  • In various rooms of my house are rocks, stones and pebbles that I pick up in the great outdoors to bring home as special souvenirs. People sometimes bring me them back from their holidays as well. Here are two tiny pebbles from the beach on Walney Island sitting on my desk and a short film of the day we met....

    Wonderful video! I too collect rocks/crystals when I go to the seaside. I was just thinking the other day that I would make a video of some beautiful Chert that I found in the southwest of England when I lived there. One piece is shaped like a heart...so pretty! There is something really special about gems from the sea! Thanks for sharing.

    I just got back home after catching the sunrise at a beach about an hour away. I caught the sunrise and then walked for 3 hours picking up rocks, fossils and sea glass. It's become such a hobby and I always have my camera with me to get shots of the ones I had to leave behind. :)

    I have a 4kg box full of rocks, I started collecting them since I was 8. Happy to see that I'm not alone 😅. Recently I got a rock that I like but there is a bit of concrete (I think) stuck on it. Does someone know how could I clean it? Thank you ❤️

      Really you are not alone😅,I can relate... Collecting beautiful stones and keeping them close to you..
      And regarding the concrete rub that concrete part in any floor or big rock, it will go away.

    I take them from significant places. I have a Mt. Everest rock, a Hawaiian lava rock, my California beach rock, my rock from a Tibetan monastery, from a medieval German church, and others from less prominent sources.

    When ever I go some where special I search the ground for the prettiest pebble I can find no bigger around than a penny. That becomes my memory rock for that place... I keep some in pill bottles some I keep in my fish aquarium. Some I put round magnets on and they go on my tool box... Some real special ones I carry in a leather pocket pouch... Memory stones have been special to my people for many generations... Be blessed... BBE..

    My family thinks I'm an odd ball collecting stone/rocks/pebbles wherever I visit places. Looking back at my collection is like seeing myself again in that particular place. Besides, they are beautiful to look at.
    I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but how can anyone pass up a natural and colorful thing?

    I have been collecting beach pebbles from all over the world since I was a child. Im a cheap gift as thats what I get as a gift from friends holidays. I have found some beauties. Ones that shine differently especially when wet. I have a fabulous burgandy one that does this. But I need to study gems. I could have a rare one & not know it. I had a grey rock fall out of my bag of rice & when I looked at it... there is a strip of yellow, which looks like gold, running through it. Now that was my luckiest find. I mean... what are the chances of gold in your bag of rice?😃

      Aravind aleX - sometimes you walk right over GOLD and don’t even know it. Yes! You can have treasures right under your feet or within easy reach or view.
      It is not hard or real expensive to learn how to search for these treasures that Nature puts there for you to discover, all you need is someone to teach you what to look for and where these gifts from Nature can be found and, with some effort, you can enjoy finding these for yourself.
      The Gold Prospectors Association of America and other groups that search for Gold or gems and minerals can help you learn how-to and where to find these treasures AND find a wonderful group of folks that love to hunt for treasures with you.
      Online, go to;
      goldprospectors.org
      LDMA.org
      goldhog.com
      You will probably find more than just those websites when you google “Gold Prospecting” online. These sites will open a whole new world for you and you will become more appreciative of the world you live in, and will find many new friends.
      My cousin brought me some beach sand for me to see. If I could find Gold in the fine sand. It was not a lot, but I did find some! You just need to know what and where to look for.
