- Fresh from an Estate is this gorgeous Rolls Royce sedan, a 1996 Silver Spur Mk IV in a beautiful color combination, all original, and with ultra low original miles and exceptional prior maintenance. Finished in Arctic White and trimmed with piped Saddle hides, this Rolls stands apart from others of the same vintage in terms of curb appeal and condition. The chrome capped wheels contrast beautifully with the car, and trim and brightwork are exceptional throughout. The Connolly leather is in impeccable condition, with rich wood trim and attractive chrome accents. All features and controls are working properly. The 6.75 liter V8 fires right to life and delivers smooth power, and the automatic transmission shifts flawlessly. In every way, this is a top-level example of the final generation Mark IV Silver Spur sedans, and remains in show quality condition with excellent drivability.

A car for a king, still looks spectacular 22 years later. I'd say that it looks better than the car that came after it (silver seraph), it just aged better.
Wearing rose-colored glasses?
I used to drive an older silver spirit. It just makes you feel special. When you park it and return to find people staring into it, when you get someone walk over to you and tell you in the nicest possible way how jealous he is...it just goes on and on. Mine was Prussian Blue with cream leather piped blue with blue carpets . This car had upgraded sport suspension and cornered better than my BMW 740i. I sold it for a Bentley turbo r. I never felt quite the same.
How did you get upgraded sport suspension?
@@garysandiego it came with the car. It was done by the previous owner. I miss this car.
@@naturalroyalflush I often think of getting one. And then I see all the comments about how maintenance is the surest road to personal bankruptcy. It somewhat resonates for me after I bought a used S600. I’ve put 70K miles on it and it’s been reliable, but I recently found out that changing the spark plugs requires removing the 12 cylinder engine. And you need to change a coil for each of the 24 spark plugs. And you might as well replace the engine mounts while you’re at it. So the $5K bill was something I could swing as the car hadn’t been that expensive to run, but it did seem wasteful to spend that sort of money for such a routine repair as changing spark plugs.
@@garysandiego I sympathise with you on that repair bill. I have had four S class models but they were all the older models. I think it is wasteful, Mercedes could definitely do better. The Rolls is much simpler I would say. The dealer and I had discussions about their rather ludicrous service charges. He told me if they didn’t charge sufficient, the clients...being the way they were...would feel affronted. Of course this then passes over to spares. I used private mechanics for used cars(except my Jaguars).
I always bought used luxury cars, believing that you get a lot of car for your money. Ok , the BMW was new and that was mainly because of the leasing. Oh well, my era of wealth is over, thanks to legal changes, so it’s all like a dream now. Being an ex millionaire is no fun. I am an expert at doing highly impractical things but I had loads of fun. I had more fun with the Rolls than anything else.
....as it should be!!
Last of the best Rolls Royce models
I have an 86 Spur and absolutely love it. I drive it several times a week and it always makes me smile to drive. It is a pleasure to drive and rides like no other car.
I am not so much keen on cars he sells, but his videos are pure entertainment juiced with humour I love.
The most car knowledgeable smokers voice on the internet.
I have a Silver Spur....and it take more than “not too much money” to keep them up....but having said that it’s just a wonderful car.....when you want a noticeable arrival this is the car to do it in.
How much does maintenance usually cost?
@@cripto1366 Fortunately the older ones are less expensive than the newer ones. A friend of mine has some Bentleys from that era so it should be somewhat comparable in cost. In general I'd say minimum cost on anything if a mechanic is doing it is $1,000 per job. Some things less obviously but usually those things you can do yourself. Other things are crazy expensive compared to any other "normal" car. Example, a full pad and rotor job on all four tires of say my Subaru would be what maybe $500 if I do it myself? Maybe a few hundred more for any Joe Schmoe mechanic to do and/or even rebuild some calipers. RR/Bentley, figure about $5k for rear tires with caliper rebuild if a technician is doing it. I'm trying to think of some of the other crap he had done. I think he needed a new radiator fan that was over $1,000. The problem is there really is no competition on parts. You are going to have to get through a dealer and there aren't too many and depending on where you live it's going to have to always be shipped to you. Best advice I can give is get the nicest one for the cheapest price and negotiate with the seller to have a mechanic you pick out preinspect it, if you can. It's the hidden little things or the more expensive about to go items that will get you. It helps to ask people that have them because there's a pretty good unofficial list of this or that needs to be done around such and such time that people come to expect. I'd also say any owner selling should have impeccable records that come with the car, if not then you can safely assume everything needs to be done on it. So if no records AND not willing to allow pre inspection then I'd decline the purchase and assume the seller is shady.
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Rocky Orion instablaster ;)
Wana sale.??
The RR is not for rolls royce, it means you got to be Real Rich to maintain it
Heavy doubt.
"It just makes you feel so bloody elegant!" Should be RR's tagline Bill......TRADEMARK it now!
hahaha Yes, would play well here in Australia too
Look at you. Always the best classics.
What I like about the trunk is how unusually low it is compared to most sedans. It reduces a lot of bulk visually. The proportions, balance and profile of this generation Rolls-Royce is ideal looking. If I had the money for a new Rolls, I'd probably by one like what you have instead.
I love old Rolls-Royce's :) So classy
1:30 The RR Merlin engine was also used in the later model American Mustangs .The engine was built by Packard under licence from RR as I recall.
Bill you made it. The Rolls in the front is less interesting than the tiny house 🏠 in the back. You nailed it. The RR fits perfectly to it. Great House. It looks classy and wealthy. Keep the RR. Well, who knows what’s hiding behind the garage? Good luck to you further on with your cool videos. I like them.
@ 16:14 ..I think the adage for RR is not that you have arrived ....but "you have always been there"
I owned a RR ..the life experience was well worth it..The practicality and expense ...talk to you later.
Superb video, love your voice so smooth. I worked for Rolls Royce at Crewe, now Bentley.
@ 1:40 The RR Merlin engine was also fitted to the American Mustang fighter as I recall. The Merlin engine was also used in various other aeroplanes, such as the twin engine light bomber Mosquito. . Anyhow ,please continue Bill.
LOL Love the phonecall interruption Rant at the end. We Love it, Bill!
When I become a multi millionaire. I would still buy this model of Rolls Royce . I really like this model.
This car is just beautiful
Gorgeous Rolls Royce!! Love all the wood trim!!
Such amazing cars ! Would be awesome if you could get a silver seraph to review ! That is one of my favorites. Thanks for the great videos !
What a beautiful automobile... Automotive art at it's finest! ....☺👍
Great presentation as always. Bill
You did a good job on this one. I want a Rolls like this one. I don't need nobody driving me around tho.
Never stop, Bill!
This is the car I want, drive often, and self maintain if I did not have to work ever.
You don’t have to kill sheep for there fur! You just shave them LOL
Perfect! White exterior, beige interior.
RR used to strongly suggest white when sold in hot climates because the AC was so weak. At some point they switched to GM A/C systems with significant improvement.
I love the way you said the past owner drove it consistently over 15 years by putting 5000miles on it. That's less than a mile a day. LOL
Maybe he lived next door to the yacht club?
That's probably less than two fill ups per year, even for a gas guzzler like this.
The most beautiful cars ever!!
I would tend to disagree with that statement
My Dream ? Driving A Rolls-Royce just some minutes in my life ! It should be a pleasure for me ! Thanks !
I wish I could hangout with this dude he seems fun as hell
5:30 so much nicer now with the quality plastic coverings.
the best channel to review cars and make you lose money!
Open the rear door to view the “conceiving seat “
Splendid machine 😊.
great video
The House In The Back ❤
I love the long-lasting vintage slightly modern-looking style from when growing up seeing these. It was unique also you need a smaller guy to get stuff out of the trunk.
Nice to hear someone enthuse about the grandeur and style of this lovely vehicle. It is such a pity that Rolls Royce’s have now become ugly and the domain of the rich and tasteless who try to outdo each other with increasing levels of classless vulgarity in choices of colour and trim, if it’s not mat black everything (including the grill) , it’s such unspeakable hideousness as the body covered in pink velvet , as seen on the net in a certain Middle East country......I hope it gets sold to someone who enjoys it for all that it represents......class!
Benz as well
you have a point. mat grey and black was invented by marvel comics batmobile, a nasty color that looks like primer paint hedious! "class" is denoted by consideration for others..... loud colors are screaming "haha!! i have more $$$ than you!! you suck!!!"
Nice little house you have there Bill...
Apparently selling luxury cars provides a good living.
Beautiful car !
I LOVE that you are so No Nonsense and there is absolutely NO PRETENSE and you'[re prettty funny too.. I lusted over these as a kid in Encino in the 80s. I still would ike to own one just because that's Who I Am...Thank you.
Beautiful RR.
Years later this car still looks classy and turns heads. And yes, even todays models are elegant and i dont bash them.
Modern nodels are anything but elegant. Brute and vulgar come to mind but not elegant.
Ooo look at this thing 😍😍😍
Fantastic car.
Elegance never goes out of style.
Beautiful
Whow that would be the perfect Uber Select for me
Sad thing is RR silver spirit is too old for uber car right now, because They uber required the car that less than 15 yrs old.
Yes ,that is the sad part otherwise a perfect match :}
Uber should make exception for rare luxury cars. I rather ride on this Rolls-Royce than some 2018 benz C300
Until it needs its first repair...which won't take long!
I have the brochure for this....
beautiful spec ....RIP after this model
that is a beautiful car
My dream car.
I had to settle for the 96 Jaguar. Guess you could say that my Jag is the poor mans Rolls lol
maybaches always thought that was Bentley
Elijah barber 😂 well said
maybaches That handles better and is faster lol
aliengoth you do have a point there. Plus easier to find salvage parts as well.
The official car of the British prime minister is Jaguar - not a Rolls.
Love it “if the chauffeur hits his head who the hell cares”😂😂😂.
Back to front... Charles Rolls and Henry Royce.
what an absolutely Elegant automobile , honestly would love as a daily just to drive in sucj comfort and class . if you are driving this even now , you have arrived!
Honestly i would watch this guys videos if he started hes own car review channel, like doug demuros
He did
@ 16:21 - The classic "whine", followed by the exasperated "deep breath" .. .... No one on You Tube is as tortured as Bill!!
It's a flying lady and the spirit of ecstasy is the philosophy Rolls-Royce.
Great review, dealer website seems to be gone. What’s the update for this guy. Great videos
ooooh, la, Bill...this is simply a breathtaking example of a '96 Silver Spur Mk IV....how was Prince Charles? Oh, lovely... ...just a short FYI...though several Scottish cattle gave their all for the hides....the Wilton wool used for the carpeting is shorn from the sheep roughly twice per year...no bah-bah blacksheep died in the production of this fine motor car...
Rolls Royce are still building aircraft engines in Derby and the rest of the world. And they're exploring innovative new technology in electric and hydrogen aircraft engines.
What a nice and quite residential area. Where is that?
Nice car :)
I would buy a car from YOU! Thumbs up 👍
2:55 Too true Bill ..I saw my RR a few years after I sold it in a car park.. It looked like it had been used as a tradies work ute. Very disappointing.
This is what a Rolls Royce should look like. It actually has TIRES. I almost bought an older mid '80s Rolls Royce a few years ago. I backed out when a well known European car specialist told me that they were nothing but trouble, and that many parts were no longer available. I've even heard about people putting Chevy engines in them. I know that's been a thing with Jaguars for some time, I wasn't aware they were doing it with Rolls Royce.
I REALLY wish you would give the price of the car when doing this videos.
Buying is not the point, they are cheap to get. Properly maintaining will strip you naked.
@Joe Mastercue I wouldn't say that this model drives like a truck though there were previous models that made trucks seem nimble. These were ponderous with ergonomics that weren't good. Weird engineering and complex where complexity wasn't justified for any particular reason. Were they "awful".?..well, primitive and unreliable. They often sell for next to nothing for very good reason. Often old men in places like S. Fla. buy them because they don't know better or because one is on their bucket list and time is passing fast.
Most would switch off ..who watches these vids to actually buy a car ?
@tfs2O3 plus qoner resuscitation fees ...
@@wholeNwon That is the best summation I've ever heard of who buys RR in South Florida, cause I'm one of them. !!!!! Lol. Lol.
The beautiful car 😎👌🏻🇬🇧🍾🥂
8:10 the sheeps don’t have to be killed for the floormatts
They do when they're _"sheep skin",_ which I believe these are :(
0:10, the car's a perfect fit for its environment.
The last real Rolls Royce !
"This is the car the Chairman of the Board answers to drives" That just may be the best comment in the whole 17 minutes!
This model is so much nicer than the new RR's. They look a little gaudy. Last model I liked was the Silver Seraph.
🔥🔥
Nice RR
Hahaha Awesome ending!!
Zytek gives no support at all for the engine managment. Better buy a pre-96 one which had the Bosch ecu!
Allmentux that’s correct, however Introcar has gotten very good at repairing the modules
Some of the comments you made are very funny! My favourite was (effectively) that this is the car of the person the chairman of the board reports to. I want to know, having tried to hear by replaying several times, what was the guy who interrupted the video by calling? Couldn't quite catch how you ID'd him.
I wish more tire companies still made white walls.
90s But Better
From far away I’d mistake it for an early 90’s town car. That’s not a bash on Rolls Royce rather a nod to how amazing Lincoln Town Cars used to be!
Lincoln copied RR from the 1970s.
@@BeingMe23 Beyond the grille I don't see it. The cars are quite different.
@@nintendork900 Well its the overall look not perfect copy.
4 ?? I’m gonna get a T shirt with 4’s all over it as repellent
Still think a very well kept and mantained Bently would give you the whole luxury plus handling you could usually ever desire!!
No such company.
Beautiful automobile ! Love your sense of humor. Calling your workers/Team idiots is not a good. Even if you think they are, we who are watching your vid do
Not need to hear it.
Wow
Look. Good
2:33 Lol!! 4 is unlucky number for Chinese not Arabs ... Watdahek!! 4 in Chinese is similar to deadth
four and the multiplication thereof is the number for tribulation in the bible....
It is rhe sound of it wich is similar death-four
I really wish I could buy one but for reasons why I do not know
Well I could buy one I think it wouldn't be the best choice for where I live, where stuff pretty much is not appreciated
If Judge Smails was still alive around the time this car was new. I can picture him driving around in it.
I love air condition in backseat 🌷🥰
great video. but very confused about the IV Roman numeral and its connotation of death, news to me.
Check out the Wikipedia entry for Tetraphobia. It applies to Chinese culture but I don't understand the reference in this clip to the Middle East and IV.
yeah, it doesn't exist in any Middle Eastern culture that i'm aware of.
What happened to Bills arm?
Cheap to buy ..expensive to run ..I owned a RR for 5 years ..still paying off the loans :)
I guess you weren't the first owner. That's the problem with these cars. The original owner can afford to maintain them properly, sometimes the second. After that they are cheaper to buy but expensive to maintain. Upkeep is skimped and they go downhill. I bought a 1965 Silver Cloud III in 1982, as the second owner. I've kept it properly serviced and maintained, and it looks good and runs well. It has also increased in value, from £15,000 in 1982 to £75,000 now.
Hello I from Malaysia I want get that car wow cheap Roll Royce
How much? It's listed on the web site but no price.
If you have to ask, you definitely can't afford it ..so the saying goes.
Nice review, other than all of the "...thank god.." BS! Also, didn't understand your 'comment' about NPR.
simon jenkins - liberal atheist?
Yes😂
You're a pussy I but u drive a Geo metro
Are this reliable ? Im thinking on buying one here in mexico
If you have to ask, you definitely DON'T want one.
