- The most fun team for me to watch in 2018 was the Oakland Athletics. They defied all expectations and proved the baseball world wrong in so many ways. I did my best to capture their best moments.
Music Used (All music is from the Moneyball soundtrack):
- Opening Sequence/Opening Day/April: "It's a Process"
- May/June: "The Streak"
- July: "More"
- August: "On Its Head"
- September: "Its a Process"

I know this is a long video, but it really would mean a lot if you took some time to watch it. I think the 2018 Oakland A's were one of the best stories in baseball the last few years, and I did my best to capture the magic of their improbable season.
Dude...this video is amazing
i watched it all it was great, i loved their season
Money ball is overrated. Billy Beane, Michael Lewis, Brad Pitt, the whole lot. How come people are rejoicing over them when they have been like 2-14 in postseason must-win games. How come other small market teams like the Rockies, the Angels, and the ‘15 champ Royals have all made it to the WS recently and they don’t get any fanfare but the green elephants haven’t won a pennant in this century. I like your channel man. You and MVPFLF are probably the best Baseball editors on RUclips, but Moneyball is propaganda
Great video bro.
EXE-Edits ...this was great. I am a die hard oakland fan and loved it!!!
Looking back on it now, they has so much talent. Chapman, Olson, Semien, Manea, Treinen all turned out to be such good players. If they could have resigned and built around that young core, they would have been a fun team to watch for years
It's funny how they have the lowest pay roll in baseball, but they had the 4th best record in the MLB.
Ryan Berner The Royals had a low payroll and won the WS.
THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE!!
They weren’t even good that year everyone else was just choking in the postseason, they were a bunch of veteran players
@@champion909 This is a lie, the Royals opening day payroll was the 19th highest in the league, the A's were 25th that season so you were far from the lowest payroll.
Wow! Chilling fact man whoa
The 2019 Rays won the wild card and took the Astros to 5 in the ALDS with the lowest payroll of the year.
I’m an A’s fan and this is one of the greatest videos I’ve ever watched
I am a A's fan too and same here best vid
Same!!
Watching this today I've got tears. What a fun season and so was 19. I hate fisher for taking that team away from us
Astros fan here. I don't think we could've asked for a better rival this season. The A's are definitely going places
Kirby Price thanks m8 means a lot from an astros fan
Ik thanks hard season but more hope for us next year
Bang bang
Comment didn't age well
This video can be described as:
The love, magic and passion of baseball
"Ohhh how can you not be romantic about baseball." Brad Pitt as Billy Bean in Moneyball.
Man… looking back.. glad I was able to experience it.. nothing like Oakland baseball. Great times. Countless times
I can’t really express how bob Melvin got the best of his players. Blake Trienen was a failed reliever in Washington. Lowrie was never anything special. Piscotty seemed like a guy who lost his bat after the 2015 season . Mike fiers was veteran who looked to be done. I mean I could go on and on. But they all came together and played like a team. There really is no true ace on this (yet), there is no superstar (yet...Matt Chapman) but yet they finish five wins under 100 that’s pretty amazing. I’m not even an A’s fan but you got to like their future.
True as a A's fan
3 wins under 100
Dont forget Edwin Jackson...that guy owns so many baseball caps...
I’d say Davis and Chapman are borderline stars
Well I believe Piscotty also lost his bat because his mother was dying
Had season tickets this year. Such great memories, life was so good then. Sad for the future of the A’s but thankful I was able to see them in Oakland as much as I did.
Oakland always gets close. I will always have mad respect for the A's you will win it one day it'll be unforgettable! ( Make history with Billy Beane Method )
They will one day soon I have faith all us A's fans have earned it
I live in AZ our baseball team came shy in the NLDS 2017, even with JD, Goldy, Peralta & Lamb. Wow.
Where's Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill
“Nobody expected us to be here or do what we did”
“This is only the start of what we have”
Beautiful. Thank you for making this. From an A's fan.
Same love the bay and the A's
LET’S GO OAKLAND!!!
Rooted in Oakland! Go A’s!!
Amazing video, seriously one of the best channels on youtube. Thank you so much for all the fantastic content
That was a season to remember for the a´s.
Thanks for making this. It was an amazing season for Oakland. I'm glad to have witnessed so many special moments at the coliseum and on tv.
I’m a Yankee fan and I’m saying Bravo to you, you made me rethink this and this was really a great story!
Although I’m a diehard mariners fan I have always had a lot of respect and love for billy beane and the Oakland athletics. I’ve always loved the A’s ability to build such great teams with low payrolls. The Oakland front office actually knows what it’s doing, especially compared to my mariners. I really wanted Oakland to beat New York in the wild card game and make a deep playoff run. One of these years they’ll get to the world series
I was at the game at 5:10 it's the only chance I get to see the A's in person once a year. That 9th inning made it the most memorable A's game I've attended. Glad this popped up on my recommended today!
Video really gave me the chills. Absolutely exceptional man. This was like a shortened documentary and it was outstanding. Great job!
This is some of the best editing I've seen from this channel. Ever. We need more videos like this.
Keep up the great work!
stephen piscotty has to be the most underrated performer of this magical team. he was so clutch on so many occasions
Every time I watch this it brings a tear to my eye, the edits, the interviews, the highlights... absolute great job on this masterpiece.
As an A’s fan, These are the best baseball videos I have ever watched
I AM A YANKEES FAN AND I WAS CRYING AT THAT LAST BIT YOU GUYS SHOULD HAVE WON THE AL WEST
Proud Hufflepuff42 ur one of the few yankee fans I like not cuz u rooted for us but because ur not shifting in us in the comment section
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate how good this edit is? He really captured the spirit of the A’s season through great editing and utilizing the score of the film well. Job well done, sir.
Who would of thought the WS Champ would be the first team to be No hit and by the A's?!?!
legendary, i was lucky enough to be at that game
Thank you for making this, I went to all of the home games in this video, Opening day. No hitter, and all the walk offs!!!
Go A’s!
Just watched it, really nicely done! I’m glad you didn’t sugar coat October. Makes fans even more eager for 2019 season! Keep up the hard work!
The A's were great this year. Maybe they'll do even better next year
This was exceptionally well done. From the production aspect and just for me being an A's fan. Great job man.
great season. a perfect example of an oakland A's season. 2012 will always have a place in my heart though. thanks for uploading this.
This video is a masterpiece and I'm a Mets fan. Tons of chills. Thank you
thank you for the work, this is a really nice tribute to a great and fun season
This is absolutely your best video to date, all A’s fans including myself should appreciate this. I’ve been a low key fan for a while watching all the highlight reels, but this is very well made and you are a great RUclipsr! I hope to see more A’s videos in the future and keep up the good work!
So much time and effort put into every video you make.
A great and awesome season we had. Have nowhere to go, but up. Such a great video. Someday we'll go all the way. Let's go, Oakland
This video was just amazing
I liked the interviews. None of the A’s had their heads down and I noticed they all were inferring something about next year being a good one
Yankees fan here, but tons of respect for you guys, what a season, hopefully you guys can keep it going
*One of the best videos I have ever seen.*
Man, this video is incredible!
Awesome video. Watched the whole thing

I had straight goosebumps this whole video
(I’m a huge A’s Fan). This is one my favorite videos ever made
Great video, definitely a fun ride this season. I’m hoping 2019 will be better !
Emotional video, mad props
Great vid as usual keep up the great content 🔥🔥
you used the soundtrack too. This is a work of art
thank you this is truly amazing and beautiful. they really should make a movie about it
#RootedInOakland
It ain't over till it's over Oakland Athletics fighting
This gave me chills
Make more of these. Wow
The team in the NL that most deserves one of these is either the Cards, but they fell short, or the
dodgers, cuz they started so bad and then just beast mode-ed for the end of the year
Incredible video
I loved this team so much.
Oakland A’s. My favorite team. Went to Two A’s Games, Summer 2019. Loved them, So fun going to An A’s Game. This is such a good vid, To my favorite team. I can’t stop watching the A’s. Such a good team. Favorite Team By FAR. I like Chapman, Piscotty, Olson, And More. This is from a BIG A’s Fan. I was SO MAD when the Yankees Won the 2018 Wild Card. This Season Was One of the greatest Maybe. Wish the A’s won a World Series. This is the best Season for me. I went to the A’s Game VS Giants 8/13/2019. Giants won, Bummed Out. Went to a game on The Fourth Of July. Twins VS A’s At the Oakland Colosseum. Watched a Grand Slam. Frogot The Player Who hit the GS. Truly an amazing franchise. 2018 Khris DAVIS hit 48 Homers! Also The A’s SWEPT the Yankees! Man, I love the A’s Since 2008.
*This year...2022...has the potential to be the most glorious year ever. It's gonna be fun :)*
WE HAD A BETTER RECORD THAN THE DODGERS AND WE WERE PROJECTED LAST. THERE IS ALWAYS MAGIC IN OAKLAND!!!! 3/28/19 OPENING DAY(my bday also) HERE WE COME!!!
amazing video
15 mins of straight chills
My boys are always kicking ass! 💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚 LETS GO OAKLAND!
Incredible video, thanks
This was really well done ! . 2020 will be the season when the A's finally win the last game of the season .
I love how the Yankee fans screamed "We want Boston" then lost in 4 games to the Red Sox
Love your channel man you do great work. Any chance you'd do a video similar to this on the fall of the Mariners so I have something to watch while I cry myself to sleep each night?
Thanks and keep up the good work man.
I'm a dodgers fan but much respect to the Oakland athletics especially put competition in the AL west was a tough quest.Even though I'm a dodgers fan Respect Oakland prob be number 1 pick if I wasn't a dodgers fan.but go dodgers!Even though you guys lost to the NYY I wouldn't be mad you guys are like the atlanta braves in the AL this year but even better.
You know it would be cool if you did this on the rays because no one thought they were going to do anything and they almost made the playoffs. So that would be sweet, they were probably the most exciting team to watch this year too.
U should’ve too if mlb only fixed the way the postseason worked
Then again I’m an A’s fan and I hate the rays tho
Very true
The A’s , Brewers , Rockies and especially the Rays were 2018 true underdogs
wow man thanks for putting this video up great job ! 2018 was like 2012 special real natural amA'szing ! Bless up and 2019 gonna be special ! Go A's bay bay !
Laereuno (sorry if it is misspelled) is a beast
That opening day clip of the walk off win reminds me of the clip on game 19 of the streak where they won the game on a walk off single to center where they only had 2 outfielders
thanks so much for making this video
Man besides the 2012 team this one was one to pay attention to!
what a great video. And I'm a Yankees fan.
Really well done edit bro 👍
the only thing missing from this is the documentary style that director Bennett Miller infused with each of these game cuts. Like, maybe adding in some Sportscenter commentary on what ESPN commenters would say, some v/o's of the players and how they felt when a play was made, all while interspersing their record as it climbs from game to game, win to win, stats climbing, etc...
All because Giambi didnt slide smh
Rip
Great video
As a Braves and A's fan. I couldn't of asked for a more magical season. Win or lose I had goosebumbs 162 days plus some. Hope my two teams meet in the ws one day. I'll be rooting for the braves though.
I'm a huge Yankee fan and I have so much respect for what Billy Beane has done with the A's, I hope that one day he is able to win a championship in Oakland because goddamn he deserves it. Also eerie how this story begins and ends at Yankee Stadium, from 2001 to 2018.
9:11 most underrated game of 2018
Milo and Lolipop Studios!! I was there
LOWRIE will always be an A. The double machine. Love how he would play his best baseball in Oakland.
They had a helluva team...
Laureano is gonna be SO GOOD
Great video love it
WOW... $180,000,000 vs. $80,000,000?!? ...and to only win 1 in the best of 5, that's some crazy shit.
I believe in my heart that the A's would've given a better show against Boston.
2019, BABY!
what a beautiful video. wow
This vid was on the money💚💛
Nice editing man
I just wish Oakland would have a chance in the Postseason, just wanted to see how they would play after this season.
As a reds fan I love watching the A’s cause it ya they don’t win to much but when they do it’s something special
Great video bro
Amazing video!!! By an astros fan
For a stretch mid June early July, it literally felt like the A’s were never ever out of a game.
Reminds me a lot of the 2012 Nationals. Both teams that were over looked by everyone, and became the most successful team that year, and both losing in round one of the playoffs
Who here is not a Oakland A's fan but watches every year since how they played from here on out?
As a 0adres fan I have mad respect for this team
Hits different now that they are all gone😔
