Tony Levin, John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, Cliff Burton, Simon Gallup, Joe 'Foley' McCreary, Juan Nelson, Jaco Pastorius, Chris Squire, etc. etc. etc.etc ... You haven't been paying attention.
Eric Christman Well then in 34 years you have obviously never listened to any type of rock music? I bet I can guess the only two names you recognize, and I bet you couldn't name which bands they played in...
Ok just because I never noticed a bass guitar sounding like a lead/rhythm guitar before, doesn't mean I'm some brain dead jackoff, I'm used to bass and rhythym and/or lead guitar being played together, not a band that only has a bass player as there guitarist, lets get something straight Ive been in bands, I've been, and still am friends with bands, I've seen many, and I do mean many shows/concerts, I own tons of cd's, records, mp3's, I grew up around an older brother who was in many bands, and of course friends with many bands, now do you think I remember all of the names of the members of all of these bands? As for the names I recognized from the list, Cliff Burton was the first I recognized, because as a child of the 80's, and being the younger brother of a punk rocker, Metallica was for many years, my favorite band, unfortunately I was never able to see Cliff Play live, but I did see Metallica in either 2001 or 2002 at the summer sanitarium tour, the second name on the list was John Paul Jones, who doesn't know Led Zepplin? My biological father jammed to the likes of Zepplin, Bob Dylan, etc....and I can still remember as a child shocking not only my father, but an Uncle I had just met, by telling them I was a huge fan of the Doors and Led Zepplin(this was around 11 years old), now a couple of those names look vaguely familiar, but there is an extensive music library in my brain(mostly hardcore/punk/heavy metal, mind you), and I cannot remember every little detail, although Joe 'Foley' McCreary I think is from CCR, but I could be wrong, never the less, aside from the occasional bass solo, I'm just not used to hearing the bass and only the bass so clearly, and played to sound like rhythm/lead guitar.
abczdad Oh and after researching McCreary(one of those things that won't leave your brain until you just "know") I couldn't have been more off, but wow what an extensive and impressive list of musicians(mostly legends) that he's worked with, however that list he's worked with sadly are musicians I've never really gotten into, not that I don't like there music, just none that I've listened to extensively(minus Alice in Chains and a bit of Fishbone).
So, when I first heard a Royal Blood so g, I thought that there were at least two guitars. Seeing them play the song live, I am amazed. What a talented band!
Campbell Bolton-Hampton there is no way thats being played with triggers, you can get your snares to sound that crisp without triggers, plus you can hear the reverb on the skin so its not triggered
These cats popped up on one of my Spotify stations two days ago. I couldn't believe what was coming out of my headphones. My finger couldn't tap that little green thumbs-up icon fast enough. While it played, whatever song it was, I hit their Wiki page and found out they were a DUO. Then I was off to RUclips where I found this video and I see this fella's playing a BASS! Uh-MAzing stuff. Now I'm heading to iTunes...
Great music taste + great songwriting + great ability to play e serve the songs + great instruments + great soung engineering + strong will to be rockstars 🙌🙌
These sound awesome live it would great seeing them in person. It's like if you but white stripes black sabbah a muse in a dark room and let them out in a couple of years and this is what you get
Having heard Mike's story (and being old enough to be his mother), these lyrics break my heart. Thankfully he's said he's on better terms with his family now.
This was the first track of theirs I ever heard on xfm (thanks for that!), and I was hooked. Too awesome for their own good, and anybody who slags them off are quite obvs jealous or insane! Keep it up RB you rock my world!
You were amazing at brid spa, when you came on I was shaking and when you closed the show I started to cry, oml cannot believe I got to witness this genius!!
I'm speachless.......................................You guys "ROCK".... BIG TIME! I'm goona buy your album A.S.A.P Just a bit of FYI... I was reading a article on "Jimmy Page", an in the article he mentions how good you guys are.
Just saw you on the EMA's in the USA and fell in love! Awesome sound, reminds me of rockin' out in my youth in the 60's-70's.. yeah I'm old but still love great rock'n'roll!! I also saw that you're heading over here next year, please consider adding some shows in the northeast, I'm in the NY area. My name is Karen & (I think) I'm your oldest fan! ;>) ROCK!!
it splits his bass sound into two channels so he can run the lower octave into a bass amp and the higher octave into a guitar amp, if that makes sense pah
It's pretty bad ass how he get's his bass to sound like a lead or rhythm guitar, I cannot recall ever seeing that in my 34 years.

So, when I first heard a Royal Blood so g, I thought that there were at least two guitars. Seeing them play the song live, I am amazed. What a talented band!
That snare sounds amazing.
Triggers m8.
Triggers?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigger_(drums)
Campbell Bolton-Hampton there is no way thats being played with triggers, you can get your snares to sound that crisp without triggers, plus you can hear the reverb on the skin so its not triggered
+Campbell Bolton-Hampton not trigger, you can actually hear the dynamic on the snare, he doesnt hit the snare the same all the time
I was introduced to this kickass band through Peaky Blinders.
For today's music, this is fucking great.
As soon as I heard the opening bass riff I was hooked. 10/10

When is the last time before this that you saw a bassist really stretch the concept of a bass? A long time.
Now that's how zildjian cymbals sound!!!! Rocks my face off!!!!
This is by far one of the best songs i've heard in so long!
Just found this band today. I saw the signature bass on sale and had to look up Mike Kerr. Lucky me.
The way that he plays the bass guitar as if it were just a six-string guitar is AWESOME. Gives it a really low-down, heavy feel.
wow, amazing for a two man band, with shredding on a bass to boot, holy fuck, thats epic.
the best real duo in the history
The White Stripes?
+kasper adam Lisowski meg drummer?
Hans Acevedo Alright, she was neither good not really bad. But Jack did amazing with his riffs and solos.
Are you the legendary adam casper, the producer?
That BASS!!!
This is very inspiring for all of those bassist man out there. We Salute you! \m/
how Is it possible that this band sound absolutely incredible when they're only 2 guys in the band!! :O
Great music taste + great songwriting + great ability to play e serve the songs + great instruments + great soung engineering + strong will to be rockstars 🙌🙌
Damn never heard them before they are badass!!
This is proof that maybe rock isn't dead after all. Finally, something unique.
Kick Ass Royal Blood!

Having heard Mike's story (and being old enough to be his mother), these lyrics break my heart. Thankfully he's said he's on better terms with his family now.

spirit rock ✊
Sooooo close to seeing his pedalboard... DAMN IT!!!
Edward Dalton He litterally just has a channel splitter and an octaver
+Space & Sound what's a channel splitter?
it splits his bass sound into two channels so he can run the lower octave into a bass amp and the higher octave into a guitar amp, if that makes sense pah
+Space & Sound is it the same as a signal splitter?
yeah same thing
That outro is just pure sex
I like, sounds like early Muse.
Так точно!Тоже очень нравится!

Amazing sound! Only two of them aswel and one of em on bass guitar how the fuck do these guys do it?

Hope that they will invite you to next years Electric Castle
Looks like the scenario of OneRepublic's "Counting Stars", I was almost surprised when the floor didn't break.
Also... Amazing performance.
For some reason I like this version better than the album version.
I'm a really massive fan but if I had one complaint it would be the chorus to this song, in sessions, but it works great after in a studio
❤
you guys must be getting bored of playing these, I however, have not yet tired of listening to them!
Четко как сама четкость
