A video about your experience with your injury and the process of maintaining your health during that time and getting back into ballet would be not only fascinating but educational for a lot of ballet dancers. We don't talk about our injury experiences enough!

Maria was wearing sunglasses after her injury. It’s very possible that she doesn’t want to disclose the specific nature of what happened because in ballet it may involve a partner? This of course would lead to the next question … “who was your partner when you were injured?” Time will pass and any pain and guilt will be replaced by success. Maybe then she will feel more comfortable discussing the specific nature of what kept her away from the stage?

I’m so glad that you’re back! However I have to share that I’m disturbed that the Mariinsky is still performing this piece by Ratmansky after they refuse to acknowledge him on the Mariinsky website or in the program. It’s like it’s a ghost choreographer! But we all know the brilliant artist who made this work for NYCB. I wish you well in your career, stay healthy and strong!

Oh, wow, how lovely! I did feel like your performance was suffused with a deep joy and a different depth of emotion than we've seen before - it was just gorgeous. I'm so sorry that you had to experience so much pain and frustration to get to this point. From what you've shared, however, it does seem to have left you with new perspective on your art - perhaps that has been a gift after all.... My very best wishes for you that you continue to be injury free and stronger than ever.

As a disabled person who can barely walk to the end of the driveway without being in some kind of pain, I’m SO happy you are able to go back on stage, and look at everything in a new light, and have an even deeper appreciation for your art!!! I know how hard it is to be frustrated at your body for not being able to do something “normal” or even normal to you, and when your body fails you, it can be scary. Hopefully you never have to go through anything like that ever again! The dance was ✨gorgeous✨ and you are ✨stunning✨

Adorable, Maria. Truly adorable. And your outfit today is all a statement. I left ballet in 2019, due to a spine injury, since then i've been dancing just for recreation. Now i'm stuck in a strange hip injury and i know ballet is not in the cards for me anymore -even for fun-. We never know how much we can miss stage -even if it's not Mariinsky-, till we can't do it anymore. Good luck, my girl.

Maria, I found out that injuries are teachers for us. They test our patience and also our focus and revaluation of our life. You go on an emotional roller coaster from frustration to become comfortable in the stillness. Being able to go back to stage and do what you love the most is the most wonderful feeling. I felt grateful to my body for allowed me to learn and love what I have now in my life.

Dear Masha! You danced beautifully! In the last time, you have been a deep source of inspiration and motivation for me.
Yesterday, I attended one social occasion, which was opened by two rounds of performances by ballroom dancers from one of the dance school in my city. And as I watched, it deepely struck me when I realised how lucky I am to dance ballet. I have big respect for the dancers who performed as well as dancers of all other dance styles, but I have understood that ballet simply has such depth to it that no other dance style has. It is so deeply expresive, we perform to the most beautiful music and can give our audience so much more than just an esthetical experience - we tell stories, some with a very clear meaning, some from which everybody can take something different, for everybody's perception of what happenes in stage is different. I understood why I actually love ballet, it is because it speeks to the soul.
I wish much luck with returning back to a full on professional life. God bless you!

I'm so happy for you and for all of us that you are back dancing! It seems to me that when you were on stage I could see your feelings more than before. So very nice to see. I would love to hear about your injury and recovery very much and as for dance videos... If it is allowed I love the rehearsal videos the most x

I’m so happy for you! What a beautiful lesson to take away from a negative experience.
I think a video talking about how you took care of yourself during your recovery would be very interesting and educational, I’ve dealt with injuries when I was a young dancer and didn’t have the knowledge to care for my body properly, I still have some pains and aches from old injuries that I think could have been prevented with a proper recovery. All the love to you ❤

What an inspiration you are Maria. And what a beautifully expressive dance, so soft and light, to that wonderful Shostakovich piece. I had tears in my eyes watching you. Personally, I would love to see your dances 'clean' without a 'reaction' per se, but with a commentary from yourself afterwards (possibly with little clips highlighting the points you are making) ❤

I have so many thoughts and memories when experiencing your vids! This one is ("was" : January 2023) more special for the reasons you say. I love your tunic/blouse; the fabric and color and wow! I also wish you continued success after injury and recovery. For many passions injuries are TOO much for mortals to bear! And such an important and wide ranging topic. Thank you for this Shostakovich! I also like to imagine the thoughts of the choreographers. And the supported dancing is very lovely here! Wish you athlete's health and guardian spirits!

Bless you Maria! Going through a terrible injury and being able to come back so well is a sign of a true professional! If you can, please do the video of your recovery experiences. It would be helpful for ballet students to know what a dancer must do to keep dancing!

True art is when expression extends beyond the stage and sets in a lasting impression - for me that's pure brilliance. . .spa-c-ba for sharing. . .

Dear Maria, I‘m so happy for you 💚 hopefully you can savor every moment in your upcoming performances.
The format of today‘s video was perfect, in my opinion: with the pure video-bit in the beginning, I was able to enjoy the music and your dance without any preconceptions and have your commentary as a bonus in the end to shine a light on what you were doing. Loved it :)
