It's truly incredible how every album just keeps getting better over the years while most popular bans diminish over time. BT just keeps getting better.
I’ve always lived bf their trilogy albums, the first three. But after listening to these two. It really is incredible how they stayed true to how they’ve always sounded. But made it better.
Here's my rankings: Billy Talent III Billy Talent I Billy Talent II Afraid of Heights Dead Silence Btw I fucking love Dead Silence im a Billy Talent fan boy so I like all of their albums.
When I listen to this tune.... I get into a near trance-like state because of the music. I feel Ian's riffs in particular. This or GSOCR for best on album.
This song is often interpreted as watching others fall into depression or addiction, which is entirely valid. I think it can apply to grifters- to all those who are locked into a particular set of beliefs because it's monetarily lucrative. So they end up engaging with certain ideas dishonestly, and never change- even when they've been proven wrong. This is not uncommon in the politisphere- so many walk past the grass- never to return.
It’s great, he doesn’t drop the tuning to make it heavier, but because he gets an octave power chord simply by barring the lowest three strings with his index finger, allowing him to do lead on top of it with his other fingers.
It in my opinion the song talks about man being tempted by the devil and deceived easily is man. When all hope has been lost a diamond or glimpse of light is show heeling through the grass and is the way out of the whole or the hell they live in. Regardless if this is about god or just metaphorically speaking the message to me is never give up on hope and love.
My only beef with this album, and specifically this song, is that sometimes you can see the brilliance and potential the song(s) have, but they take it in a route that never escalates beyond that potential. Some songs seem like they could've been better developed. Good album though!
Javier Belmer specify where the potential doesn't seem to escalate... Because I always felt Billy talent hands the potential to your mind and how you escalate it with your emotions and wisdom...
Memotronik Caska it's about addiction in general so yes drugs but also religion (with groups that someone join and then never comes back to his family) and how the person get closer and closer to his final addiction and it destroys his life and the life of the people who are close to him and also it's from the perpective of someone of his family or one of his friend who watch him destroy himself or join the groups and he's not able to stop him
I've seen people say it's about drugs and addiction, and other say it's about the writer's mother who had alzheimers. Honestly ic don't know which one is it but I don't care too much it's awesome song
It's a song about addiction to religion, and how complete dependency on it can destroy your life. To put it simply, it's a song about drugs. The drug just happens to be religion.
Mthr Snr Hahaha ;) I understand but it's really difficult to set the lyrics at the exact moment he sings the words because the difference between the two is really small, it's even smaller than one second. I did my best I think. But I understand what you mean. Unfortunately I can't change it now ;).
It's about someone who sees a person very close to him get deeper and deeper into an addiction (it can be drugs or someone who joined a cult) and he can't help him, just watch this person destroy his life and the life of the people who care about him.

And now they've come out with Forgiveness, which is on a whole other level.

@@killswitchuncaged2158 For me, it's one of their best songs, it's so addictive.
nahailyenvanakkor that’s awesome. It gave me muse vibes
This is the best album that Billy Talent has ever produced to date. They seem to always push the boundaries and get better every time.
The relevance just grows.
I still think they need to do a parody entitled Ghost Ship of Corona Bats 🤣

already done that side of life equations.......
What is the meaning of this song? Is the singing about drug abuse or an impossible love? Help!

Some Metallica vibes
