An Elemental HERO with a clay body built-to-last. He'll preserve his Elemental HERO colleagues at any cost.
Best part about the stream that I’m sad they cut was joseph asked to see the card text a few times especially on the last 2 questions including asking for clayman’s text
WHY am i seeing this copypasta LITERALLY EVERYWHERE
Are you saying he's an Elemental HERO with a clay body built-to-last? And he'll preserve his Elemental HERO colleagues at any cost!?
@@U1TR4F0RCE Lmao that sounds great
Thanks for having me on. Ordering my ultimate rare Mudballmen RN!

Mudballman. Best card. Beats Pend Decks alone, LESSSSSS GOOOOOOOO!
Show proof or cap
Man, it's pretty impressive to know the rulings of an archetype with 7 trillion cards in it.
That Mudballman one was sick. The only reason I guessed it was because of interactions with Widow Anchor.
PSCT knowledge always ends up making or breaking the results anyways.
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 OH does Widow Anchor work similarly?
@@lolaandjoe123 I believe so. You can't steal normal monsters or cards whose effects cannot be negated.
The example I know is that if they try to steal Subterror Guru I can chain Subterror Final Battle and use the 4th effect to make it so Subterror effects cannot be negated. Then Widowmaker does nothing, according to a regional judge at least.
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 Final Battle does not prevent the effects of your Subterror monsters from being negated. All it does is that when your effect would be negated, it resolves normally anyway. If Widow Anchor resolves, by targeting your Subterror monster, it successfully negates the effects of it and therefore it is possible to take control of it.
It's really interesting. Mbt feels like a really seasoned entertainer, so he's able to carry his half of the show. Like, other guests are just playing the game, but mbt pulls his weight in helping to create a narrative. It's really cool.
He does
Welcome to theater kids
MBT acts so wholesome on coders channel. On his own, he brings out the innuendo. Pretty interesting to see
Yeah. MBT knows how to behave with other people's chats. He definitely has a love/hate relationship with his own chat.
To be fair, MBT would've gotten a perfect score had he not second-guessed himself 3 times.
Yes he would have gotten 100% if he had just hit every 50/50 you are right. Good job.

Fun fact: after summoning starving venom fusion dragon via ultra polymerization, you cannot use ultra polymerization's grave effect to summon the fusion materials because the fusion materials listed on starving venom fusion dragon are 2 dark monsters on the field, which the materials in grave no longer are.
This becomes a bit funnier when you remember the only time Ultra Polymerization appeared in the anime, it was used for that play especifically
@@ogeid772 It really is funny, but the card in the anime works differently, mainly it doesn't target the fusion monster for the effect, but the materials themselves.
Same reason why you can't use something like Fusion Reserve on a Pair Cycroid.
@@TheForeverRanger Not really, that is for an entirely different reason.
@@half_blood it's also because starving venom in the anime just uses any two darks, but its effects only apply if he fuses 2 from field
17:24 Absolute meme worthy rulings.
You should get Koty Angeloff on here and ask him token rulings.
he actually said he was planning to do that
you know it's going to be a bad time if someone says welcome to the damage step.
Not if your a flip player or someone with an attack changing effect :)
The neos kluger ruling goes against what you’d want to do in the situation because if it’s destroyed, you can summon neos wiseman and win the game.
Trueee
But you can just opt not to activate the Honest Neos lol, it's not like the Honest Neos is mandatory. Opt not to activate, destroy the Kluger, summon the Neos Wiseman and win from there
@@hirukashiro5995 I guess if you used neos fusion you want to use honest neos.
@@xatuyou8045 what? Why we are talking about Neos Fusion now lol
@@hirukashiro5995 because it’s the easiest way to summon neos kluger
I'm so used to mbt being a giant bungus, but he killed it. Despite missing some questions the ones he did get were sooooo sick
Seperate question: if an opponent monster reborn’s your disk commander, can they activate its effect and if so, does its once per duel effect apply to the opposite player
A) They will draw 2 cards
2) “You can only … once per duel” is always applied to each player separately. They control Disk Commander’s effect, so they can only use it once.
I hate that i know this ruling because my friend monster reborned my own disk commander THEN i proceeded to lose that duel
Learned that second ruling through Duel Links LMAO
Coming back now that mudball man gives imperm its column negate
ho looks so dead when coder did the M B T. I love it
It's strange, I find it really funny I've learned so many ruling interactions from play the World Championship series of games and it helped me get some questions right here. Who says games can't teach you anything haha. Good stuff Coder.
"There is no such thing as interesting HERO ruling questions"
5:35 Trif says hello
I love the damage step. We played 3 HONEST and had to know our substeps to properly play HONEST.
That Hornet Drones wording still seems dumb. Coder went on to talk about how it's all about the printed Attack, but as MBT said shouldn't the "instead" at the end of the sentence mean it modifies what's printed on creation? Like they could've just said "it gains 1500 Atk" or not included "instead" if it was boosting rather than imply it alters the base
I'm guessing it's a "have their cake and eat it too" kind of wording where they didn't want the original attack to change, but they also didn't want the change in attack to interact with effects that trigger in response to an attack gaining or stat altering effect.
Yes i thnk is wrong beacause the word instead is permanent indicating it becomes original atk
Yeah idk what's going on here. The instead is super weird. If it's original attack is considered 0 does that mean (if the token somehow switches to attack position) I could pop it with 103 or something?
The 1500 atk/def is after resolution of drones. This condition is applied after it check the GY.
It would need to say " the Tokens Original atk/def become 1500 instead"
Having the word instead means any temporary atk/def reverts back to 1500. Without that card text could revert it to 0/0
The original attack of a card can only be changed in the monster zone. Regardless of whether or not hornet drones did change the original attack, plasma still gains 0 attack. A similar situation would be if plasma equips a fusilier dragon That was summoned without tributing, plasma still gains 1400 attack.
And now, with the new OCG ruling that just recently came out, you can infim Mudballman and it WILL stop the column
The ruling of Flame Wingman vs. The Prime Monarch was interesting - it's analogous to Anki vs. a monster that would do something when it leaves the field, like go to the bottom of the Deck, be banished, etc. It didn't go to the GY, so Anki doesn't activate there to search.
I love the interaction with imperm and uneffected cards. Had a Gravekeepers heritic in master duel get iied and had a mini heart attack before I noticed it did nothing to the row
Does distantcoder know code talker rulings?
This series has taught me that I’m a fucking genius when it comes to obscure rulings.
for the plasma ruling:"it is printed 0 so it is gains 0 atk"
it cannot be simpler 🤣
It’s not that simple because of the wording thought tbh
I am so glad I was/am Subterror Player. I am yet to get a Damage Step ruling wrong and it feels good.
An Elemental HERO with a clay body built-to-last. He'll preserve his Elemental HERO colleagues at any cost.
17:02 Solemn Judgment can only negate game mechanical summons anyway. It cannot respond to cards that special summon as an effect except they happen to be spell/trap cards.
Favorite deck, AND favorite Yugituber (sorry Coder), instant like and instant favorite episode!
Hahaa shoutout to the lady waving in the back while closing MBT's door 🤣

7:45 I remember Honest was said to be used at almost any time, notably during Damage Calculation, not sure if I was being cheated out on that, but the card always read "Damage Step" while Injection Fairy Lily read Damage Calculation. That being said, I think no cards can be used during Damage Calculation unless it is printed on the card, but Start Step, Damage Step and "Before Damage Calculation" all seem relatively flexible, it seems to be Battle Step, specifically Attack Declaration, in which only one chain can be made.
8:35 I'm confused how he came to this conclusion as it was just stated multiple chains can be formed in "Before Damage Calculation", as the answer implies there is only one chain in "Before Damage Calculation"
That Solemn Judgement question about DPE an easy no because the effect of summon upon next turn is an effect resolving after it was destroyed and since the effect resolved and not negated in the chain it will be allowed to special summon a Destiny HERO. The summon effect is triggered during the previous turn even if Judgement was set it still wouldn't activate because it's a monster effect and Judgement can't negate monster effects.
If you are going to use a solemn against DPE it has to be Solemn Strike but it has be in a chain of the activation of DPE.
Obviously you can use Judgement against DPE if the opponent used Fusion Destiny or Poly to summon it, that will work.
So.... is Cimo next(?)

Wait MBT is a HERO guy? (Haven't watch him for a long time)
Yep
One of the decks he's played in the past is HEROs including it being what he brought to YCS Las Vegas when doing a 3v3 with Gage and Cimo
He's most known for Pacifis and HEROs. There aren't many difficult rulings for Pacifis and you need to know all of them to play the deck so HERO was chosen
@@pretsel5132 yeah, on the twitch stream DistantCoder and MBT talked about it since both of them have played Pacifis and brought it I think to Nats qualifiers and how even the hardest rulings are stuff you just need to know.

Btw, if anyone was wondering, even if you do negate the Mudballman with Imperm, you can still chain the set Chalice to the Imperm as chains resolve backwards, meaning the Chalice activates before the column gets negated. Just a little TCG ruling most people dont know about
That.... shouldn't be a "little ruling" thats straight up how chains work, Infinite Imperm doesn't have a "cards in this column can not be activated in response/during this chain" clause
Chalice activates after Imperm, and then Chain Resolution means it resolves first, Imperm's negation can't stop it because its too late
This is basic chains in a nutshell, you could do this shit with Imperial Order and Royal Oppression and what not
tmw i ran this quiz by my friend and she only missed the Mudballman question partially
So I think the solemn ruling is because of just how Solemn works. Solemn Judgement can negate activation of spell or traps or the normal or special summon of a monster. That meant judgement could negate summons from conditions being met, such as DAD or cyber dragon, but not summons due to effects such as lone fire blossom.
This was a huge deal back in the day because it was one of the big reasons solemn warning was such a sought after card, because it could negate summons from an effect
I miss this series so much
Next time try guesting Cimoooooooo using the Zoodiac archetype. That would be amazing!
Cimooo doesn't respond to too many yugitubers besides nymnym and mbt. Not likely going to happen.

Volcanic scattershot and using masked change on shadow mist making dark law gave me head aches like 5 years ago xD
But it simple reload just fizzles and if you banish reload you can just banish a volcanic from deck
I've never realized before that Coder pronounces both can and can't as CAN, but that Mudballman question shows it very clearly
I wonder how many rullings have I got wrong because of that 🤔
Interesting- where are you from? I’m American and I hear a clear difference between his “can” and “can’t”. But I know different English dialects use different things to differentiate both words (which is one reason I find it hard to understand Brits sometimes)
This series is both educational and entertaining I’m down for it
MBT literally went to law school and even he cant navigate the mess that is the Damage Step
We should get rata with ojama rulings 😝
No rata with train rulings
sheesh kaiba was right to open a dueling school. this shit is intricate as hell lmao awesome
Finally to see if I'm following a benevolent smartie or dumber from dumb and dumber!
I was yelling at my screen for that Diamond Dude one. One of the oldest rulings and I have used some gimmicky as hell Diamond Dude decks in the past.
Thank you. I had a argument with my local judge in regards to being able to mask change when I had no graveyard
Phoenix enforcer is a floating/lingering effect that activates in your turn, but resolves in the next SB phase, right?
Similar like VW Jiji, which is activated in hand, and resolving it's second part in the EP. Correct me if im wrong.
Since DPE has already activated it's effect to perform the special summon the summon itself which happens at the next standby cannot be negated
......in my over 10 years of playing yugioh with all sorts of decks and watching a lot of stuff on youtube it never occured to me you could potentially equip tokens via Plasma and similar cards
it makes sense you could but since that situation never occured for me I never could have imagined it
And now they've changed the rulings on Mudball Man
The last will comment has me laughing like crazy
I cant wait for cimoooo on black wings ruling, the "dAmAgE sTeP" wont be as fun for him this time
Noooooo, what a missed opportunity! Why not War Rock? MBT is the God of War Rocks. The creme de la creme. Why is he the God of War Rock? He is the only person that dedicated 15 minutes to play the deck, that's almost double of what everybody else dedicated to test it
Oh, well, nice video ❤️
What’s the backstory between Joseph and Mudballman? 👀
He wasn't mudball man until Joseph came along.
Nobody cared who Ballman was until he put on the Mud
That one with Solemn versus Destroy Phoenix is the only one I got wrong, and I think I got it wrong because I also played MtG for years and got it in my head that Destroy Phoenix's self-summoning effect was akin to a triggered ability in MtG, and because Solemn just says it can negate any summon I wasn't thinking about the idea that the delayed summon only starts a chain when it initially activates and not at the actual time of the summon. Sometimes I look at this game and think: "Wow...this game's complexity makes Go look like Tic-Tac-Toe and MtG look like Checkers".
If there's a chance that a Dinosaur deck player can get quizzed, I'd love to see that.
I have a question about the Dinosaur boss monster Ultimate Conductor Tyranno.
Its famous effect is to inflict burn damage then send a monster to GY. Most people recite this as "send then burn" which might make this a good gotcha question. My question is this: UCT's effect states "and if you do" after the 1000 burn damage. If any effect were to negate or modify the burn damage dealt, does the send to GY effect go off?
Now we need " Does cimooooo knos blackwing ruling?" Hahahaah
watching this is just "cards go brrrr"
Cant wait to see him interview Shaddoll rulings at some point
PhoenixFlareX on Dragunity rulings!
I seriously had no idea that tokens can last as equipped cards. I thought they'd just fizzle.
we need "..." Know Dragon Link Rulings? | Yu-Gi-Oh Ruling Quiz
Ya it's pretty funny how I actually knew the second one specifically from duel links 😂😂 I was like ey. I know that move. 😂😂
So the mud ball man ruling, is that the same ruling if you book of moon a monster that was targeted by imberm
the "kluger + honest neos" reminds me somewhat of " t A.I. strike+donyoribo@ignister+fire phoenix@ignister"
i remember i had to go for lethal and chained them correctly during the phases of the damage step in order to deal a massive amount of damage and win the duek
My opponent called a judge cause he thought i was committing an illegal action and he ruled in my favor explaining how does the entire damage step works
This is hypothetical, but if you tribute a trap monster and a spell card, for master piece what happens?
Master Peace specifies the original type of card, so it would be unaffected by Spells and Traps
7:52 when we getting hour long judge guide were you go through everything and I mean EVERYTHING. if that's to much maybe then can we get like a 30 min video explaining damage step

Here a ruling nightmare you could have use on mbt. If your opponent target v-hero increase in spell, and traps with the Rusty bardiche to destroy it. And you chain the effect of Increase to summon itself. Will v-hero increase be destroyed in the monster zone with Rusty effect?
The answer is a headache as I have 7 judges ruled it in different ways.
I am having a hard time believing that 7 judges thought that effect of Increase is a fast effect

I'd say no, since location changed & reference lost. Increase's wording sounds like a monster effect but it is indeed a quick-like cont trap effect, sometimes yugipedia's effect type section is more reliable than judges

4.- 2650 ATK (Incorrect, good to know)
5.- 0 LP. No option, you have to activate since it destroyed a monster (Incorrect)
6.- Yes he can. (Incorrect)
7.- Yes (Incorrect, I didn't specify on the imperm thing and it would've been wrong anyway)
8.- Yes (correct)

Wouldn’t question 5 base be judgement can’t negate monster effects
