The octopus tentacle is great bait…and regarding the braid slipping on the reel spool….use 25yds of 25 or 30# mono as backing before you spool the braid, or wrap the spool with a couple wraps of cohesive tape
I hope you get the Albacore in your backyard Bodega Bay before you go to Ft Bragg. We canceled our Ft Bragg trip at the last minute when they reported catching at the 601. We got 17 fish between 9 to 22 lbs for our efforts.
yeah it is. My two biggest are from octopus. 34 and 35 inch. Generally its the whole octopus, smaller and the stomach acid already started doing work. Thanks for watching
If braid gets dry or sits on a reel for a year it will slip. Happens with our bass rods at the start of a season. I always seem to find the reel I forgot to respool for the first trip out. Nice lings! Making some good use of the new boat.
That actually came out better then I expect lol I would for sure eat that. Thanks for inviting me out always a good time 👍🏻
Aloha. Good gaff man.
@@adamyoung480thank you so much it took a lot of practice
Awesome video! Looks like you had a fun day on the boat.🐟
Ahmed is the king of gaffing
I always enjoy your under-water footage. Looks like a nice, calm day.
Thank you! I enjoy it too. I have a real cool one coming up with an albacore strike. Not next video though...
Living the life, brother!!!
That was a cool video, with a tasty meal.
Octopus looked amazing, it sure shrunk up. I've never tried it but may have to.
Good for you chris that's good juju beautiful fish
Nice catch! Great video

you got a supper nice boat
thank you
Hey Chris, Do you live live in the valley or in the Bay Area, would love to hook up and do some lingcod fishing, do you charter?
Looked tasty 😋

Tie about 10-20ft of mono backing on first and you'll never have braid slip agian
I thought this was going to be an Albacore video when I got the notification. 😢😅
@@Marv2049 next one, working on it now
1:57 Good for salmon (water temp) hopefully salmon season is open next year
any reason why the rockfish weren't eating the herring?
they will, but why i was trying to use the biggest herring. Guessing lingcod focus on eating other fish, rockfish go for small fish, crabs, shrimp
Aloha. Boat looks comfy, but why would you ruin a completely good piece of bait? Your gaff man was on point!
Chris, what reel is that at 1:55 ? Thx
okuma coldwater line counter reel. Thanks for watching
You should go for albacore I whent out and got 20 out of Albion, wide open
One of the things that sucks about RedRum’s is they get bit when you are trying to do other stuff
We caught a tako in a crab pot there.
When's the tuna trip would like to get in on that
Albacore also 40 miles from Half Moon Bay.
It would be a cool video if you took your boat and went down the coast of California and fished and crab all down the coast
Yeah that sure would be fun. Be a lot easier if I wasnt married and had two kids.
And you have to pass the Golden gate bridge😅
not sure what you mean? Thanks for watching
Thought you would go Iron Chef and make Ling cod Octapus ceviche.
Octopus from a lingcod belly. Can’t say I have ever done that before.
lol right, once i said it looks like you can eat it, it was game on
@@ChrisPfish2 HAHAHA! I might have done it on a dare but not sure it would have been by choice. Good man!
The more you cook pulpo or octopus the more it turns to rubber
