Aizen wanted to change the Soul Society, not to kill everybody. Of all the captains he really wanted to kill only Yamamoto. If Aizen became the Soul King, he would be a leader like he was in Hueco Mundo. He didn't kill unless it was necessary. Yes, even Hinamori stabbed, he did it because he thought it better for her to die than suffer from despair. So now in Muken, Aizen becomes stronger and stronger.. Wait... Aizen indirectly also received the power of Soul king from the defeated Yhwach... So finally, someday, Aizen will become the Soul King. Has Aizen been possessed by the Hogyoku? The Hogyoku has a will of its own, and it is powerful like any deity or demon. Maybe while Aizen was taking his wounds and evolving, it was the Hogyoku who took control of him. That is why we see Aizen impatient, screaming for the first time. When he regained his composure, he began to regain his power. But I don't think Aizen and Hogyoku is a symbiosis. In my opinion Aizen doesn't control everything, he has still to compromise with the entity that merged with him.
The ironic thing is, for all of Aizen's power and drive to be a god, it would've certainly been a shallow and boring reign. At best he'd terrorize and slaughter whatever weaklings stood beneath him, maybe he'd occasionally cultivate some pawn to power up and try to stop him out of sheer boredom. He knows he wants to be a god yet doesn't get that standing alone in the heavens means well, to be alone up there and not much else.
I think Aizen always felt like he was alone at the top, all while searching for higher highs. The only ones he recognized as higher in some capacity were people like Zaraki, Urahara, Yamato, Ichigo and Soul King. But he didn't truly view them as better, just sign posts along the way, until Ichigo anyway. He knew he could and should take over as a Soul King, something no one else really thought of or even possible. I think he felt a responsibility to do so, not just a desire to be the strongest but because he already was or had the potential to be and importantly he disagreed with the status of the soul king being in the state he was, just like Ywach but for different reasons. This is also why Ywach approached him. They had the same end goal but Aizen wanted to be that pillar that would bring about change.
Neither Aizen or Ywach were "bad guys" but they felt that the current state of the universes was not right. They both felt like they had to right its wrongs by becoming the soul king.
His last form versus Ichigo was more of a hollow like and he was weak he no longer had the same will he had nor fear to evolve hence the vulnerability of the Hogyoku. Remember the Hogyoku can manifest its power momentarily when a captain class reiatsu comes in contact with it.
it still amazes me to this day that Ichigo in base after his 0 Division training and Muken Chair-sama Aizen while his Reiatsu was restrained are both way more powerful than their "final forms" (Mugetsu and Butterfly respectively) during their last fight
@ThatYellowSpiderEye It's more likelly for Urahara to be part of the 5th secret noble clan since he is unusually smart (maybe a trait he inhereted from the ancestors like Byakuya, Ichigo, and Tsunayashiro did) and he also has Yoruichi as his best friend. You don't just...become best friends with the head of a noble clan without having some merit or background.
I have ZERO idea why people think think he lost his hogyoku well I think it’s because people think that if he gets beat he automatically just uses the hogyoku and increases his power but it’s more than and aizen was definitely lonely it was confirmed in this databook but I mean it’s not translated officially so I could be totally wrong. But everything else I 100000% agree with
Apologies for the long comment! I agree. It makes a lot of sense that he, in fact, hadn't reached the pinnacle of the shinigami - for example, I don't think he would have stood a chance against one of the original 5 ancestors of the Noble Families. The fact that the Shiba ancestor felt that it was possible for him to take the place of the Soul King (as an alternative to the cruel plan to cut him apart etc) should give an idea of how powerful these original shinigami were. Even Isshin, a member of the Shiba's branch family (Kaien was the head of the main family) could push Aizen to his limits. I believe that in order to be truly worthy of being Soul King, Aizen needs to advance his TYBW form to the point where he is on the level of the original 5 noble ancestors and Ichibei (arguably something he may have achieved by this point) and then take on Hollow, Quincy and Fullbring aspects, or reach some state where he can freely use all of these powers. THAT is the nature of what it means to be like the Soul King. SK was the original, simply appearing out of the primordial chaos 'born" with these capabilities, Yhwach achieved it by being some sort of discarded piece of the mutilated Soul King who then absorbed his fellow SK parts, and Ichigo achieved it through his unique parentage and arguably the intentional manipulation of his birth by people like Aizen and Yhwach. An Aizen who hadn't even truly reached the level of the "primordial shinigamis" had no real hope of becoming a true "Soul King", even if he had continued to evolve to the point where he could defeat anyone and take the throne by force. As another example, in CFYOW, even Ginjou was stated to be a "Soul King candidate" along with Ichigo. Ginjou was a shinigami, had Hollow influence and was a Fullbringer - then forcefully stole power from Ichigo, a true hybrid. Perhaps Aizen's willingness to return to Muken was because he knows he can somehow continue to meditate or whatever and push his pure Shinigami zanpakutou-merged self to the true limit of what a Shinigami can be, and perhaps then he will either have the hougyoku begin infusing the other races' essences into his soul, using his millennia of prison time to craft his soul into the perfect hybrid.
You say previous form but actually under his mugen prison clothes he is still the same as when he fought Ichigo and gin . Under the wet patch are his other two eyes under the scarf is the hoygaku in his chest and beneath the black jumpsuit is the all white form.
It's ironic how aizen says toshiro no one understood my true identity and in the end he itself didn't understood his true identity as he wanted to be new soul king and new mugetsu ichigo.
if Aizen continued the path to be the king of souls who would be god above god's,able to see the future and past too, that would be crazy powerful,in such a form he can one shot Soul king yhwach, don't even think juha Bach would be allowed in the soul palace cause Aizen wouldn't have been sealed
True. But if he killed the Spirit King it would cause the universe to implode, he'd be left floating in an endless void of chaos. Then again the claims of the chaotic old world returning without the King as a conduit could be lies by the higher ups to justify their control of such power.
Hey, you said that Aizens role in the last arc wasen't that big, Well I think this is wrong. I mean without Aizen in the last battle Ichigo would be dead because nobody manipulate Yhwach, so this time Yhwach would have killed the Real Ichigo. Because of Aizen that he trickrd Yhwach Ichigo is alive. And had the Chance too kill Yhwach then Uryu appeared. If aizen wasen't there Ichigo would be dead and nobody would have a Chance against Yhwach
I wasn’t a fan of Aizen’s Hogyuko forms. Also the different transformations were too quick. It seemed kinda basic how Aizen became obsessed with Ichigo’s final form because he couldn’t feel his power and wasn’t the cool calm focused Aizen he’s always been for the entire series.
The Hogyoku was claiming a part of his mind with each evolution. It intensified Aizens personality. When Aizen pondered why he couldnt feel Ichigo's power, you can also interpret that as the Hogyoku itself in disbelief
It's not really his power When you really think about it anyone could have It increased our power and turned them into a Divine being hes just the person who did it
@@severussin Exactly, and while Aizen didn't perfectly understand himself at the time. I do believe he would have recognized hollowification if he were going through that emotional coaster ride at the time. I think he first was undergoing a "royal" transformation, taking in that piece of the soul king within the Hogyoku and becoming quincy-like. Only after Ichigo pushed him hard and he gained the two hollow holes, did he undergo hollowification. The cocoon and butterflaizen forms were a quincy and "Holy form" transformation.

Sounds similar to how barragans reign went
Who said it was about excitement? He was still a researcher too, he can spend time on that
I mean that's kinda the thing with most "reach level of God" villains right? The story of Iccarus and all that.

I think, Aizen is one of the Former Nobles discredited by the Tsunayiro Family, meaning he feared them so he destroyed Aizens family
@ThatYellowSpiderEye there were other Nobles, SoiFon, Ukitake, Shunsui and others like Nanao are also Nobles
I tend to think he is a bastard to one of the 5 great houses
