Yes

In 1976 the Chargers did the exact same thing. They were the ones who did it 48 years ago.
Ray Wersching was the kicker. FYI
Definitely a missed opportunity by whoever made this video. 😎🤘⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡ Last team to do it was the Chargers helllllllllllo.
48yrs ago...I was born in 1976...
Was Corryal the coach then?
@ Tommy Prothro
I Love that call... He is gonna bring the Chargers to a new Level... Great Coaching!!!😮
I had Chargers season tickets when they were in San Diego. I miss them.

The situations leading to a free kick making sense are exceedingly rare, I don’t think this is really a Harbough thing
Changed?! I thought stealing signs was his game. Never be a chief.
Harbaugh had to be told by a ref that this rule is a thing

yeah but you probably played from little leagues up to high school or maybe even college. This is probably a NFL rule
The first thing that came to my mind: “Dan Campbell gonna do that next week.”
Very unlikely.
These are rules in rugby as well. Cool to see it occur in American football!
Also known as “real football”
They come from the same game
American football evolved out of Rugby.
Dicker the best kicker in the league. Underrated af.

Harbaugh is a fkn genius anyway, but that was a very headsup call and im sure , he was the only guy in the stadium that even thought about it.
Genius 😂😂😂😂😂 he's a booger eater I'm sure one of his assistants told him about the rule
They should have known he would try it, he tried it in SF.
Did you even watch the game? Someone had to go tell him that it was an option.
He got told by a ref that it was an option
He literally sent the offense out 😂 and called a timeout bc he didn’t know
Dicker the kicker. Best name

He Dicked it down 😂

Yup kickers can kick close to like 70 yards during practice. Main reason the record is only like at 64 is because of the defense.
Wow great insight, never thought of that 😂😜
They also can get as much of a run-up as they want.

Great job coach in staying on top of your game. Keep up the good work. No one has it better than us. Go Bolts.

Awesome. Old school football
Hats off to the special teams coach. They prcaticed this the week leading up to the game and it paid off
And the last team to do it was the Chargers.

Yes sir ⚡️
Miss Dickerson the kicker. Miss our longhorn 😊
Me too Bert Auburn is not getting it done
Harbaugh almost did this at the end of the Super Bowl
and the last free kick was also performed by Ray Wersching's 45-yard free-kick for the Chargers against the Bills on Nov. 21, 1976.
The last time it was successful. It had been attempted quite a few times since then.

First successful one. Harbaugh has attempted this before
Tom Landry did it around 1980 or so so I knew the rule existed.
That’s crazy that 57 yards is in his range.
It's actually a little bit easier because there are no defenders ready to try and block it so angle can be a little more gradual
