Ana, is a counter to enemy healing, generally speaking, with the only exception being Kiriko. But she isn't a counter to any specific support heroes, at all... She's just a counter to healing.
@@MyouKyuubi It cleanses, but that also means Moira has to use her cooldown. Ana normally can have a bit of a rough time in a 1v1 simply because Moira has better self-sustain and doesn't need to hit precise shots, but I've made the experience that Moiras who get in fights with the enemy Ana do one out of two things:
1: They use their fade to get in range, meaning it'll be on cooldown at the begin of the fight
2: If they didn't do that and get anti-nades, it usually scares them into heading back to their own team instead of trying to harass the enemy backline
Suggestion: Make a video with a counter for every hero but have it per role so people know how to counter in their respective roles

Brigitte is a good counter for Sombra too, since she's always swinging her Flail, often times she hits a invisible Sombra
Not really, with Sombra's detection range being increased it forces her to keep her distance so the flail won't really be an issue.
Idk how sojourn wasn’t a hog counter. She builds her railgun so fast off of him and it’s usually only 2 headshots to take him down (assuming there is some team follow up)

Moira is a counter for Genji. She can attack through his reflect, dodge his slash and can keep up with his escape. Never had a problem with Genji when I’m Moira
As a genji main I back this up. Tracking can be a a little annoying too. Moiras can usually be pretty scary to go against.

@@OW12354 not entirely accurate. Although I do tend to find my own team tends to counter me more than my opponents. It's hard to effectively support comps that play spread out without wasting fade.
As for counters... Pharmacy can be a bitch as she tends to force out or look for fade and oftentimes she's outside moiras effective range. The only real benefit to playing moira into her is if you can build coal quickly it can end the pharmacy threat when your teammates fail to deal with it. Widow and Hanzo specifically can also be a pain as their one shot damage effectively neutralizes the biggest benefit of orb and you have to play around their sightlines. Taking a fight with Torbjorn is generally unadvisable as you arnt killing him if he has his armor up available and his damage at close range is greater than orb can handle. and if youre trying to outheal/counter bastion youre an idiot... just switch to anna/bap and be done with it.
@@rockstermaniac Ok. I still think moira is just annoying. It's like you try your best, just to get killed by someone that doesn't even aim at you, and has an overpowered ricocheting ball of aimbot.
@@OW12354 flip side, you spend all the time and effort getting really good at a support that requires skill only to die instantly because someone who jumps around more than a bunny hopper in call of duty hit a button that makes him teleport through your body instantly.
Junkrat can actually be a solid Lucio counter, especially on Payload/Hybrid maps.
Lucios will usually, in an effort to stall the payload, constantly jump and wallride all over it, barely getting hit in the process. By throwing a trap down on the payload itself, Junkrat just made it a whole lot easier to deal with.
As an Junkrat main: yes Lucio and tracer are the 2 heroes that always manage to land in my trap. With Tracer usually dying to it as well lol.

Lucios, regardless if they're wallriding or not, will always (at some point) walk on the payload itself.

At the beginning of the video it would be safe to say that there is a somewhat universal advice:
1. Sombra is a counter to anything, especially to abilities-reliant characters. And in this regard her hack is especially strong against characters whose abilities strongly increase their survivability, like Tracer, Roadhog, and annoyingly sturdy Mei and Torbjorn, which is often crucial in long sweaty teamfights. A lot of it needs an ammediate follow-up to actually get a kill and gain the advantage, but nonetheless.
2. Hitscans are overall decent pressure characters and can be a counter to anything without shields IF they can actually click heads, if not killing the target fast then baiting out enemy team's abilities or forcing targets out of position.
3. Kiriko is not a direct counter to anything, but her suzu counters a lot of abilities, like Cassidy's sticky nade, Ana's anti-heal nade, JQ's bleeding, Sombra's hack, Roadhog's hook, Reinhardt pins (etc, the list is long), and some ultimates if timed right.

@@NoroiNo139 not a speck of complaining here dude, I am not that good for Sombra to target me 😁 That's just an observation: a hero who can disable the abilities of any hero is de-facto a counterpick to any hero. Wouldn't you agree? I'm not saying there's nothing to complain about though, no sane person would deny that she's op with cooldowns being too short. Sombra is fluid and very fun to play, I wonder how they would further balance her without ruining it.
You could make this argument about any upper tier hero imo. My counter to your claim would be that Sombra’s hack NEEDS to be followed up on by your team to secure the kill, which you agreed with, and at that point you are no longer talking about a single 1v1 counter hero. As a tank and DPS I never get killed by Sombra’s although they are an extremely annoying thorn in the side.

@@The0nlyy you are right. But then again, not everything in the video was about 1v1 it feels. And tbh, one of the examples, following this logic there is no direct counter to Roadhog, since any fight with him most likely would be long enough to either your or his teammates join it. Let's say, my comment is a food for thougt that could be appreciated in the context of "trying to counter".
I would say Zen is a very good counter to Hog and Moira is really good against Genji.

The issue with Zen is that he has no answers to the hook combo. He just gets snacked. Sure, he can deal significant damage and make the Hog very vulnerable but it's still a super dangerous match-up for him.

Sigma is also a good counter to reaper. Kinetic grasp eats up all of reapers shots, plus his ult. You can stun him out if ult and block off his flanks with your shield.
As a Sigma main I love seeing enemy reapers ult because I'll purposely jump into it and kinetic grasp it up. You can rock him after and then shoot reaper which usually kills him
I actually find Winston to be a great Zarya counter... you can leap all around her and pick off or put pressure on her teammates forcing her to peel more instead of be more aggressive... plus Winston can bait Zarya's go easily waste bubbles and even juggle her easily with Primal
As someone who’s played a lot of Zarya I definitely agree, Winston can be annoying af

@@Xardian7 maybe it’s just me but I can counter d.va way better with sigma instead of zarya, I fell like with sigma you can actually block most of her abilities, with zarya you can just deal damage, and bubble the character that is getting dived, but you have the downside that you are forced to bait the matrix before using grav

To everyone who insta clicked the video, sombra has no counter guys.
Hanzo is the best Sombra counter. Sonic arrow reveals her stealth which can zone her out from good spots, he really doesn’t care all that much about being hacked. Hack can’t interrupt any of his abilities if they are already active like sonic, volley or dragon and he wins any duel as he can one shot her and his arrows are confortqbly to aim at Sombras own effective Range. Arrow volley also puts lots of pressure on her when she’s try to hack and duel any of Hanzos teammates.
On tank I don't care I just kill her. On DPS i go reaper because hacked reaper is whatever to a sombra. On Support I go brig and play with my team.

pharah is pretty dope against most backline players, granted they don't have a solid Soldier or Sojourn , actively targeting you. Pharah with god-tier heals = nasty (and very fun)
her and pocket mercy are terrorizing low ranks rn cus no body can aim nor any awareness

To people who don't know, Ramattra is a good counter to Sigma, because he has a shield, and if he gets close, switching to his other form to punch through shields is very useful.
Rein is actually a good counter to zarya too. He can negate damage she does and as long as he can dictate the tempo of their fights in tank match ups. Swing to bait bubbles, hide behind shield to wait for bubble to naturally pop and he does steady enough dmg that he can just bully her. It's not fool proof, but it's a strong strat my small group has been developing, plus environmental charge kills where you send her off a cliff if she gets too aggressive.
as a sigma main, i've found that the hardest counter to him is winston. you can't block his damage with your barrier or kinetic grasp. also, winston's barrier works extremely well against sigma's primary fire and especially his rock as you can easily just duck behind it or even leap out of the way when you see a rock coming. sigma being super slow doesn't help either since winston can easily chase him down.
This! But also an aggressive Rein can do a lot of damage to Sigma. Since Rein needs to be in your face and Sigma's terrible with close range enemies.
Also a Sigma main and the ones I have the most problem with are characters who can easily close the gap. Brig gives me a lot of trouble with her mace, and Zarya of course because she will just outplay Sigma 9/10 up close.
I can agree with a aggressive rein and of course Winston but what about Zarya.
There are several imperfections here.
1- Sombra EMP DO NOT counter Lucio beat anymore. Stop saying this, is your 3rd video with this error in it.
2- Kiriko actually is really good into Sombra. If you can aim you can force Sombra out and she can cleanse hack away from teammates.
3- Dva do not counter Sombra in the current patch. Yes she can spot her easier but perma-hack Dva (as shown for Sigma) is incredibly effective especially if Dva use her mobility to dive Sombra’s team.
Dva used to be good against sombra in OW1 but is now less effective since is a solo tank.
The best Sombra counter is Torbjorn by a large margine.

As a sombra main, I usually have a hard time against accurate Hanzo players since he can one shot sombra before she complete her hack... I'm not sure if the problem is the matchup or only me being down bad against him tho lol

Torb instead with good turret placement can really mess up with you and overhealth + shotgun is a great way to keep your supports safe.
Seems that Sombra now can hack the turret while invis, dunno if is true since torb was out of the game and that was not the case in Beta2. In case we can hack turret from invis it nerfs a ton Torb against us.
It's really funny how Moira actually counters literally everyone except tanks. She can even harass Junker, Hog, doom in 1v1. Yes, she has no headshot potential or anything like that but if playing as any dps or support, you have about 2 MAYBE 3 seconds to quickly headshot her or you are dead. And that is if you saw her coming. Mostly you hear nothing at all and she is already in the backline.
I hate her and whoever gave the go ahead for her approval. It's a character designed for 5 year olds. You don't even have to aim!
The thing is though, if a Moira is playing like this, she’s not healing her team and honestly isn’t being super helpful.

@@lust8796 Except she’d have to aim that orb weirdly in the middle of fighting because she’s wildly out of position and her teammates will have to chase it if they want any significant healing.
Also just…just shoot her. You have plenty of time to react if you’re not like…bronze. She only does 50 dps unless she wastes her damage orb and her fade, while powerful, has a 6 second cooldown.
I find it harder for her to aim nowadays atleast. You should of been around when she first got released in ow1, the tracking was way easier and disgusting lol.

Literally all you need for a counter is:
1. Diver like Winston, Dva, Genji, Moira if you can't break frontline and/or want to target their supports.
2. Tank shredder like Reaper, Symmetra, Roadhog.
3. There's also the air thing - picking hitscan against air and picking air into grouded stuff like Junkrats, Reapers, Brigs.
It’s not saying much if a character is countered by Zarya, sombra, or Ana.
You know this guy Reaper.
I heard he's a solid Winston Counter.
@Gameleap Overwatch 2 Guides, Sombra's EMP does not completely remove Sound Barrier anymore. Instead it does % based damage based on the amount of Beat remaining. If you gain 1000 total HP from beat, then EMP will remove 400 HP.
It just deals 40% max health damage, including shields, overhealth and armor.
@@AmoAster 40% current, not max. Hence why it can’t get kills on low hp targets.
Idk how Dva is a Reaper counter in either a duel or mid game. Because if she uses her rockets and her defense matrix to attack Reaper he can phase through them and then close the distance to blast her mech, essentially the only the thing you have to worry about is the rockets. Especially if he’s playing on a flank where he’s most likely gonna be in a hallway. I find Reaper to be so effective against Dva that I often target her to remove her from the fight or to farm ult.
I always eat Reapers ult when I use Dva. Basically, if youte trying to play a tank but don't want to be instantly melted by reaper, use Dva
Nah dog, as a dva main, reaper is on my list of easy claps.
Its easy to bait out his phase, you just have to play aggressive and push him around by flying into him a bunch, then once he uses his phase, just rocket the shit out of him.
@@Ebelon D. Va is solid, Reinhard can actually be pretty good because his charge nearly one-hits Reaper, Orisa can pretty much gimp his damage output and has an advantage over him at higher ranges (and she can push him back both with her spin and her javelin throw).
Though I'd say there's much better counters. Widow and Hanzo can just one-hit him and he's a pretty big and slow target. A fully charged Sojourn Railgun headshot also one-hits. Ashe can two-shot him from a pretty solid range. Hell, a good hit with a fully charged Zenyatta volley will utterly wreck Reaper, especially with discord orb.
I'd say pretty much all of the tanks are mediocre at best against Reaper and some of them like Winston and Doomfist have an awful match-up against him.
You want mid-to high range burst damage.
Ana main and I always handle Reaper by myself by blocking his healing ability

On my personal opinion, I think that DVa has a harder time dealing with Tracer, because on my experience, DVa has a hard time defending herself from back attacks
And for Tracer, I think that Sombra it's the best counter for her, because with the Hack, Sombra makes Tracer completely defenseless
i just wanna add a pretty good counter against roadhog, a tank counter would be orissa. her defensive self buff negates his hook and ultimate as well as her spear spin. roadhog can heal himself and she cant do a whole lot about it but ive noticed it makes hog basically useless and securing picks when i get in his way
As Orisa, wait for hog to start his heal and then spear him. It’ll cancel his heal and you can finish him off.
Solid enough advice. I saw a simular list the other day where someone genuinely suggested Junkrat as a Tracer counter. Exclusively based on his trap potentially messing with her flanking routes.
Maybe I'm just not experienced enough with the game but normally I would assume that if I want to counter-pick an enemy DPS with a DPS of my own, I won't use one that basically stands no chance in a straight fight between the two due to his slow awkward projectiles.
Genuinely don't know what those people were thinking.
It's mainly his c4 ability and trap that make him decent against a tracer.
Lucio’s beat doesn’t get removed from EMP anymore by the way.. its overhealth now not shields
Sombra is also pretty good against Doomfist since his bullets aren’t strong enough on their own, without his kit.
His kit probably barely kills her

orisa is a lot more scary as a kiriko compared to sombra because you can’t headshot with fortify making her damage so much worse. at least with sombra you still have a chance to 2 shot her while hacked
im finding Orisa is a good counter to alot of people lol. Ive been getting nasty with her haha
For me personally the hardest Kiriko counters are shield tanks, especially Reinhard, since when played well they render you unable to headshot, while you can't even contribute any significant dmg to the shields to help bring them down. Sombra is easily taken down, when you're careful, due to her fair hitbox and easily predictable moveset. Careful Sombras will relocate the moment you hit your headshot, recless ones will be killed easily with the 2nd
Sombra I feel is the biggest zen counter, he can't trance heal his team if he can't get out of spawn, she has the translocator and she runs while invis so she can essentially be two places at once, one being a health pack close to her team's fight and the other being right infront of the spawn where the zen will walk out and immediately get shredded

Solder is a great counter to sojourn bc of the bullet velocity being slower and needing to lead your shots, where soldier has hitscan and has a way easier time hitting shots especially in mid- long range, it’s just a straight easier gun and I guarantee unless your hitting rails if your opponent has even relatively matched aim your gonna die in a mid range 1v1
Also pharaoh works pretty well, as long as you know how to avoid the rail guy shot, it’s usually hard for Sojourn to take you out of the air with her regular projectile shots. As long as you stay high enough, there’s not a lot she can do until she gets her charges up. That said, once she gets that charge or her ult you need to be out.
Your speaking nothing but facts I play with soldier 76 as my main player. I've destroyed sojourn 1v1 countless times. If you aim well and deplete her health to 20% you just use helix rocket to finish her off. I can't lie a pro Sojourn can counter me the same and win but I've done well so far.

Genji is the best widow counter he can attack from anywhere and his reflect is good with dealing with her at any range and he doesn't need a cool down to get to where she is unless you wanna swift strike to close the distance and winston basically makes her unplayable too sombra is map dependent mainly because sometimes you can't just get to a widow without them hearing your locator

Also gonna throw this out there, a good counter to Sigma is Pharah, unless he hits the rock he has no way to hit her that high in the air but she can just rain ammo down from above on him
As a Sig main, Pharah isn't really that bad... yes it's hard for Sig to hit her in the air but Sig has a very flexible shield and can block out your spamming plus his shield can allow his hitscan teammates to take some shots at ya

In personal opinion and game experience I'm gonna say the best counter for Mei is Kiriko because her Protection Suzu can take away the ice effect of multiple friendlies plus making all of them invulnerable

Zarya’s so busted even the dev team can’t/won’t counter her
Another guide Brigette counter I found being a 1500 hour brig main is Winston, hes very mobile and her shield doesn't block his damage output so all you can really hope for is pushing him away

IMO, you should've listed counters/advantageous characters for each role instead of picking one role. One counter per hero format just doesn't work well ever since role Q was added.

Think torb is also a great anti boll because of the turret again exposing flanks, having precise aim, and torb being able to refuse to die with overload. Had so many games where I swamped to torb to just cause pressure on the boll and it begin to become less effective due to the constant threat of 140 headshots, turret shooting mines making ult useless, and the shotgun headshots of course just going boom.

Biggest counter for Moira it's dva. She has defense matrix and can defend her damage ball + she has 650 health and can easily kill her with rockets and her boost
Orisa as well. People don't know yet but her twirl negates Maria's orbs as well. Just like defense matrix.
I play reaper a lot and I don’t think dva is a hard counter to reaper. Only his ult but I usually win a 1v1 against a dva. You should switch hog and dva. Its easy to hook a reaper and 1 shot him because he is mostly playing at close range but if hog misses his hook then reaper counters hog so it’s a 50/50
as somebody who flex que's almost constantly and has enough hours in OW2 to have completed the battlepass, I have a few other suggestions for people. Specifically for more problematic heroes...
good diva counter is actually symmetra, as her primary fire goes through matrix and her turrets can catch out a baby diva who isn't paying attention when she ults. you would be shocked how often a diva ults and moments later she dies randomly to a turret without being able to re-mech.
good genji counter is mei, as her ult directly counters nano blade and her primary fire ignores his deflect. also, ice block is a get out of jail free card if you are dived.
roadhog is a surprisingly good counter to any hero with annoying movement. I will often switch off of a meta tank to play hog instead if they have an annoying tracer or genji, or even a problematic Lucio.
on that note of roadhog, he is also a shockingly good counter to reaper if you are experienced enough to know how to one-shot him consistantly. In low ELO, reaper is often so problematic because of his massive health pool and crazy good sustain. oftentimes, inexperienced DPS or tanks just lose to him because of how forgiving he is. a direct one shot kill from a hogs hook combo is one of the only options to shut him down in those cases.
if you are being harassed by a backlining Moira as support, you might be shocked to know that ana is actually a really surprising pick to shut her down. Trick is to go on close to her instead of running away, close the gap. As long as you can land 2 basic attacks, the Combo is basic+nade+basic+melee attack and she will die. if you closed the gap, even if that combo fails, throwing the nade at your feet to hit you AND the Moira will mean that both she got antihealed, and you got healed to reset the fight. It's a really easy fight to win.
Ana is also a really solid rein counter. if you notice his shield break and you know he is left without it, it's a great time to sleep or purple him and your team will probably take the opportunity to take him out. his sleep is also great for saving teammates caught in his charge.
roadhog counters Winston well. He has surprisingly good peel for your supports if they get dived and honestly, Winston's usually switch off if you start harassing them as roadhog.
zarya is a solid hog counter that isn't talked about much. Being able to bubble yourself or a teammate who has been hooked is super valuable.

I’m glad I found this video because usually the best way I’ve countered a good reaper is by punching my monitor repeatedly.

She is awful
I think most people don't like her cause she had no movement meaning no escape from aggresive plays. Her sleep dart is usable but most of the time is on cooldown.

I've found that the best counter for a sombra is another sombra in the sense that you wait in your backline invisible for her to pop up and hack her so she's trapped.
Sym is a great counter to genji. He can’t deflect her laser, and you can have turrets set up when he dashes in

I would Recommend to show clips of that situation you are discribing, to give an example of how it looks like in Gameplay to counter each hero. those random clips seems kinda weird. But great Video!!!

Winston is a great counter to genji, especially with bubble peaking. I've found Orisa is also a great counter to Roadhog, since her golden form cant be hooked, her spinning wand also cant be hooked, and her spear can cancel his heal.
When the counter is dps or tank but you play support in role queue.
Counter pick guides are mostly only useful by giving one counter in each role.
Another counter for roadhog is orisa because she can cancel his self heal with her javellin and her fortify cancels his hook
This is good information to be sure but it would be nice to have a similar video for counters for each hero with each of the 3 roles. You would have to be lucky enough to be playing the correct role in order to utilize this information.
I find hanzo a great counter to widow, unpredictable and able to use locator arrow to figure out where to prefire

Honestly, I think Sombra is a pretty good Torb counter too, if he has a turret up, she can constantly just hack it and Torb himself so he won't be able to make another turret somewhere else. Or use Overload to run away.
You should do one of each class, cuz a tank can't just switch to reaper to counter Winston, but he can switch to hog (didn't watch yet so idk if he says reaper counters Winston)
i'm new to the game but i recently played against a sombra as widowmaker. That b*tch made her whole mission to kill me. i spawn, try to find some place to snipe people, sombra appears kills me and goes invisible again... this happened 4-5 times and forced me to switch...
reapers direct counter is hog btw, that hook is lethal to reaper, diva you can literally circle point blank and her matrix becomes useless

i also think that sombra is a good mercy counter, her hack stops her GA ability hence stopping mercy’s movement and stopping her from flying, and thats the one thing she has to defend herself

Idk how reaper wasn't hogs counter. If you get hooked, you can wraith form to dodg the initial shot, hogs hitbox is massive so easy to farm health after getting hooked, and reaper just deals more damage up close than what he can heal
Im surprised your genji counter isn’t mei or zarya. They both have beams and shields that make diving annoying and ways to make your blade have no resets. Lucio is just a matter of using ur blade after his ult or getting it before it; and zen is countered by nanoblade

Dva is a great counter against a roadhogimo cause if a team gets hooked I just gotta jump in and absorb the shrapnel

His huge hit box is perfect for her and you can easily put a wall in front of his tower to make it totally ineffective
