    So glad you’re liking your results! I so get how much acne can affect self-esteem. You’re so right that people who have never dealt with it don’t get it. I’m so happy for you
    Regarding treatments surprising you: It’s so funny how sometimes what you learn is different from your actual experience. I was terrified (bc of the internet) of tretinoin for years, but actually found I tolerate it better than Differin. I Just actually bumped up to 0.05% tretinoin every night to help w summer acne flares and am doing just fine. I never thought I’d be able to do more than the lowest strength.

    Hey! Thanks for the video and being so vulnerable. I’m struggling with hormonal cystic acne and was just put on 50 mg of spiro about a week ago. My skin is pretty bad right now. I’m wondering how long it took to notice any difference in your skin with spiro. Thank you!

      Thank you, Manuel! I was so nervous to try it too! I still put on my toner and serum but I let those dry before putting my tretinoin on! So far it has worked even better for my skin and I have even less flakes with even more use!?!

    I watched this video twice. I honestly think it's your best video yet! You were genuine & honest which I truly appreciate!
    I totally relate to your story about dealing with chest & back acne as a teen. I had KP on my arms & legs on top of acne, I was so embarrassed I hated myself. I never wore skirts, shorts, sleeveless shirts. I pretended to be a tom boy who loves pants but I was dying inside. I'm still struggling now as an adult, however, I care less about what other people think, instead I focus on myself more.
    It sound like you have a great dermatologist who listens & tailors treatment according to your need. Can you please share more about the malassezia problem you were experiencing? What were the symptoms & how was it diagnosed? I've been getting swollen, itchy pimple in patches on my face. Out of desperation one day I put anti-dandroff shampoo on the area, to my surprise the itching got a lot better after. I went to see a derm who wants to me take allergy pills & do blood test for allergies. I never went through with it.

      Thank you SO MUCH! I feel like I at least somewhat captured and portrayed what it is like to have acne and have it consume your life. So glad that you are getting more confident in yourself despite your skin! I LOVE my dermatologist! I have been to 3 others that never listened to me at all and just rushed me out and they never helped. This one listens to me and has been so helpful and kind! She is a rare gem❤️ I have a “fungal acne” video that might help and seer some of the malasezzia Questions until I can make more videos!

    • @SarahhhBeth
      @SarahhhBeth  Год назад +1

      With the malessezia, I got a ton of tiny red bumps and they would itch like crazy! Anti dandruff shampoos helped some but I still had a lot of hormonal acne mixed in! The spironolactone has helped my sebum production and helped both my hormonal acne and the malessezia!!

    • @SarahhhBeth

      I wonder if the allergy test could be beneficial? If they think it is allergies causing it could it eventually get severe and dangerous? Not sure how big you’re talking when you say swollen?! Mine were small red bumps in clusters but not swollen! I hope you figure it out soon! Keep me updated!!

      @@SarahhhBeth Thank you for the kind words! I'm looking forward to seeing more skin related video from you. Looking back you must've gained clarity on the issues you were experiencing. I would love to hear your thoughts on what you would've done differently.
      When I have itchy pimples they swell up like a mosquito bite. It is extremely itchy but if I scratch they'll become bigger. It will subside the next day but he area remain red & itchy. The cycle last a couple of days. Cortisone cream helps. I don't think it's an allergic reaction because I haven't changed anything in my routine/diet; it only appears on my face; no other symptoms indicate I'm allergic to something. I will keep using anti-dandroff shampoo & monitor progress. 🙂

      @@samsong4447 I will definitely be making more skin videos! It’s been such a huge part of my life and one of the main reasons I stated my channel, to have a community of people experiencing the same things as me because it felt like no one else in my life was! That’s so odd that the places swell up like that! Are they painful at all like cystic acne? It sounds similar to hives but you said you didn’t use or eat anything different so who knows! I hope you find an answer soon!!

      Im currently on spironolactone and tretioin. My dermatologist also send me antibiotic but my body didn't like it so I had to stop it. I'm already getting a little bit better, but I do not want to be taking medicines for ever.@@SarahhhBeth

    Highly recommend Cerave moisturiser vanicream etc with tretinoin. Every night is a must. Then later on you might even be able to get up to 0.05% tretinoin and come off tablets. Seriously. I’m on 0.05% tretinoin.

    I found your video so late but hope u can still answer my question . Did u notice any difference on your scalp while u were taking spironolactone ? I have extreme oily skin on my head and nothing works , it seems like my last resort . And do u take still spiro and BC? Tu

    • @SarahhhBeth
      @SarahhhBeth  4 месяца назад +1

      I feel like my scalp still gets oily pretty quickly 😕 I wash like every other day or MAX EVERY 2 days! I feel like it maybe has helped some though? I’m not sure but I feel like my face might not be AS oily now! I would ask your derm their thoughts on if it could help!

    • @yogaqueen515
      @yogaqueen515 4 месяца назад

      that would b so awesome , thank u for your response as well . I can’t stand my limp fine , flat and thinning hair gets oily by the evening . I stopped highlight them since frequent wash even with mild shampoo still damage hair more and it’s impossible to wash just roots without watering the hair length 😢and I don’t mention the time wasting on dealing with them . Is your hair naturally strait? Seems y have a lot more volume than I do. How’s your skin condition now ? And did the treatment affected your weight and appetite ?

    I have red acne between my breasts I hate it I’m using acne washes, but next time I’ll see my derm I’ll see what he says, I def have acne around chin and jawline so I’ll see what he says. How long did it take to clear your acne on spiro?

    the other day I was on the phone with my friend right. I was walking over to staples to pick up my Amazon package and I was very thirsty and I thought I could grave a drink at Starbucks but I remember how bad my acne is and I just felt so self conscious about how people will start staring at me and maybe feel grossed out by me like I feel like that’s the worst feeling I could ever feel.being judged for something I have no control over 😢so I was like never mind I’ll just go home and my friends like wow like your stupid for doing that like just because of your skin? Like people really don’t understand how much it affects you until you have it even my own parents feel like I’m just the issue. Their always telling me your buying to many products that’s why your skins like that and guess what me buying all these products helped me clear my skin omg I wish I can show you but last week my skin was just all over the place and my skins so clear right now I’m so happy and happy you made this video because im not alone.
