UV is incredible for cooler temps and less noise but 120 vs 190w does very little to your electricity bill. It's like $25 vs $30/month for your entire PC. Nobody cares.

@@dudebroguymate @Rares let's do some math. For example, electricity price in Germany is around 0.45$/kWh. Let's review two configurations:
      1) UVed 6700 xt that uses 120W and the rest of the system which will use around 80W, 200W total
      2) Stock 6700xt that uses around 200W, 80W for the rest of the system, 280W total
Lets account for 240v-12v acdc conversion losses, now its smth like 220W vs 310W from the wall.
Let's say we have enough free time to game 6 hours a day.
Then you're spending 0.6$ a day, 18 bucks a month for the first config and 0.84$ a day, 25 bucks a month for the second one.

I just purchased a Power Color RX 6700 XT from Micro Center ($345 US) about a week ago. I only ran the Unigine Superposition and Heaven 4.0 benchmarks on it, but the performance came out between an RTX 3070 Ti and an RTX 3080 in Superposition and slighly better than an RTX 3080 in Heaven 4.0. I had all settings turned up to maximum on both benchmarks and screen resolution was 1080p for both, since I still use an archaic 1080p TV for my display. (It's a living room media PC.) Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the RX 6700 XT, and as a bonus with VSynch on (ie: 60fps locked) the power consumption stays below 120Wh on Horizon Zero Dawn almost all the time and the idle power consumption hovers around 8Wh. Nice to see the comparison even though it really wasn't a fair test. I would have like to see some RT turned on results, but I know that the RT performance from the RX 6000 cards sucks compared to nVidia. (I think the AMDs are about half the RT performance of the nVidia cards, so the 3060 would have likely tied the 6700 XT.)

I built 3 gaming machines. One for me, one for my wife in the living room, and one for my friend. 6800Xt, 6750xt, and 6700xt. Got deals on each at different times over the last 3 months and could not be happier. This is the first all AMD builds I have built in 20 years of building systems.

I have the 6600 XT which is serving me well. Second hand prices for these had dropped through the floor and are excellent options if you can't afford the 6700 XT. While I don't tax the card and mainly play Fallout 76 it doesn't need to spin up the fans at all and still stays below 60°C in South Africa.

That Red Devil 6700xt has a really overbuilt cooler for the power draw. Max I could pull was 230w while OC'd running furmark. You can basically run the fans at the minimum in the radeon software (35%) and essentially have a silent card.

6700XT over 3060 all day. AMD updated AMF recently and it is nearly identical to NVENC now according to a recent article from Digital Trends. They also now have a new Noise Suppresion system that they say works well now.

I just bought 6700XT last week, for $359 in Best Buy... It's the XFX Speedster. After some considerable hassle with drivers, I can say the system is running smoothly now and I'm happy with the overall performance, although, 4k playback tends to get choppy for some reason, something I didn't have an issue with even on my old GTX 1060 3gb

Did you use the Display Driver Uninstaler? You should run that when changing GPU manufacturers especially, to make sure Nvidia drivers are fully gone from windows. When I had some weird problems with my GPU using DDU and reinstaling the same driver made it work a lot better.

I just built a PC with a Sapphire Pulse RX 6700 xt for $410, and the card is a beast! It's meant for 1440p, but at 1080p I can literally crank Microsoft Flight Simulator to Ultra settings and get 50-75 fps most of the time (like all the time when I'm not in areas like New York and where the World Updates are, like dense Madrid). The only thing is that my card has 2 fans, so I needed to apply a slightly more aggressive fan curve, but it still runs pretty quietly. I'm very happy with that card, and I'm glad that I didn't pay for overpriced Nvidia (the 3060 Ti was at $400 - MSRP - at my Best Buy, but the thing is that card has 4 gigs less of VRAM, lower clock speed, and is just generally worse in most areas that aren't Nvidia exclusive things like ray tracing and such)

Maybe it has become more intensive, I haven't played it since earlier this year. But it still seems so much lower than I would have expected.

Just bought a new 6700XT for 399 € and I love it! Getting it to work was a pain in the a**, 'cause the drivers just didn't want to install and I was getting black screens in Windows over and over again. Five hours and a fresh Windows install later, it finally did its job. So I guess the start almost couldn't have been worse, but hey, now it runs damn well and I'm pretty happy with my decision!

I think the 2x8-pin might come in handy for people like me who use MorePowerTool (MPT) to raise power limits beyond anything that normal factory settings + Afterburner (AB) would allow.
Say, I have my 6900XT set to use up to 350W if needed (factory default is 255W with up to +15% increase through AB resulting in maximum "normally" achievable 297W draw). I'd push for more, but I bought a reference design GPU with only 2x8-pin (they were quite cheaper at launch where I live) + the cooling is just enough for that power output (hitting 83~85°C when under fullest load for tens of minutes) and it might just hotspot throttle if I go any further + my sample has max stable clock at around 2700-2750MHz range (runs fine up to 2720, unstable when higher). With 350W power limit (MPT) and boost clocks set to up to 2660MHz (AB) it barely ever gets below 2500MHz in games (still hits that 350W ceiling sometimes, but with default maxed out PL (255+15%) it was really limited and often dropped to in between 2200~2300MHz, on very rare occasions below 2200 even). I think 6900 and 6950 can scale clocks up to around 400W power limit, maybe higher if you get a good silicon sample that is stable with higher values, so if given the chance it's best to opt for 3x8-pin configuration, at least I know I would when 7900XTXs hit the market.
I'd love to see what 6700XT Red Devil can do with, say, 300 watt PL and clocks set to max stable values versus 3060 max stable overclock (I think nVidia doesn't allow user-based power limit increase beyond factory settings - at least I never heard of MPT equivalents for them when I owned Titans, 1080 and 2080Ti).

I've had no issues gaming with the 6700 XT, but the big issue I have with 6000 series cards right now is video playback. These drivers are giving crazy stuttering issues for both me and a friend (6600 XT) and it's very annoying. It's mostly just at 4k or 2k and doesn't always happen, but sometimes videos become literally unwatchable. I hope AMD can work out their driver issues soon.
