When you mount the LNB and put the cover on be sure to put some RTV in all the empty bolt holes. Bees, wasps and hornets absolutely love making nests in the feedhorn covers
Very educational can you ever see if there is a dual c ku feed with out blue several motor try it out see how it does on your big dish for both bands c and ku ...going to install older system next summer but has older c ku chapprell with server motor would be interesting to see new type dual c ku in action thanks

Not that I am aware of. The key is setting up the dish and LNB as accurately as possible for the satellite you are trying to receive. I say this because I use inexpensive equipment and it works well if it is set up as carefully as possible.
The LNB is the sensitive component, as for the satellite dish the bigger the better, the dish is not sensitive but as time goes by it gets bended by the wind and rusty from rain and snow and will make the reception worse, after 10 years you have to replace your dish in some cases after 4 or 5 years. The dish is the passive element, it's a reflector that only focuses the signal on the LNB. The coaxial cable must be mandatory an RG6 tri shield or RG6 quad shield, if you use an RG59 or 3C2V cable the reception is poor and you won't receive some channels even if you have a large dish and a very good LNB. Newer models of LNBs have a better reception than older LNBs. For example if you compare an LNB from 2011 with a LNB bought in 2021 you will notice that the signal strength and signal quality is much higher on the 2021 LNB model than the 2011 LNB model used on the same dish. The AMIKO LNBs and RT Inverto LNBs have the best reception and can be used with small dishes and on long cables. On large dishes not only you get the best signal even on weak transponders but sometimes you can receive satellites or transponders out of your footprint. There are some LNBs that do not perform well and have issues with long cables and weak transponders. The dish and the LNB must be pointed accurately for the best reception in this case I recommend a digital meter, you will do a great job pointing the dish compared with the satellite receiver. Sometimes you may have a problem with your receiver either you have an old receiver, it can be a software problem, it happened with some receivers and the problem was solved with an update, or you are unlucky and you bought a receiver with a faulty tuner, or you may have short circuited your tuner. Another advice is that if you want to receive both C-band and Ku Band avoid the C/Ku Band LNBs, they are crap either they do not perform well on Ku band or don't perform on both bands, it is better to have two satellite dishes one for Ku Band and the second for C Band and you can connect them using a switch so you can have only one cable to your receiver and don't have to connect and disconnect the cable every time you want to watch another satellite. Information that is added from my side and I do the same mistake on my Offset dish with the Flat-Feed. This Flat-Feed will only work on PFA (Prime Focus Antenna) dish. On a Offset Dish you need a Conus-Feed and the reason is that a Conus-Feed are watching inside the dish like a Oval-Lamp (torch lamp). The Flat-Feed is watching into the PFA dish like a Round circular. Best Regards Volker from Vienna Thumbs up 29.

i am using a prime focus 4 feef dish with a scalar feed horn,but i want to use both lnb,s c band and ku band ,replacing each other as required can u suggest a solution, your channel very informative and practical
