I am sorry that you have been feeling poorly. I hope that you get better soon.
Thanks for the info on the jnats. That finisher sure was a nice looking color.
I have made several wood blocks to fix razors that have been neglected and to reshape poorly ground razors. When making all the shapes, it is much easier and cheaper to make from wood than all the stones it would take. So for the final refinements I would like to shape some stones when I get my own shaping plate.
But I get what you mean about loosing the joy of working with natural stones. The stones imprint a quality that you can not get with synthetics or sandpaper.
I would have a hard time getting rid of some of the Shefield razors that I have to try out Solingen.
I look forward to more of your videos and hope you enjoy your hunting season.
Thanks again for sharing and take care.

Oh I am back to my old self. Just trying to play catch up. Yea, I do not judge anyone in their choice of hone. If you’re happy, I’m happy. Honing on rocks, maximizing the end result and enjoying the fruits of my labor is what has drawn me into this. It’s just my preference. I just culled thru a few old Sheffields that did not get used or were a little small for my liking. I am happy where I stand on razor assortments. Take Robert and thanks for watching.

Your video work is getting good. Great angle and audio. Liked the Irish music in the background also. As always, enjoyed to watch your technique. Cheers.

Hi Eric, I have tried the "film on a stick" on two razors now.. One brand new Bismarck and then on my recent goto daily shaver a TI Le Grelot and it works a treat, can only recommend for now.
    Hope you feel better soon.
    Regards Johan

Oh it’s apparent it works. And I thinks it’s a genius idea for back beveling. I may make me some to try it out. I enjoy rubbing on rocks, I am not knocking the concept. That guy that does the video for Jarod is so good of a narrator he another has me talked into it 🤣😜.

    Nice vid.
Glad you are back in the saddle.
No surpise to me that you rebelled against my advice to shape JNat stones.
Oh well, somebody has to innovate and advance with their own stuff.
THE FIRST SUPERCURVE JNAT RAZOR GUY. 👍
Although I think they sharpen some knives on a convexed stone in Japan.

Hi Bill, just look at Katana polishing, and you will see some really curved stones..

@@dnamol it is an observation that I have made. All cutting…is an act of force in which thinner wins over thicker. I have been looking at asymmetrical grind Japanese knives for slicing, but not made a purchase yet.

Sean, It does appear as if our Brother Eric has done gone and jumped the fence only to land in with that bunch known on the B&B to be “the Rabid Minority”. Unfortunately for them there will always be those who decide it is perfectly acceptable to do as they please with their own stuff.
I have always been hesitant to recommend grinding away at exquisite JNats. We can easily see how far my advice goes….🤣
