This song will always be such a beautiful tribute to Marilyn. As much as I love & adore Princess Diana, I wish Elton could have made a song specifically dedicated to her. Both women deserve their own songs from a legend like Elton.
I believe this song serves both women well. They were both victims of the forces that controlled their lives. I hope the future makes this clearer for all to understand.

Her, Princess Diana, Elvis.. the list does to on.. this is such an amazing tribute song.. all of it is moving but for me personally I felt the line of him saying how he saw her as something so much more than sexual was a huge and profound statement considering that she WAS often seen only as a "sex symbol" while she was alive and she always wanted to be seen as so much more than that... hope she is able to rest easy knowing that she IS SO MUCH MORE than just that and IS REMEMBERED now as MUCH MORE than just that.
