Working principle of thermocouples. When two wires composed of dissimilar metals are joined at both ends and one of the ends is heated, there is a continuous current which flows in the thermoelectric circuit. This phenomenon is called as Peltier effect

Dear Asad, what is the minimum/maximum insert length of the element in the thermo well? Is it allowed that tip of the element is toughing the end of the thermo well? Looking forward yo hearing from you. Kind regards, Murat Aydın

it is actually recommended to have tip of element to touch the end of thermowell for better measurement . Hence we have concept of spring loaded assembly.

Hii Good explanation. I believe you can also explan some aspect related to specification point of view. When we opt for grounded / ungrounded. Local/remote, stranded/ solid etc.

Hey buddy ! A beautiful explanation on Thermocouple ! Enjoyed it 😄 As we know, the books available on various standards are quite pricy ! Do we have access to them in bigger MNCs? Just curious..... so asked :) . As an engineer, we need to understand and know what the standards have to say.

Yes dear, All major MNC's have access to IHS Platform which provides all these standards under one roof. Its a subscription biased model which these MNC's can afford to buy 😥.

Is the green rot effect can be eliminated in K type thermocouple if we are using thermowell??
It eliminate the environment of direct contact of hydrogen to Thermocouple.

I have question regarding how to practically does cold junction compensation??
For HJ temp. millivolt we can measure by multimeter.but
like your example we have to put thermistor for CJ temp. ??

Good Question, Thank you for your question.
The Vendor needs to be informed that cold junction compensation is required, and the vendor will provide the hardware accordingly.
we dont need to put thermistor. 😊
      Hope this answers the question.

@@AsadPassionateEngineer if we have CJ side is electronic transmitter, how compensation happens? It will happen inside transmitter by itself?
