@melcooper4029 really only 9 attempts have been made since the last successful one was made, and actually the refs had to tell Jim about the attempt, only 32 attempts have been recorded in the nfl, yep dozens and dozens have been attempted. So basically 2 and half dozen. Thanks for the history lesson

      @@joeyb1766Thanks for proving my point.
EVERY TEAM is prepared for this scenario.

@melcooper4029 every team practices missed long field goals that's why there's a returner in the end zone, Jim's football IQ is up there, one of the best defenses in the league in regards to points allowed... it's the dozens of attempts when there has only been 32 total in the nfl, you make it sound like it happens all the time, thanks for the obvious, Chris Collinsworth.. you should go into broadcasting

Drop kicking a field goal instead of having a holder and the free kick field goal after fair catch are ancient remnants of rugby rules that are only used by special teams geeks like Jim Harbaugh abd Bill Belichick before with Doug Flutie.

Who got possession after the free kick? Did the chargers have to kickoff to the broncos or since it's a free kick do the chargers get the 3 and keep possession? And if they do, did the chargers start possession from the spot of the free kick or do the broncos kickoff
