- The air flow is down on this vehicle which is why the old filter was so dirty on top.
Some replacement cabin air filters just have an arrow telling you which way to install it. For example, the OEM filter is marked with an arrow and says 'UP' so you would install it with the arrow pointing up. If you have an aftermarket filter that says 'Air Flow' next to an arrow, then you would install that one with the arrow pointing down, like I did in this video.

Just another quick video showing how to replace your cabin air filter in a 2013 Toyota Prius V. This is very easy to do and requires no tools. This is the same for years 2011-2017.

Air flow is up 🧐
Did he put it in upside down?
Thanks for the clear & easy to understand & follow. It literally takes under 5 minutes to complete the removal and replacement.

Do you know how to update the Navigation System in Toyota Prius V 2013.
Awesome! Thank You👍
Thanks for this info
Great video thanks!
Air flow is up, per the Car Owners Manual.
You see the video break at the moment he places the filter in, as well as the focus prevents you from seeing the arrow direction on filter. You can deduce air flow from dirt on original filter but Dan should of repeated the air flow and arrow direction at the moment you put the new filter in. Grrrrr!
No the manual says to make sure the arrow on the OEM filter is facing up. It doesn't say the air flow is up. Air flow is down. This after market filter does not have an up arrow.
Would the Toyota service schdule include checking the cabin air filter, or is this something we need to DIY?
They checked mine when they did an oil change and multi-point inspection. Suggested I change both engine and cabin air filters for $100 total! I think I'll go with doing it myself. LOL.
Thanks, man
thank you
