Phil, I agree with you on the non-recessed bridge. I had a Jackson Adrian Smith and it had a surface mounted Floyd bridge and the biggest issue it had was a high E that was too close to the edge and would always slip off, the neck was a bit narrow. Anyway, more top mounted Floyds for us '80s guys!

To everyone who wishes it was a fixed bridge you can block the trem from moving in about 5 min one way is to go in your garage or junk drawer and look for those L brackets that are always getting in your way…grab one one lay it up agents your trem block and screw the other end into your guitar and BAM BOO BAM you have a hard tail….or shove a stack Pennie’s or washers held together with a little tap between the block the guitar and BADDA BING

I've got the Jazzmaster one they sell in that vintage blue, and it's awesome. I've always wanted to own a jazzmaster with a floyd and they're the FIRST company I've ever seen do it with a true, classic jazzmaster body shape. I put in a trem stabilizer (something I do for higher end floyds too) and it helped a lot with tuning stability. I did also have to take my mom's emery board and file one fret that was too tall and fretting out the note behind it, but it was a valuable experience, being my first time doing any kind of fret work. After that, adjusting the action and neck relief, it was perfect. Also, I put fretlook pearloid block inlay markers and old school black witch hat Fender knobs to make it look more like a '66 Jazzmaster, and it's so classy looking now. I love it to death. I don't like the sound as much of the covered humbuckers that come with it I think, but it's its own thing and it's nice for certain sounds. Super awesome, unique and utilitarian guitar. It's my main instrument now.

I really disagree about the heel carve, in this video you say it doesn't do anything but if you play up there with the tradition corner digging into your palm, and then play one with the "ultra" heel, I think it's way better, and objectively makes it easier to reach around the heel. If the heel area of the body is thinner with the ultra-style heel, it's even better.

I just saw Joe Lawlor (Dave Matthews' longtime audio tech) join DMB on stage in Camden and absolutely RIP on one of these in metallic purple. I thought for sure this thing was some boutique maker and he paid at least 2-3K. Imagine my surprise when I researched it and found it to be sub $400. This thing screamed for him and he cleaned up in between little bits of his extended solos - I was blown away by the player more so, but this guitar and the fact that he felt comfortable taking it out in front of 20,000 people was a ringing endorsement. I can't see a better value in an electric guitar than this.

I really like a lot of Guitar Fetish's products, and I want to love their guitars, but it seems like they always have one "feature" that's a deal breaker for me. Their "Slick" rand stuff is right up my alley, but they all have that weird fake relic look. They make a Tele clone with a Gibson-scale neck, but it comes with some of their weird, proprietary pickups that can't be easily replaced. With this, it's that Floyd Rose. I own a couple now, and I've owned several in the past, and we just don't get along. If they offered these with a fixed bridge or a vintage-style trem, I'd be all over one.

I thought people were questioning whether the flame was a stain, not whether it was just roasted. As you pointed out in a recent video, manufacturers like to roast wood to save money in drying it out more quickly, so a reputable manufacturer is unlikely to try and save extra money on faking roasting, *but* are they trying to save money by faking the flame, which is just an aesthetic feature?

I thought giveaways were only open for US residents but the T&C's makes it seem like the rest of the world (with some listed exceptions) are able to join now?

If i win it, (i only have one beat up old focus someone gave me because my ex-wife took all my gear years ago, and i got into a depression. I had BC Rich ST-111 NJ series 86 model, red, kahler Spyder trem system, the toggles, and the little adjustments you could do taught me so much, and it was a shredder super strat, but i wanted to clean fender popping tones that these hot rodded guitar pickups didn't have. Anyways learned to play on it, and got others throughout the years, but my style was a mix of blues, heavy rock, and jammy band, but i never found the perfect guitar, so i had to use several different ones playing in bands, and tune them different, and set them up differently. Now i kust have that one, and some pedals and a few practice amps to use, and im wanting a boss gt multiple effects pedal now to run direct into bands that bring me on as guests player. The last time i brought amp on stage and everyone looked at me funny, with their in ears, and all that, and im like wait i got to hear myself, 😂so the same old story. But if i was to win something i would gladly make a special video about it, and see if i couldn't incorporate it into what im trying to do with the boss gt100

Aren’t you supposed to check the relief on both the high and low E to see if the neck is twisted ?
