Well done Jof. What a result! I’ve had fridge issues this week too. Turned out to be a defective thermistor, the small temperature sensor attached to the cooling fins. Fixed in minutes once I had the part. Less complicated than your issue but worth bearing in mind.

You can check for gas leaks with soapy water really good for showing small leaks
