    • @AdeleiTeillana
      @AdeleiTeillana Год назад +31

      I know a lot of Singaporeans whose first/native language is English. They have an accent that makes you think they learned it as a second language, but it's actually their first language. She's probably been speaking English at home since she was first starting to speak.

      This prove that the child can learn diarect n English both language at the same time😂😂😂

    • @dawsie
      @dawsie Год назад

      Languages are easier to learn as a child as they have no hang ups like adults do, as you get older and then decide you want to learn another language that’s when your brain fights against it. Some people who already speak more than one language will find learning a 3r and 4th a lot easier than some one who in their 20’s with only one language who wants to learn a 2nd language. You need to think in the new language to speak it. I had a friend who spoke 6 languages as well as her family when she’s on the phone with them they rotated through 5 of them, all in the one convention, when I asked her why, she said that when describing something some languages lend them selves better to describing things. The one language they never used on the phone was English as they felt their conversation was private and most people around her at work only speak English.
      So if you want your children to speak more than one language start them as young as possible but make it fun for them. When something is fun they learn better. If they are board with it, it will never stick no matter how hard you try.

    • @jackrush1222
      @jackrush1222 Год назад

      @@dawsie to add, it's harder to learn languages as an adult because there are some phonetics that are literally impossible to learn as an adult if you were not trained while you were a child. That's also the reason why Japanese speakers have a hard time pronouncing "L" because they don't have that phoneme in their language.

    Advice from a 9 year old!! Ha ha!!! Shame my mum didn't hear this when she always told us that we're wasting our time as we not good at anything, we're nobody and always will be a nobody! She'd threw my niece's paintings out of the window because painting makes mess! The only artwork we did was at school as we were to scared to do anything at home. I liked pottery but my mum would shout at me that I'm making mess in the garden, although I was accusing a small piece of wood. Next day my pot was chucked to dustbin. It was rammed into our heads that we're stupid.
    I'm so glad that such supportive parents exist!!
