My goal for 2019 is to cut back on some of my current commitments. So hopefully by July of next year, I'll be able to devote more time to doing things I love, like making videos!
I am in complete agreement too. I would love for you to sit more often as I throughly enjoy your videos as they are so thoughtful, practical and informative 😊
Thank you so much for your encouragement! I'll see what I can do! At the moment, 2 videos are in the pipeline. I have a couple of extra vacation days this year, so hopefully I can push them out before end of 2018!
Your planning philosophy is similar to mine so I appreciate the tips I get from watching your channel. The tip that I'm taking away from this one is to use page flags for recurring tasks. Thank you for making these videos.
Oh myyyy! Here is a fan of transparent kakuno with EF nib with noodlers ink! also glad you share some new ideas about trying to live half analog and half digital, which is a balance that I wish to strike without not knowing where the info is.
Yes!! The transparent kakuno is SO CUTE! I love the smiley face! Yeah, I've been trying to keep all my planning analog, but decided that maybe it's time to experiment with having a hybrid system for a while. If I don't like it, I can always revert to fully analog planning. Will probably update some time next year on how it's going! =)
I'm sort of a minimalist... So, I have to justify to myself every planner that I want to use. Ironically, though, this planner system is one of the more complex systems I've designed!
Haha, I'd say... Maybe hold off the purchase until 2020? Last year, I bought wayyyyy too many planners (6 in total), and having them sit around the house not fulfilling their purpose made me sad. :'(
Thank you for sharing your 2019 system! I re-ordered the Hobonichi Cousin for 2019, it worked well for me for 2018 so I'm looking forward to keeping what worked and trying new things out. Best of luck with this new system!
I'm so glad to hear that the Cousin worked well for you! It's one of the best planners I've seen in terms of versatility. =D I hope you continue enjoying it in 2019~
Been waiting a long time (it seemed) to see you back on the RUclips circuit! Thanks for the Nolty referral, I will have to investigate! Really, really enjoy your videos, Yukiko. Would love to take a live class with you, too. (Planners or otherwise.) Bet your classes are highly sought after.
New Video 😃👏🏽!! I love your functional and minimal setups. You always have such great ideas and tips for planning. Great choices for 2019. Because of your videos and all the ideas on how to utilize a Hobonichi, I purchased the cousin for 2019 and I love it already. Thanks for sharing 😊
I'm so happy to hear that you love the Hobonichi Cousin. If the NOLTY6501 didn't exist, it would definitely have been my choice for 2019! It's an amazingly versatile planner. I hope you enjoy using it all throughout next year
Awesome as always. I very much appreciate your approach - use what is working for you and what you will use. Very practical. I too would love to see how you set up your google sheets for larger project organization and planning. Thanks for being there!
At the moment, I cannot show the Google Sheets worksheets because they contain confidential information. However, I can describe them to you! The Google Sheet document comprises different worksheets, one for each project. In each worksheet is the list of tasks for the project, their corresponding due dates (if there are), and any comments/notes regarding that task. I also have a checkbox beside each task to indicate whether the task is completed. Hope that helps!
Yukiko - awesome. Thank you for this. I look forward to your future excellent expositions on life and organizing the potential chaos that is ever present!
I haven't heard of the Nolty before! It's exactly what I need, but I've already purchased the weekly A6 insert from Hobonichi to fulfill the need for an hourly vertical layout. If the insert doesn't work out, then I'll definitely get the Nolty! Thanks for sharing your system and introducing new products!
I really hope that the A6 Weekly Supplement works for you! The columns are a bit too small for me, but I've seen other people use it as a daily planner and it's really cool!
In the Simplenote app, I have a bunch of notes with different titles (e.g., "thoughts to get back to" or "RUclips ideas"). Depending on the type of thing I want to record, I then go to a specific note and type my thoughts into it. The Google Sheet document comprises different worksheets, one for each project. In each worksheet is the list of tasks for the project, their corresponding due dates (if there are), and any comments/notes regarding that task. I also have a checkbox beside each task to indicate whether the task is completed. Hope that helps!
I love your videos! I am also using the Nolty 6501!! I was able to purchase it from Amazon.jp; and I am so happy that I did! It is the perfect planner. The paper quality is amazing.
I think the combination of digital and analogue makes a great deal of sense in your situation. I shall be interested to know if you end up with a Cousin again in Spring as well. Happy Planning and very Merry Christmas xxx
I was on vacation in Japan earlier this month and got some inspiration from the Japanese planners I was looking at in Loft. Hopefully I'll be able to devote some time to making those videos before the craziness hits me in January!
I am planning to use the Nolty for my work appointments only. I am a stylist so this will be just for professional use. The weeks will be all my personal life. I will have to figure it all out but for now that's my plan.@@yukikosakamura6498
I have another two videos in the pipeline. Hopefully I'll have some time to work on them these couple of weeks and push them out before the end of this year *crosses fingers*
Happy to see your new system for 2019. Did you eard about Asana ? I used for professional purposes and I find it very useful for long time projects....
Yup! I used Asana for a while earlier this year with my research team and loved it for the collaboration features. But my colleagues on the team never used it much, and eventually, I stopped using it too... Maybe next year we will try again!
Thank you for this video. Does the ink in your Kakuno dry up or leak out ever? IDK what's happening but I fill the CON-40 and then over the next several days the ink in the cartridge is less and less even if I'm not using the pen. So frustrating (and expensive)! This happens in my Kakuno whether it's the Pilot disposable cartridge ink, Noodlers ink, or even D'Atrametis. It also happens with my Pilot Metro pens. Am I doing something wrong? Any advice?
I would love to hear an update on how the planners are working, do you see any changes in your productivity? I'm still trying to figure out how to include my professional development.
To be honest, my planner system is relatively stable from year to year. If you watch my 2018 planner system set up, you'll see that the elements are essentially similar to the 2019 planner system. I can say that the cornerstone of my planning system, the NOLTY 6501, is the most reliable thing that helps me get things done.
Great video! Would you mind sharing how do you use google sheet for the long term projects? I have the same question on the long term project management too, I always need to write the tasks over and over again and it really takes up my time.
Hi! The Google Sheet document comprises different worksheets, one for each project. In each worksheet is the list of tasks for the project, their corresponding due dates (if there are), and any comments/notes regarding that task. It doesn't? I'd thought Amazon.jp offered international shipping. I'm so sorry to know that. The best alternative to the NOLTY would be the Hobonichi Cousin, followed by the Jibun Techo.
Thanks for the wonderful video~~~ could you please type the name of the planner that you use for the timeline and the ONLY one that you would choose if you could have only one... Thank you~~

I love how organized you are! Never thought of listing WHY I need my specific planners, really clarifies things. Thank you :-)
