I love this video! I’ve watched many times. I didn’t do well with my first canes but this is so much fun to watch! I won’t give up with polymer clay! Even Stephanie said, there’s no reason to hold us back in polymer clay, tools can be toothpicks, razor blades etc. I love Stephanie’s channel!

I sell a lot of polymer clay ( i also use it) so if this helps people....
The harder/firmer to work with brands (best for caning etc) are kato (which cannot be mixed with other brands), fimo professional, fimo soft and then maybe primo for simple stuff.
For general stuff (such as jewellery making or small sculptures) i would recommend fimo, fimo professional, and premo, sculpey souflee and cernit.
Generally I only recommend pardo for speciality translucent jewellery making.
For sculpey 3, sculpey original, and fimo air dry etc are great for crafts (and kids) for times that the work doesn't require much strength or detail work.

I don't have a pasta press. After trying my first cane, I see it was necessary. I tried another technique for citrus, but when I get my press, I will use this method, as it looks much easier.. Thank you for the demonstration.

Hi there, new subscriber here and have a question, hope it's okay to ask.
At 4:00 mark you make a mould out of blue clay. My question is, do you bake it before using it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give a newbie, I so badly want to try your tutorial.
