When you put a short story about a cosmic horror to rhyme, it suddenly becomes so much more terrifying. I need to get this to read my future children to sleep with
@@nik_9889plus it adds an extra layer of surrealism, feeling like you're being told a more fantastical tale than otherwise (which works in this case to hollo the horror)
With Lovecraft you've got to take the good with the bad. Sure, there's a lot of racism but at least his prose is so bad that you'll give up beforehand anyway. I have no issue with them changing the race of certain people if it means that there isn't racism, but you don't even need to do that - just don't make the fact they are the bad guys ABOUT their race. And whilst I mock, I love the ideas that he came up with.
My dad reads this to my little brother, as well as Dagon. my brother is 2, and its like his favorite book. He knew about, and could name Cthulhu on sight before he could with santa
My uncle gave me this book when I was 11 and it’s still one of my favourites to this day, even though it gave me nightmares when I was younger I enjoyed it enough to try and read other HP Lovecraft books
Definitely would love to hear you read poetry or rhymes! I am not sure with the cadence in this that you would be exceptionally good at story reading but with rhymes and poetry you have the perfect inflections and cadence.
The art in this set is seriously so sick! From the full arts, to the stellars, to even the commons, it’s all so good! Can’t wait to get my hands on some product!

I have a three year old and one of his favorite toys was a Cthulhu plushie given to him by one of his best friends, the same friend got him this book and I assumed it would be chill introducing to Cthulhu like for kids.... We did not finish the book 🤣
Ironically, my birth Mother claimed that she read Lovecraft out loud to me as a baby because she couldn't read it in silence... This video just made it more apparent how messed up it was looking back.
In second grade we analyzed Edgar Alan poes "tell tale heart" so this really isn't terrible. Let alone most kids nowadays have access to the Internet...
Well, hearing my name read in a Dr. Seuss themed lovecraft live reading isn't something I was expecting to come across at 2:49am, yet here we are. (Full reading please)
It's available online from a few stores online like Thrift books, Chaosium (the publisher) and Barnes and Noble, but it's unlikely you can get it in store there, just online.
HP Lovecraft in Dr seuss. The combination of powers that I never knew I needed until now.
It's truly terrifying lol
I second this, we need more trauma H.P. Seuss style.
Two of the most well know racists of all time LMAO
We need a King in Yellow crossover now
They would work well together in more ways than one 💀😏

I think it’s because it sounds like a sea story an old sailor would tell, adding more to the story by making it feel even older than the narrator.

I’m begging you to read the whole thing!
I remember the sailor being described quite differently in the book, wonder why they changed it

Dr. Suess was a racist, too, I'm sure it would have worked.
Take a look at the illustration though
He was naughtical looking. What's wrong with that?
@@robhubbard1 fully agree
Hearing Lovecraft in Seuss is far more disturbing than anticipated.
I NEED the full version of you doing a dramatic reading of this
I picked this book up back in 2021, I absolutely love it. The blending of styles is perfect.
