So nice to see a glimpse of Shawlands as it used to be. Had forgotten so many of those wee shops and business existed.

Great to see BP Micros again, at 3:27. It was just a little shop but I thought it was brilliant. They used to sell computer games for the Commodore 64. Today, it's just one of those 24 hour "Lifestyle" grocery shops. I wish we could bring back the old Shawlands.

David. My mum and dad lived in Shawlands when they first got married back in 1977 and my dad remembers a chip shop which he says was called Elios and he thinks it was in Skirving Street. Is he right and if so do you know when Elios closed down?

I worked my first summer...and took my savings down to BP Micro to buy an Amiga. Must have been 1992. Carried it back home just across from the arcade. Great memories

@@eccIefechan What about a chip shop called Elios as my mum and dad lived in Shawlands when they first married in 1977 and my dad loved that chip shop. He thinks he remembers it being in Skirving Street.

I worked in Cohens - Claremont Garments as it later became and left in 1990. That was the last time I saw the place - until now. Think it closed in 1993.
Have very fond memories of the place and met some true friends.
    Thanks for posting.

Mon the Shaw Lands! I used to work there back in 1984/85. Remember going to Henry Healy's or the Italian deli for my lunch!

Sad to see all the shiny little independent businesses with their well presented shop fronts, now replaced by tacky vaping shops and phone repair centres. Can thank Tesco for that!

young man there is a camcorder club in and near Eastwood south side of glasgow,go visit them and learn to film much better, when filming go very slow and steady use a tripod and learn to pan slowly without jerking, insert several still photos into shot so folks can read a plaque or written subject matter, also edit out all wind noise ie use a wind furry sock on microphone.
