Ah, ha ha, no idea how many of these I've seen today on videos, they're all over! But I already have a 16th scale truggy thing and it's not broken! I guess they can keep coming up with more of these and of course the brands are competing with each other as well as hopefully making people like me buy one more even though I don't need it... They're definitely here to stay and we want them in our collections, ha ha! Cool video, nice testing method, checking temps all the time, always a pleasure watching your stuff, mate!
Thanks. Like the 006, Rlaarlo seem to be spamming youtube with their motels. It's an interesting experiment. I don't mind being part of it as my proviso is that I'll show everything, good and bad, so if they're cool with that, I'm happy to give it a go! Chew
I enjoyed your review. It was quick and through. I have always felt that that rc's with the bigger tires were good for new and younger drivers because you can run a more different surfaces. It would be interesting to find out why they chose metal or carbon fiber. Of course WLtoys uses metal chassises, while other companies that produce cheap bashers use some sort of plastic. One of the big questions for these type of cars is parts availability. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thanks. I bet these big wheels on the 006 carbon fibre chassis would be a winning combo. Will play around with this to see. It does come with all the common parts you might need in the box and they sell everything separately, even if not listed on their site. For what it's worth, I requested another ESC for the 006 and they sent one straight out. They're trying to show parts won't be an issue, I think. Again, the included bag of spares is unparalleled in the hobby across any brand. It's impressively thorough.
You sure picked a nice place to live my friend. Beautiful scenery. Rlaarlo is producing some interesting options in the low cost RC market. Decent little truck! My only complaint is that I wish they would use a little more creativity in naming their vehicles. Hope you're having a great day and I'll see you next video!
Great review and I look forward to seeing what the little thing can do on 3s lol...and maybe a new controller cause the one that came with it looked real cheap and may have held it back some but anyway can't wait for the next video..
Thanks Roy. The radio feels cheap and the range is poor, but otherwise it works fine. I definitely have to do some more tests here though, I think we can get a better car out of this platform with some changes. Will do!
Did a comparison of this vs two similarly priced vehicles in my channel. Spoiler alert.... it took 1st place. The bigger surprise is what it competes against price wise. Nice review sir.
I like it a lot. It looks fun & I like that it’s small I have 1/7 scale RC’s so it’s nice to see a cool little basher. Looks solid. I’m wondering how it jumps being that you said it was heavy that could be a good thing so it doesn’t feel like a kite. As long as it’s not underpowered. It looks like a baby Arrma!
A good friend and colleague of mine always reminded me when I used the word "cheap" - it is NOT "cheap", it is "INEXPENSIVE". I think that applies here as well.
The 006 is definitely inexpensive for what you get. The 005 has yet to show us how durable it is. I think after our skate park durability test we'll know whether it really is inexpensive or just cheap. Gravity and inertia will uncover the truth either way! :)
I always asked my buddy- when are you going to Paint that hot rod? ... the answer = "PAINT ADDS WEIGHT MAN!!" I never asked again- 25 years later...still no paint job!😆 Great video as always!!
The truggy is more fun to drive. You might try adding these big ties to your buggy, that'd improve its bashing fun level. I'll do that on a future video as I suspect that'll be the best of both worlds. Also, play with the suspension a bit. Depends on where you're driving but I found on bumpy ground these 1/14 models aren't so fun if their suspension can't work enough. On the 959b for example, I swapped out the stock shocks completely for bigger travel ones and it changed it completely. Way more fun. Try playing around with yours, could help. Hope you find a configuration you're happy with! It takes some tinkering sometimes.
Hm, being plastic and with a 390 motor it looks like it should be a lot lighter than the 005 here. That would be good for durability at least. Though the Rlaarlo 006 in our other video is incredibly durable too. I haven't tested the 005 here for durability yet but I suspect it's weight may be a liability. We'll see! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Chris, their naming does need work, yes!

Thanks, that's not surprising. The price to performance is good on these little things!

I have a feeling the weight will mean breakages in a big air situation. We'll see, I'll test that soon enough! Thanks :)

Stickers have to add 0.5km/h and style points.
Free speed upgrade! Why wouldn't you :p

Lol, well he's not wrong, but also, haha! Nice
Is there any difference between the buggy and the truggy. Have the buggy but not at all impressed with the handling and either gonna fix or sell it
