Thank you Farah for making and uploading this video. It's unfortunate that the Government finally did not take custody of the place and it was looted. The family was just given an allowance of Rs.500 by the government and this property to live, without running water and electricity. Also, Fish was the Royal emblem of the Kings of Awadh. Hence there was a symbol of fish on the envelope you found.

This girl is so deeply uninformed, that it hurts. She is very much suited to be a news reader on aaj tak. Yes, Cyrus was the last person to be living here but the truth is that their mother, was someone who had this created this mysterious story and plunged onto it for years. They were not the royal’s of Oudh or the last surviving children and grandchildren of the king of Oudh. Their mother kind of coerced both children into this storytelling and lying and they may not have any other option than to follow along. It’s almost astonishing how they would continue to prove their status, write letters to govt officials, persuade many people into believing the story. Mother was definitely someone suffering from mental illness, sense of narcissism and grandeur.
This family originally belonged from Kashmir, woman’s name was Willayat Butt, they were quite active in political sphere of Kashmir before partition. Her husband later became a registrar in Lucknow University, died off early because of big age gap between the husband and wife. Definitely they must have lived an affluent life till then but after death of father, the family had to survive on their own. For a while they also went to Pakistan but it’s not clear at what point the story of princess of Oudh came into picture.
As is for the time spent in Malcha Mahal, Delhi Govt first offered them a residence in posh area of Delhi where other diplomats lived, but Walliyat denied. What same person would want to live in the middle of the forest in a ruined palace. Definitely there’s no water or electricity connection in the fort, as is for the rest of historical monuments in Delhi. The way this RUclipsr choose to ignore the books and other document shows her interest in selling hot story rather than stating facts.

This is how Indian Govt treats its people whose family had Historical value? I am so sad to see this. A broken house with no Electricity or water connection. Imagine, with a heavy heart, how these ppl would have lived here. And they were ppl who fought for India's freedom from the British. Sad. very sad. Somewhere down in my heart, i think we have become so materialistic and so busy with our own identity that we are letting our history die a painful and slow death.

They were not royalty, the mother have mental illness, she was hallucinating and all. I read the story, so many years ago, I don't remember the whole story. The lady in d vid is misleading ppl, by telling that they fought for the independence, that is laughable. The matriarch of the family, screwed life of her two children, just try researching the story. Only in India, we allow so called explorers like her, to roam around and provide half ass information.
