man you deserve the Peace Novel, no joke. congrats for your educational and motivational work on the kids... i wish i've had the motivation back then...
The player that influenced me the most was duncan edwards.most wold not know about him.he was a Manchester United player who died in the munich air disaster at a very young age
Great to see the "Best" player receive some well-deserved praise on RUclips! People should remember him for how he lived, not how he died. R.I.P. George Best.
First time I ever saw George play was at Upton Park in 1967, couldn't believe his control, speed and how he beat people using different moves. We won 6-1 against a West-Ham team that contained Moore, Hurst and Peters, they were no slouches. I'd already moved to San Jose when George came and played for the Earthquakes; it was unbelievable watching him score THAT goal using the very move you talk about in the video. I later met him, (my idol) as we both drank at the only British pub in San jose.
I would have loved to have sen him. You are so lucky. I love that in the game against West Ham he told the corner taker to give him the ball coz he was going to score. and he did, by taking on loads of players! What a player
My son has two authentic signed photos of footballers on his wall, Duncan Edwards and George Best he is, 13 and been told not to dribble or beat players, but pass. I can see both of these great footballers rolling their eyes in disbelief. Great video.
I'm actually a girl on my older cousins account and I think that Mia Hamm has influenced me the most in my time as a footballer and my dream is to score a goal with the USWNT. I've actually scheduled extra practices so I can get better and I have also watched your videos on the correct stretches and food/drinks to eat and I can out-do my whole team in free styling. :) Thank you so much for all the videos!
Steve is very talented and the proof is that he's showing us a variety of skills and just by mentioning George Best I already liked and shared the video. Good Job Steve!
Great advice! I always try to emphasize to my team mates and younger players that you don't need flash to beat a player, you just need to throw them off balance and create some space to move into
Messi will always be the best..! None of the players can ever meet his excellence of control, dribbling and solo goals.. Also, no one has ever won 5 ballon d' or in history except 'The Lord Messi'... In fact, none of the players have even won 4 of them.. 😂😂😁😁
Ronaldinho. One of my favourite players of all time, and possibly the greatest. He's definitely up there with Pele and Maradona. He influenced my play style greatly; from the dribbling to the free kicks and even the boots. He's one of kind.
Thank you for the recommendation to go watch some George Best highlights. I have always enjoyed your videos and tried incorporating a few of the moves into my arsenal, but for the most part I have always been a player that uses the inside and outside of my feet with little head jukes and fake shots to create space and beat defenders, very George Best like. I would never try to compare my self to him, but his style reminded me of how I love to play football.
Great video STR! Most of the other skills you show are elborate stepover roulette 360 somethings but this was such a simple and easy couple of ways to beat a defender without having a high chance of stuffing them up
As a boy i was fortunate to see George play. Some survey's of the all time top 10 greatest players hasn't even mentioned George ?? Documented by some of the worlds greatest defenders of the day, here are just a couple that had the utmost respect. Georges natural ball skills & balance was an absolute nightmare to play against. Those that remember the hard nut defenders e.g Norman hunter ( Leeds UTD ) & chopper Harris (Chelsea) have tried to kick the shit out of him.If they could only work out which direction he was going ?. Right or left foot,it didn't matter, not like the pampered one footed over paid pansies of today. Made it look easy because he was that genius called GEORGE BEST ( RIP ).
If i could i put a million likes on this video such simple skills are better than doing a lot of tricks often guys that do lots of tricks a good dribblers but can only do it one on one because they spend a lot of time doing tricks and simulations while people that dribble like that with those simple feints and quick turns of direction often can dribble 3 or 4 players in one run so thank you for this awesome video its going to help me a lot and rest in peace George Best
Even though you kind of dissed him I have to say Ronaldo. His dedication to be the best, his 1v1 skills, his goal scoring skills shooting with either foot left foot, right foot, and head. Love him.
My greatest of all time and inspiration is Ronaldinho, cause of the speed and the skills he had and also the touch he made on the ball was really impressive and its one of the few reasons why I look up to Ronaldinho.
Hey STR :) I watch your videos and I really like them you changed the way how I play football by making all your great videos so thank you STR & keep up the good work :D
Mine is Bestie too. :D His charectors off the pitch just added to my opinion of him on it. If he was this good despite all his shenanigans, imagine how good he would have been if he was more disciplined!
***** For me growing up, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a huge inspiration.. The importance of positioning! And a no-nonsense finish. It was simply amazing to see the impact he'd have on a match, even coming on with 10 minutes left! An important thing to understand as a youngster - You're never out of contention if you just stay focussed!!
hi steve My name is faye and i love football. I play for my county and I'm trailing for academies at the moment. What would the best skill be for me to use in an everyday game?
I think that the "best player ever" discussion always boils down to personal preference. Besides, we can't really compare defenders with attackers, for instance. Personally I think that the top 3 of all time were Cruyff, Garrincha and Maradona. But I change my mind pretty much everytime I make myself that question, haha.
Johan cryuff wz a revolutionary genius.. Could u make a video of his playing style n also would love to see a bergkamp playing style vid.... U are doing a great job brother...
I said Zidane and Maradona before but I also love Krasimir Balakov of Bulgaria and Dragan Stojkovic of Yugoslavia. Also Dejan Petkovic is very skillful and successful in Brazilian league.
Amazing speed and balance, pin point passing and crossing, read the game like a telepath and a brilliant eye for goals. Just that most people who've seen him live are dead
Ronaldo Nazario Da Lima was my inspiration. George Best was from my dads era, and i think he was the best dribbler. YOu are right, not a lot of players weave the ball back and forth these days and the pay the price by losing it. Goo+od drill
u done any vids on effective defending yet? I would love to see just some pointers or skills that could be very useful as a defender or when playing a more defensive game as most tutorials are aimed at midfielders and forwards.
maradona he is a genius great dribbiling and his ability to weave through player amazing i may be 12 but i watch alot of vid i go to the every day i even have his boot Puma King Classic its amazing i love it i will check out the geogre best vids thanks STR
Of course George Best!!! Definitely one of the best players in United's history along with Duncan Edwards. Especially when he had Charlton and Law by his side. As good as Ronaldo and Messi if not better.
Hey Steve when I do the little inside/outside touches the ball always goes a little to far for my liking how can I improve on keeping it closer? Just by practicing this?
Pelé once said that George Best was the most skilful player that he ever saw. Now that's a compliment !!
That guys is fried. One day he says something and the other day he says something.
This player means a lot to me. Hope you enjoy the tutorial #georgeBest #football #soccer #tutorial
simply pele
me too...man utd also means a lot to me
To be honest (and this is pretty cliche) Ronaldinho really influenced my play style and made me better
I love Ronaldinho's style of play
ronaldinho is my inspiration
The best of all time and greatest inspiration - Johan Cruyff!
Did he actually say that my god his second name says it all
man you deserve the Peace Novel, no joke. congrats for your educational and motivational work on the kids... i wish i've had the motivation back then...
The player that influenced me the most was duncan edwards.most wold not know about him.he was a Manchester United player who died in the munich air disaster at a very young age
Duncan Edwards the greatest player to kick a ball. Followed by Best.
gary hatter, no chance. then why is duncan never mentiond in the same breath as best, pele, maradona.......
Great to see the "Best" player receive some well-deserved praise on RUclips! People should remember him for how he lived, not how he died. R.I.P. George Best.
George best was the greatest player ever

The George Best skills are very close to Leonel Messi, in my opinion.
sture troly yeah and George Best was first.... so what does that tell you?
After watching George Best's goals. I realised why your idol is George Best.He makes awsome cuts. Really never saw any player do those skills.
Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, and Thomas Muller are my biggest inspiration.
me two
too
I would have loved to have sen him. You are so lucky. I love that in the game against West Ham he told the corner taker to give him the ball coz he was going to score. and he did, by taking on loads of players! What a player

best was an amazing player he could just dribble past anyone not many players can do that today except messi (ronaldo fan)
Steve is very talented and the proof is that he's showing us a variety of skills and just by mentioning George Best I already liked and shared the video. Good Job Steve!
Best was best off all time
This is truly the best tutorial in all of RUclips
the reason people don't play like Best anymore is because defenders don't commit easily like they used to.
So true.
DaAshman no it's not like that defenders are just more improved
What about Messi?
Even though today's defender can't. Beat George best skill simple skill is more effective than fancy tricks
I have watched this video about 5 times cuz it's soooo good thank you Steve your my favorite player
Pele , Maradona , George best
Great advice! I always try to emphasize to my team mates and younger players that you don't need flash to beat a player, you just need to throw them off balance and create some space to move into

My name is faye and i love football. I play for my county and I'm trailing for academies at the moment. What would the best skill be for me to use in an everyday game?
