Great opening with the flames Claire, this Tudor man seemed a very inportant Scots nobleman, and a very powerful wealthy man to. Thank you Claire for this interesting talk.👍👍
A fiery new intro! Just the thing for Tudor times. All these relationships are very confusing though. And I'm still wondering why we haven't seen Teasel in quite a while. I hope the poor little thing is OK? Thanks Claire.
Thank you so much for including as much of Scotlands history as you do. I find it difficult to source a lot of information on Scotlands history online (documentaries, youtube channels etc) so I appreciate you covering Scottish affairs/leading Scottish nobles/players within your Tudor timeline video uploads. Thanks
This isn't your usual video for me Claire. We've been able through much research over the years to both discover & verify that we are Direct Descendants of The now Dukes of Argyll. So this isn't just Tudor History for me, but Family History too. 😁 Thanks for the great video & further information about an Ancestor of mine. Love the new Intro & have a great week!!
I loooove the intro! It's absolutely perfect for the Tudors! Nice work! Very interesting to hear a bit about Scotland, & the religious changes there. I really like that someone translated the bible into Gaelic, especially when you think about how Gaelic & Welsh were suppressed (?) a few centuries later- society doesn't just uniformly become more tolerant over time. Horribly sad for Argyll's wife to lose her husband, & then their only child.
🇭🇲🦘 Archibald Campbell seems to have been deeply involved in the politics of Scotland throughout his lifetime, as well as a religious reformist. He .... led such a busy and full life. It does seem a bit suspicious that he went to bed healthy, only to die that night. Being such a high profile citizen (if he had been ill) this would have been noted. I feel very sorry for his pregnant wife, to not only lose her husband (unexpectantly and suddenly) but to later lose their child. cont... Very interesting details given about the life (and times) of this man, the 5th Earl of Argyll. "Thank you" Claire 💓👑👍
I give ya a like but actually I give ya a love because your research cut through confusion with details of importance . I hope we can all learn from history enough that we are not made victims by repeating mistakes . Love you and your adorable husband , I believe we have all been victims of w a r f or generations and if we get it right I hope we can stop abuse . much respect from Canada .
Real flames indeed! And dense smoke all over. Very unhealthy! In 88 years, I've never seen anything remotely like this in Oregon. Best wishes to all in California and Washington, too.
Virginia Grabow I hope you, your loved ones and property will all be safe! In 1974 a dear friend and I rode his BMW 900 motorcycle from Minnesota to San Francisco. We swung north through Oregon, and I remembered how dry it looked to us from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, as our license plates read.
@@TheAuntieBa I'm right outside the Portland area, so we're okay (aside from the terrible air). Some of our family and a couple of friends have had to evacuate from their homes further down the Willamette Valley, but they're safe. I worry about all the firefighters. My older son was one while he was in college--but it was nothing like this! Your trip must have taken you through Southern Oregon, which is no more than a tinder box waiting to ignite all spring and summer...and fall, too, some years. So dry and ugly. I need green!!! I've been to Minnesota just once, and thought it was so beautiful. Even the mosquitoes were in hiding when we were there. My favorite place was Winona, where some of my husband's family were from. Stay safe . . . from everything!
Great piece of history and an interesting man who came to a sudden and unexpected end. It's natural to wonder but there are intrinsic physical abnormalities that can assail the seemingly healthy.
Colin Campbell came.close to losing his brother Archibald's title. If Archibald's wife had given birth to a live son, that child would have become Duke of Argyll. Colin must have been holding his breath.
Cool new opening! Could Archibald have been poisoned? Am I too suspicious, would anyone benefit from his death? So sad his son passed away as well. His poor widow.
I think these videos are very very good.

My ancestor
Love how you are bringing in other characters of the Tudor period that we may not know as much about. Thanks!

Thank you. I found this very interesting. Greetings from Charleston South Carolina USA.
Love the new intro! I get Mary I vibes from it.

Real flames here in the North west and west coast. Thank you for the escape into history!

Ah, I've been waiting to know what happened on my birthday! 😊

New intro! I have a niece who lives in San Francisco: my first thoughts were of her.
🔥 🔥 ♥️
Cool new opening!

Poisoned or possibly an aneurysm
My mum passed away from an aneurysm last year. She went to bed healthy and alive and my dad found her on the floor in the bathroom the next morning 😪
@@emmacrooke807 Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Also maybe the marriage was unhappy because of the illegitimate children... Or he had the children because he was unhappy??
I am half Scottish, I was told by my Granny NEVER TRUST A CAMPBELL. they are not true to Scotland. Hmmm now I get it
God Almighty is love and wants us to love and help each other and Jesus Christ of Nazareth died for our sins so we need to repent.
