I really hope there'll be enough contents to keep it alive long enough for when our grandchildren are old enough to play it but I doubt any game will be able to keep going for 15-20 years Even WoW took only 5 years before it got dull

They shows us some very cool stuff. But you can also see a few bugs and the game is (as Steven always say) still in construction. The cool stuff were: the picking up some quests at the board - reminds me of Witcher 3 for example. the weather change during the quest and the effects that comes with it - the lightning strikes for example. the fact that even late joiners to the event still got reward from the chest for helping here - this reminds me on warhammer age of reckoning the area change after the node leveled up the enemies are kinda challenging - not like 1hit-kills. you have to fight! when everything is a 1hit, it's less rewarding for yourself. (personal opinion here). Of cause they also made some play mistakes here - but they faced the consequences of these mistakes. I personally like that! If you made bad decisions, the game should give you a slap for it. And if you did well: there will be a reward. It's not hello kitty now the "bugs" I saw: enemies bugged out and disapeared even during fights - happened a few times. the corpse of a minotaur floated away over the ground one Minitaur resetted his healthbar in midfight and run back to his spawnplace - this is maybe not a bug, but a normal reset - we know such mechanics in WoW for example. So I'm not sure, if this is really a bug or not. "cosmetic bug" the alchemist NPC during the rain event has strange looking blonde hair, while her hair in the dialog is brown. So this is a simple fix: change the color of her hair from blonde to brown. the walking sometimes doesn't exactly match with the groud. That's only a visual thing. I'm sure they will fix that also in later patches. maybe a small hitbox or collusion issue. Overall: The looks and the mechanics are very very well made. It feels organic and good, just by watching it! I'm so excited for that project! I think this could set new standards for MMOs and RPGs in general! It definitely has the potential to do so.
If they added Voice acting to the "you have an npc wishing to offer you a quest" box, imagine the potential. They could add voice packs, what with current AI voice cloning tech, they could have streamer voice overs, they could offer 3 or 4 stock "DM's" and let players branch out from there. . For a price of course.
We should of course be careful with expectations like that. Too many people treat AI like a magic solution to everything these days. With that disclaimer out of the way though, it is not unreasonable to speculate about meaningful AI integration like that in the timeframe Ashes is actually going to release. I mean, we aren't talking about a 2025 release anyway.
In the shot from the top of the tower, why was there an arc of rain above the main avatar? Lighting effect because of some buff or slightly dodgy rain animation?
And I guess Guild Wars 2 was just trying to copy Rift?? With that logic, every MMO is just copy Ultima Online then, because they have quests, loot, and are online? Ashes isn't copying anything, their system is different enough from GW2 Dynamic Events, for the fact that they occur based on the Nose level, the influence of the players around the Node, as well as impacts the area around the Nodes. Perhaps they were inspired by, or even slightly took some notes from GW2, but I wouldn't go about saying they copied it. Hell, FF14 FATEs are more of a copy than this.
I'm quite disappointed with the game; although the graphics are passable, they have a somewhat outdated appearance. The character movements feel awkward, and while the combat is decent, it doesn't quite reach the level of greatness. Additionally, the events in the game seem unoriginal and reminiscent of other MMOs I've played before. Currently, I'm enjoying Guild Wars 2, and it's challenging to envision myself switching to this game, especially considering it's a subscription-based model. Other MMOs, like New World, offer superior graphics and sound, making the decision to stick with or switch to this particular game even more challenging
