Ok, they really didn't make it clear, but at the end of Season 1 what you actually saw was a Martian (our boy Shapesmith here) stowing away on the astronauts' ship. The REAL Rus Livingston got left behind on Mars and subsequently taken over by a sequid (those fleshy brain things, they only need one host to control the hive of millions). Shapesmith took on Rus' appearance and is now on Earth trying to play hero. Martian Man (from the Guardians) had no relation to him other than being a fellow Martian (several characters allude to him having been banished from Mars for whatever reason which is why he took up heroism on Earth)
@@thedirtytowel3155sure it can be clear if you watch em all in close relation, but season 1 came out two years ago, and there's a load of stuff that happens in this show. A lot can be forgotten in the shuffle.
I like how the scene between inmortal, kate and rex is mostly a reflection of what happened to eve after the funeral back in season 1. -Kate speaking to someone else while doing the nasty -Rex (in this case) being shocked and surprised -Kate (in this case) being hypocrite telling rex is inapropiate for him to dirty talk to her at their workplace, meanwhile the inmortal is porking her at their hq
Rex honestly deserved to be rejected by Kate and her end up with Immortal especially after how he treated Eve and she out grew him so this this is the poetic irony he had coming. Hopefully this will mature Rex more as a character
@@milkiassamuel780 We need to be talking about why the immortal is fuckin his co-worker when he is meant to be the leader of the group lol. That's very unprofessional behavior
Well he did say that that him and kate had going meant nothing so now she got back at him by showing him he was right what they was doing did mean nothing
@@nostalgicbliss5547 Actually, there s an explanation for that. Let s just say that due to the nature of their respective powers, it s easier for kate and inmortal to understand each other. Kate can feel evertything their duplicates do when they die and Inmortal can come back of almost every near death experience. They just get each other.
12:39 That scene is a callback to the very first episode when Darkwing handcuffed those thugs to the building before he got the call to Guardians of the Globe HQ. He did tell them that he would check back on them by tomorrow but he never came for them after Omni-man killed him.
@@KeenanVthat did happen in night city cause like batman protect gothom darkwing protected night city its just they didnt say the name in the first season
Atom Eve could technically make money, but that would be problematic, as it's illegal and multiple "fake" same serial-numbered money would be in circulation. So making gold then sell it made more sense, even if it's one-step more hassle.
Martian Man was murdered by Omni Man. This Martian is the one who stowed away on the astronauts' ship while the human he impersonated was left on Mars and was taken over by a sequid. This one saw the news report about the previous Guardians and was inspired to be a hero. He's the Shapesmith. Cecil wants a report on the sound the creature made because it temporarily stunned Mark. He wants to develop a way to use it himself against Omni Man, when he inevitably comes back.
I don't remember his name. But the 'villain' if you want to call him that, the one with the huge brain. He isn't going around capturing all the marks. He is going to all the universes where omniman and mark/invincible have been defeated and finding out how they were defeated. So he can gather enough information on how to kill mark, maybe he wants to capture him before he kills him. He is basically trying to gather as much information he can on how to defeat mark. Or at least this is what I understood. I don't think he had anything to do with mark being captured, cause if he did, why would he need to ask mark what happened to him and omniman (he would already know and female cecol would know who he was and would be pointing a gun at him) and why would mark answer to someone who had a part in capturing him
Darkwing was like Batman and Night Boy is like Robin. The first Robin is named Dick Grayson. And Dick Grayson is an acrobat so that's why Pudgey noticed Night Boy is quite acrobatic. When he retired as Robin, he became a superhero of his own named Nightwing. Also funny how Mark's surname is Grayson, another reference. So Darkwing and Night Boy are just mixed-up wordplay of The Dark Knight, Nightwing, and The Boy Wonder.
I love the ambiguity of this show. Eve's dad is prideful and harsh sure, but he is also right, to some extent, when it comes to Eve's powers, as they can be dangerous if you are careless with them. In a way Eve is also struggling with a kind of pride, as she thinks that she has sufficient knowledge to take every matter into her own hands.
Really enjoyed the episode. I thought the Eve subplot was really compelling and for me probably the highlight of the episode. She needed to learn that lesson sooner or later even if it came from the wrong person. I enjoyed the Atlantis arc although it was a bit different than the comics. I get they wanted to introduce a weakness for Mark but the shows' Atlantis arc lacked a bit of the fun of the comic version of Atlantis. Debbie's breakdown is really captivating and much better than in the comics and it's only going to get worse for her.
I really enjoyed this episode even though it wasn't completely story focused it really explored plots were felt natural and understandable like Mark having to face the repercussions and consequences of Nolan's actions with the new Darkwing and Atlantis. Plus Debbie's emotional breakdown and mental state were really heartbreaking and you can tell Debbie and Mark's relationship is starting to crack. As well as Eve's story being quite compelling
25:22 The sea monster's sonic attack hurt Mark. Cecil is aware that it has potential as a weapon against a Viltrumite so he wants it researched and duplicated - possibly even improved upon.
@Spartan I have EVERY issue of the comic run, and the tie in Guarding the Globe, and Astounding Wolf-Man.... and I can tell you Kirckman is gonna bring you on one of the wildest rides in comics. Angstrom Levey is a awesome Villain, and his future actions will blow u away..... it's coming guys (IYKYK) @Spartan your soooooo gonna love this show.
I think you guys need a refresher on the martian guy. When that astronaut team was on Mars one of them got taken control by the sequins (Martians mortal enemies) and one of the Martians took his shape and escaped with the astronauts, while the real one stayed on Mars and started taking over. I personally don't think the martian is a bad guy, so I think he can be trusted
Cecil was making note of Mark's reaction to those sound waves. He'll hold onto that and most likely make use of it in future. One thing about his character, he'll always turn something bad into a weapon that he can use later. We saw that a few times in the first season with DA Sinclair and his Reanimen, and the giant Kaiju he used to try and kill Omni-man in the the penultimate episode last season. Stockpiling his options just incase Mark decides to turn one day.
Invincible's power is bouncing back after getting his ass kicked. I think that monster he fought in Atlantis is gonna be the key to defeating Omni Man.

@cailanloki2450 No it wasn't nerd
Debbie wasn't selling her own house. She's a real estate agent. Her job is to sell other people's houses. She sold Olga's house last season.
I thought the house she was selling here WAS Olga's house, I swear we saw this house in season one at some point
