last T coachbuilt two-door saloon made. The Corniche appeared 4th March 1971.
    2. The door armrests can be removed, but that is only because they are designed to move up and down, back and forth to adjust to one’s size and be level with with folding armrests on the front seats.
    3. Original paint, fine lines and trim will be listed in the RREC chassis records file in the boot. Original radio, too. The present fine lines are incorrectly painted, and you’ll be able to see if the sunroof is original, in which case the car is even more rare than it already is.
    4. You can start the car in ‘P as this car doesn’t have the old 4-speed Hydramatic.
    5. Glad you had fun with the electric window final travel buttons. The reason these coachbuilt cars had them is that they used Piper window motors, which were very quick and shut quite authoritatively. The final buttons eliminated the possibility of broken finger tips.
    6. I’m sure there’s more and feel free to contact me at jsdesignhk@gmail.com. I’m an Old Rolls-Roycer with many years experience and glad to help you out.

    At the 11:18 minute mark. That is an early Rolls Royce / Bentley safety feature. They engineered it so a passenger’s fingers wouldn’t get caught in the door while closing the window. Thanks for the amazing videos, this is a fantastic channel!

      I actually think you will find those buttons were to stop people cranking the windows up too tight in the convertible. I think they were just used in the Coupe as well.

    • @locoairlines1516
      @locoairlines1516 2 года назад

      @@EnglishLawyer That could be too. I'm personally a Lincoln enthusiast, and that is a fair point because in 1970s Lincolns the power windows can be troublesome if you overuse them, and if you put them up too tight. From my research it's just what I heard about Rolls Royce / Bentley as Lincolns don't have that feature. Mercedes tried hydraulic windows for a while, and that was just a mess!

    1 - The window switches are so you accidentally didn’t take a rear or front occupants finger or fingers off if they’re in it. 2 - The armrests are not “removable” they are actually adjust up or down for your elbow. 3 - They made a lot of these and they’re not or at least shouldn’t be a very “expensive” vehicle to acquire due to the non-exclusivity.

    It’s just a cheap version of a Rolls-Royce. Basically a generic car with no name since 1929. RR just purchased this name as a low end RR. The only difference is the radiator shell, hood ornament, lower quality woodwork, and the letter B on the hubcaps and gauges. I never understood why anyone would buy a Bentley.. Especially now since it’s a Volkswagen with a VW engine.
