you are right my friend 3 years later and mcr is still growing again such a beautiful thing I as well come from this generation where mcr saved my life and helped me get through my teen years and im 28 now and just seen them live recently

1:13 “I’m from the east coast so idk how to take compliments” Dude same, is it an east coast thing?because everyone I know from here doesn’t know how to take compliments I thought it was everyone in the world not knowing how to do that.
I think the East Coast of anywhere is like that pahaha. Like, I'm english, and i live on the east coast, and no one here can take compliments at all pahaha
Freak at the disco Honestly, same. I’m from New Jersey and I do not know how to take compliments. Not at all. I just freeze and blush and look away and mutter a weird thank you.
Frank is literally in pain every show he plays and he does it just like that literally everything he says man such an amazing human and inspiration I love hiiiimmm
@@alysaedwards7240 loudwire.com/frank-iero-involved-serious-vehicle-crash/ He got hit by a vehicle while unloading the van with his band. Messed up his shoulder pretty badly.
@@alysaedwards7240 You've probably already found the answer to your question by now, but since nobody answered in case you haven't or if someone else wonders that same thing. It's the 2016 accident he references. He was in Australia with one of his other bands and he got hit by a bus and dragged. He's said in other interviews, when he's actually talked about it, that he fully believes the only thing that saved him was a giant "rucksack"/backpack he was wearing but his shoulder still got messed up badly (I don't remember what exactly he said was wrong with it, I think he said that at least part of it was a torn tendon among other things) and doctors told him he'd probably never play guitar again even with the surgery and he did the rehab and everything to try to get back to physically being able to play, but has talked about how he still has pain as a result of the accident, especially when he does play. Though more recently he broke his wrist in like 10 places in August of 2021 when he fell off a ladder. He's talked about that on Instagram where he posted pictures and said he had to have 2 surgeries as a result of the broken wrist (one to stabilize everything my placing a plate with screws and a pin and the 2nd to remove that plate and screws later).
Advice: just get through school with average grades stay our of trouble and when you graduate do what you love and live your best life. Also this was a very interesting interview thank you
Absolutely amazing interview!!! Great questions, Eric, thank you, I've actually learned something new about Frank. I love that you asked him about The Host, because that's my favourite song from the new album, it's so special, and I've always wanted to know what it's about!!
Don't mind me, this is for research purposes. 28:37 Conventional Weapons needs more appreciation and validation, so now I can use his statements to back me up.
If you look carefully on the left, under the J sign, you can see some of Gerard's Young Animal series. "BUG: Adventures of Forager" and either "Doom Patrol" or "Mother Panic", they are them because I have them right next to me 😂 and I love comics
this is such an amazing and deep interview, it brings me a lot of comfort. I love the way Frank thinks and sees the world, I can relate to him in many things. what an awesome and inspiring human being. I also love his voice and his laugh
It never fails to amaze me that after all these years and all the fans that love them as individuals or as a whole as the band (or both) how Frank and Gerard still manage to be sooo freaking self deprecating and lacking in confidence about their skills and/or that people actually like them. (I've seen a ton of interviews of one member alone or the whole group together, but I'm specifically mentioning Frankie and Gee because I've seen them mention it/talk more than Ray & Mikey in interviews.) They are their own worst critics. He called Gerard Gee :D So freaking adorable! I love the smile and giggle when he says that about looking for things that are broken in the right way. I love everything he just said about anxiety. Hearing Frank talk about having anxiety and Gerard talk about anxiety and depression.. just, I love them so much for that as someone who also has diagnosed anxiety and depression. *happy sigh* I would love to have the opportunity to actually meet them face to face one day just to be able to give them a hug and tell them how much not only the music they've made but also their willingness to discuss mental health issues and just them having the attitude of that even if you're messed up you should be yourself because you're not doing anyone any favors by trying to be someone else, least of all yourself has helped me deal with my own shit over the years being a teenager and even til now being 27.
The love for Conventional Weapons 🥺 It's absolutely my favourite too 😭 I wish they'd (re-)release it as a full album, now that they're back in the public eye, touring around 🥺
I just realized how I have what Frank wanted growing up because I go to an art school and I’m only in 7th grade and it goes all the way through high school and it has a lot to do with being in the music, theatre, and art businesses. It’s OCSA. I can’t believe how like everything he says I can somehow relate to. He’s amazing help.
I’m in a band rn I’m a junior in high school, & hearing him talk about his experience in high school w/ music is rlly rad cus I’ve had a similar experience (so far that is). I wonder if there is an interview like this with gee out there. I’ve never seen an hour long one before. Pretty cool.
Why is he so smart and insightful? Also what he said about them creating like a training ground in the art world is so true. They inspire so much art it’s insane, like having such a great jumping off point can really launch long term creativity
So many successful people say don’t have a backup plan if you really want to make something successful because if you have a backup plan then you probably won’t try as hard for success and probably can’t put enough time and energy in to be successful. It took me a long time to realize that this is some of the best information and it doesn’t matter what it is it could be a music career, medical career, or literally anything you want to pursue. You really can’t be the best at any one thing if you don’t give it every ounce of energy and time. Without a backup plan you are much more likely to make something work not because you want to but because you have to. I am using this mindset for my business now sure it’s scary but it’s the only way
When he talked about anxiety and you being your own worst enemy. I was like yeah know the feeling, hate having anxiety. People who don't have it will never know the struggle.
Was supposed to see MCR this sat. In L.A. 😭😭😭 (would of been my first time FINALLY seeing them i was so pumped begining of the year when got tix) Great Interview Eric. I know a your veteran in interviews and plethera of music knowledge. -Anita 😊👍🏼(yah i know been years...so if u member me haha)

@@squidwardspp2600I read that as “asstruck oopello” and I was CONFUSED

Wow Frank is a really deep thinker. I like that about him. He really pours a lot of thought and heart into his music. I love that. 👍🏻❤️
why does he sound the same as he did 15 YEARS AGO WHYYY?!?!?!
Because
True
Because ideas don’t age. Therefor My Chem doesn’t age either
Ikr I’m crying
Because he was still a fully grown adult 15 years ago? Lol
Ok but he has the cutest laugh

Yes
God an entire hour.... but it’s frank so I’ve got time
Every time this man opens his mouth, he says something I really needed to hear. Every time. I freaking love it.
Major respect to the interviewer for using the full album titles.
Interviewer: How was your life in Belleville?
Frank: Oh let me tell you.
macaroni is shite
Police police is such a banger. The whole album makes me feel like jumping out of plane and solving mysteries when I land. I just feel so alive.
I don't think you'd feel alive when you hit the ground tho

*Frank* - Do or die
*me'* - YOULL NEVER MAKE ME BECAUSE THE WORLD WILL NEVER TAKE MY HEART
Go and try
haven f!nn you’ll never break me
WE WANT IT ALL
WE WANNA PLAY THIS PART
I WON’T EXPLAIN, OR SAY I’M SORRY
Franks voice is so nice to listen too.
what is it with gerard and frank chewing gum in interviews?😂
actually I got the same question, maybe they feel uncomfortable
It might help with anxiety because their subconscious is focusing on chewing instead of stressing
Marzy I think you’re right.
Well, they both used to smoke, and people who quit smoking often feel the need to do things with their mouth.
@@breif1020 doesn't Frank still smoke?

14:22 he used Gee instead of gerard😄😄😄
Aww

he almost always calls him gee lol

hearing frank talk about how much he loves his kids is so sweet, i really wish i got to have that from my father
