I know two things after watching this: 1. I do not and will never have the patience to make canes. 2. That is a fuckload of of clay. That's like $40 worth of clay tomatoes right there.
You are a great artist! Love your work.
Thank you for your compliment!🌷 I didn't like to make canes before because they never turned out good... I hated it! :( But I kept making them because I needed them for my other projects. After some time I discovered a couple of things:
1️⃣ FIMO "Professional" is the best clay for making canes!
2️⃣ I use clay with the same hardness because hard clay will push out soft clay while reducing/shaping the cane.
3️⃣ I use glass bevels - it helps me to avoid cane ends distorting.
4️⃣ and keep practicing! :)
I get better and better with time in making canes. And now I enjoy making them! It is very interesting!
Another thing: I sell my clay jewelry, it is my full-time job. So I need a LOT of clay and canes :).
If it is your hobby, I would recommend making this cane (and other canes from my tutorials) using a few times smaller amounts of clay. Another reason I make my canes large - it is easier for viewers to understand and follow the process :)
@@polinacreations7729 wow! Great tips! Ahaha, making canes as a beginner is making me sad. He was right about the massive amount of clay used in this video. Do you prefer to purchase in bulk from Fimo directly?
@@BobSmith.... Thank you! Oh, I feel your pain (making canes is struggling for me as well!) It needs a lot of practice 😉
You are right 👉 I use a lot of clay, this helps me to show the process clearly to my viewers. And I sell my creations made from these canes so I need a lot of them 😁. You need to adjust the amount of clay for yourself 😉
@@polinacreations7729 I sell my clay jewelry full-time in canes,-this is my dream job and am trying to make your tomato cane right now I tried to use sugarcharmshop YT tomato cane PDF but that is way to complicated, why'd I have to pick a tomato as my first cane lol, im moving very slowly, lol
Watching these videos...all I can think is that someone out there figured out how to get tiny tomato slices from strategically mushing clay together.
Yeah, but isn’t that pretty cool?
That is huge it must make lik a bazillion lil tomatoes 😆 so cool
Even though I know how yo make canes through and through, it’s still so much fun and satisfying to watch others make theirs. Especially Polina! It’s all so crisp and neat, detailed but also quick. Beautiful cane. You have exceptional skills. 🤍🖤
Thank you so much!!! 😊🍅
I love the music and your tomato cane is fabulous!!
Thank you!😊🌷
✨ This is so satisfying 💖 but it looks so hard to make if I made this I would have been lost in the process but it looks really cool tho✨
I love your tomatoes. I’ve been trying to make them forever and I messed up and scrap them but how are yours doing? You have talent you’re very creative
Thank you for the DIY, it's fantastic!! 💖
That was my first favorite video I’ve ever watched
Omg. The work that's out into the details.
Thank you so much! 😊🌷
I saw you mention you sell your jewelry- Do you ever sell the canes? These are just so perfect!
Thank you for asking! Unfortunately, I don't sell the canes, sorry! 🌷
Wow, amazing! Now you only missing miniature cheeseburgers to put the tomato slices on 🍔
Done! ruclips.net/video/249zcu5_QGQ/видео.html

Polymer clay expert
This is super well made! I really want to try it myself! How do you preserve the canes so they don't dry out?
Polymer clay doesn't dry out. That's the beauty of it. It doesn't set until you bake it.
So realistic🍅🍅
Thank you! 😊🍅

Yay! I'm glad to hear you solved burning problem and you had success with your creations! 😀👍🏻👍🏻
i try to follow tutorial, and failed. can you describe on specific colors you used to mix with translucent 😩
So clever
Faaaaantastic ❤
How do you avoid distorting the design? Do you wait until the clay has hardened?
Hi, sorry for the late reply!🌼 I missed your comment.
After some time, I discovered a couple of things:
1️⃣ FIMO "Professional" is the best clay for making canes!
2️⃣ I use clay with the same hardness because hard clay will push out soft clay while reducing/shaping the cane.
3️⃣ I use glass bevels - it helps me to avoid cane ends distorting.
4️⃣ Do not rush, I know it takes a lot of time to reduce the cane, but you need to be patient and do it carefully.
5️⃣... and keep practicing! :) It is the key! 😉🌼
I hope this will help you! 🌷😉
@@polinacreations7729 how did you get the colors? I don't know what to mix with what to get some of the colors this cane requires?
Wow so real 👏👏
Thank you! 😊🍅
Amazing clay. I From Malaysia..
Thank you! 🌷
Wow! 😍😍
😊LoVe It😊🍔🍅🙌🙌
Thanks!😊🍅🍅🍅
😍😍😍
Can you please tell me the name of the colors you used
Sorry for the late reply!🌷 Unfortunately, I can't say exact names because I used different clay brands and mixed them with the leftovers from my previous projects. Basically I started with warm red for the "peel", then added more yellow, translucent and white colors for the inner layers. The closer to the center - the more yellow and translucent I add. 🍅🍅🍅
How do you bake them?
I bake them for 15-30 min (it depends on their size and thickness) 🌷
First🎉🎉
Too much work, I'd rather just paint them haha!
Will you paint 100 pcs , if you got to make same pattern for gifting
Enjoy that laziness when you get 30 burger earring orders and have to handpaint 90 slices. 😄🤦♀️
привет это саша курочка
Привет, Саша! 🌷😉
Wow….waaaaayyyyy too complicated!!
I thought the idea of a tutorial was adverb explained step-by-step you’ve skipped so many steps and just assume that we know what we’re doing wasted my time and because I got all of it ready
