    That 700r4 in the 90 is fine w just swapping it over i use the pump in the tank w a regulator same as you did

      yeah depends on if it has the wiring or not. I think they ran truly full mechanical 700r4’s in the earlier models like the 87, 88 and 89. But like I said in the video, mine came with the 4L60 (MD8). because mine had the 3 wire 4 pin harness as I showed in the video.
      my block is the older early 80s style block which is factory to the truck, my guess is they had a bunch of them sitting around and they just slapped heads and an intake manifold on it, because it was bored for a mechanical fuel pump, I ran one for a while but I decided just to use the one in the tank.

    Where did you get the Q-Jet carb?

    • @westogarage
      @westogarage  2 года назад

      The carb that I have on there is a combination of parts from other carbs, I rebuild those water jets so I got plenty of parts. But that one is sitting around 650 to 675 CFM. But if you’re looking for one you can usually find them at junkyards. But I haven’t had good luck because they’re usually gone by the time the vehicle gets there. People really like them. Other than that you could try craigslist, Facebook marketplace, eBay etc. thanks for your interest!

      People either love or hate them lol if they are set up right and the right one for that cu in engine they are absolutely fantastic. Carbs that will give you years of trouble free service w out power valves failing and jets needing changed etc and when your on it theres no sound like it my buddies and I could hear ea other coming for miles w them moaning away lol that sound really carries at night for some reason lol

    • @glennmanchester5696
      @glennmanchester5696 Год назад

      Wait wait they only came in 750 and 800 cfm the older ones anyway

      Trust me man I know, that has been my saying for a long time, I rebuild them for people and also I rebuild them and sell them. I ran a Holley and an Edelbrock within two weeks of converting it, I hated them

      @@westogarageThanks. I'm concerned about the wiring and if I'll have to get another fuel pump. I just had it replaced in January. Hoping this project won't get to far out of control. I saved your video to my 94 truck playlist for reference.
