Hi Dustin, I would like to suggest, for a future project, to make "Do not throw garbage on the ground" sign boards around the village to encourage the community to keep the environment clean and maybe you and Reche can organize monthly or weekly clean-up drive involving the community, especially the kids, to pick up litters and bring them to the designated location. I hope in this way we can teach everyone to keep the surroundings clean. Best of luck and all the best to you, Reche and baby Everly!
After watching the girl trying to maneuver the wagon, even on the concrete pathway, I notice that it is not too easy to handle. Some suggestions: (1) make the wagon lighter by removing as much metal straps as possible from the wagon. It does not need to be so high. (2) change the wheels to balloon type (like used on wheelbarrow) and the rear axle increased in length as much as possible.. The front wheel should also be the same balloon type, but only one that swivels like a bicycle front wheel. This modifications should make it much easier, but. It will still be a two girls job. An adult will be able to handle it better, of course. The cost of the wheelbarrow wheels might be too much, I don't know the price in your area. The way it is it will reduce some work for the girls by keeping the wagon on the concrete pathway and bring the water bottles to the wagon by hand.😊
Maybe just leave the cart on the cemented side and carry the water container from water tank to the cart…just my opinion …those kids are hardworking adorable respectful and appreciative..God bless them and to all generous sponsors and of course to you Dustin and your family..Cheers
I'm so impressed with Micah, even from last year. I can judge that she's so intelligent, resourceful and has a beautiful personality. She's so responsible for someone so young. She cooks, cleans, babysits her younger sisters, fetches water, etc. I wish somebody sponsors her or donate for her schooling or other things. Love you Micah, keep being a very nice girl.
Your comments are true but for the less fortunate kids just like them appreciate it. They might not use it for fetching water coz it will make their work harder. But the wagon can be use for other purposes I assure you that. If only you could understand the dialect they are saying, how excited they sounded because the wagon is theirs. Your efforts and thought counts Dustin.
Those kids are precious, they are so excited and appreciative for every little thing they receive, much thanks to the sponsors for their generosity. Bring the wagon guy to your village so he can better understand what you need, The camera doesn’t display the elevation accurately, the terrain is much more challenging than it appears. You need bigger wheels mounted on the outside of the cart, that current rig can flip over on them. Maybe sponsor a community clean up day and buy them a garbage can to keep by the well👍🏻
Good idea with the wagon. Dustin, get the neighbourhood kids and do a quick clean up near the water collecting place as there seems to be lots of garbage and maybe you can also clear up some of those rocks so that it will help the kids to pull the wagon smoothly
@@DustinBackpacks That's good. If you don't have a place to put it, select a temporary designated trash place away from the water collecting place and tell the kids to write and put up a notice requesting all to put it there without trashing everywhere
Dustin, although the wagon is a good idea, it can not work in the rough terrain. If you place the wagon on a concrete surface, as close as possible to the well, it will save the girls some work. They could carry the water from the well to the wagon and pull it along the concrete path. Might be a good idea to clear a path and pour a concrete path from the flat area to the well site. Good luck.
Happy Bday Micah! Hope all your wishes come true! You & your sisters are very responsible for such young age. Thanks Dustin and the sponsors for helping the girls and their parents. This might be your last project before you fly back to the USA. Wishing You, Reche & baby Everly Kate more blessings & good luck with your new life in the USA.
The wagon is good, the water containers need a lid, but yes it can be used for carrying wood, and maybe building materials from the road to the house? It is hard for the girls, maybe easier for adults to pull and steer, uneven ground makes it more difficult. There is lots of garbage around the water well, I am assuming it is packaging from the soap powder, maybe the children could do a pick up rubbish, all they would need is a black bag to collect it all and maybe it will make the adults use it as a bin, the countryside is getting spoilt? The workers work really hard in the heat, I hope they take some breaks. The windows look great, and they have made a good start on the terrace!
Happy birthday Mica!! 🎈🎂🎊 Enjoy your special day!🥰 Nice grapes from Dustin 🧡! Soon you will have your own bed in the shared room with your sister. More blessings to everyone 🙏🙏
They could carry the buckets half way to Reche's house where the pavement are then use the cart from there. At least they don't have to carry all the way to their house.
Yes it would be nice, what do you suggest they do with it? They’ve tried burning it but it doesn’t burn so well, also they’ve tried burying it but it’s very rocky.
Yes the garbage is a problem, what do you suggest they do with it? They’ve tried burning it but it doesn’t burn so well, also they’ve tried burying it but it’s very rocky.
I was about to mention the basura (garbage) on the ground. These are common in slums area of Manila. But in the province, can’t anyone collect them? And get hauled out somewhere for recycling or dumping.
Hi Dustin, Just want to suggest for your future projects to make "Do not throw rubbish on the ground" (In Visaya and Tagalog) sign boards and place them around the village to encourage the community to keep the environment clean. Another suggestion would be is to bring the community, especially the kids, on a cleaning drive to collect litters on the ground around the village and bring them to the designated location. Good luck and all the best to you, Reche and Everly!
Hi Franklin, that’s a good idea, what do you suggest they do with the rubbish? They burn it but it doesn’t burn so well, they could bury it but it’s very rocky here, there is no trash pick up in this area. Thanks!
Hi Dustin, The sign board should say " Please do not throw rubbish here and please bring your garbage with you" (in Visaya and Tagalog) I hope that'll prevent future littering and with regards to the existing garbage, it can be placed in one location and burned down. Another way would be hiring a truck to pick up the garbage to bring to the dump, but I guess that'll be expensive. I know that this is easier said than done, but if there's a will there's a way. I hope this help. Thanks
Dustin, You might think about having them put some Cement sides on the out door Kitchen. 2 inches or so thick and about 18 High for the Heat from the Fires. ( Please )
Need a cart with Pneumatic Tires (you can lower tire air pressure for less bumpy travels), and the tires need to be farther apart, outside the frame is preferable . I’d still have containers with lids tho.
I bet you could install a zip line by the well. If you put a pully with some rope attached to the zip line, they could raise the bucket, slide it up the incline, and put it in the wagon. You might lose a kid every year or two from playing on it though. :) A more stable wagon is a better solution, but a zip line would be really cheap and easy.
@@DustinBackpacks you just tie a rope/wire between two trees, put a wheel on it connected to another rope with a pully. Nothing fancy. If I can ever make it out there, I'd be happy to.
good idea the cart but it has the wrong tires for off road need wide tires they can leave it on the paved area and carry water to the cart or take the long way on the road where it is paved
Hi Dustin 🧡 Reche 💐 Everly Kate 💗! Sorry Dustin but it seems more difficult for the girls to use the wagon especially with the jugs in it. But it may get better with practice! Just worried it may hurt their backs! 😔 Take care 🧡🙏🧡
The wheel base on the cart is too narrow. You might consider installing bars or something from front to rear of the cart to keep the water containers centered over the wheels to avoid tipping and hurting someone. Just a suggestion. 😊
Really, you want old bicycle wheels. I think the wagon would be better if it was 1/2 as wide and the two back wheels were replaced with bicycle wheels.
So frustrated watching those kids trying to handle that wagon. Those kids are such excellent little workers. Dustin try to get that handle on the wagon fixed to make it easier as they can’t steer.
Wagon better off filled with containers so they won’t shift , maybe half filled. Wheels to narrow that’s why it tips , maybe easier to add spacers rear wheels wider with spacers / longer axle

@@DustinBackpacks an idea would be to shred the plastics to make bricks. I know others have done it. Just look up the details over the net. It might be a worthwhile research project for the kids especially the older ones.
the design isn't for the terrain. It needs bigger wheels and needs to be air inflated. The cage is also to big. The sides shouldn't extend outside the tires. I would say reduce the size of the box and if possible change the tires. Also should be small enough for the kids to take down the stairs

Yes I agree, what do you suggest they do with it? They’ve tried burning it but it doesn’t burn so well, also they’ve tried burying it but it’s very rocky.
