As Singaporeans, we owe a debt of gratitude to our founding father, Lee Kuan Yew. His humble abode at 38 Oxley Road holds immense historical significance and should not be demolished. Mr. Lee's contributions to Singapore's prosperity are unparalleled. He built a strong foundation for our nation, and his legacy continues to inspire future generations. The house serves as a testament to his simplicity and thriftiness. Despite having the means to renovate luxuriously, he chose not to. This reflects his character and values, which should be preserved and shared with future generations. Concerns surround the changed will, allegedly executed under unclear circumstances when Mr. Lee was not fully coherent. It is questionable whether Lee Hsien Yang, whose wife might benefit from the changed will, should decide the house's fate. Moreover, as filial children, we believe that Mr. Lee's deepest wish would be for his siblings to remain in harmony, rather than engage in disputes over his final wishes. Demolishing the house would only fuel this discord. In accordance with Chinese Taoist and Buddhist beliefs, the house serves as a spiritual connection for Mr. Lee's soul to return and rest. Let us preserve this sacred space, allowing his spirit to find peace and continue guiding us. We urge the National Heritage Board to study the case and determine the best course of action. Lee Hsien Loong's stance on leaving the decision to the Board is commendable. Let us honour Mr. Lee's memory by preserving his home. It is a fitting tribute to his selflessness and leadership. It’s extremely sad to have such an IMPORTANT HISTORIC landmark ie where the Father of Singapore lived out his years to be demolished. Perhaps the SINGAPORE government must try to stop it being commercialised, pay the family the right money for it and keep it as it is, tourists can visit and wonderful to see a preserved home of the FOUNDER/FATHER of Singapore, IT SHOULD be kept as is, in original design.

His personal lives and belongings are now part of the society and that is where the citizens of Singapore shall decide... A great man has passed, and honouring something of little significance doesn't mean anything to a died person. Dear Hsien Yang Condolences to you for lost of your dearest sister.. move on with your life with your wife and children you loved all these year .. do not return to Singapore and and believe that the SPF say that you are free to return home .. take care you can do better without him … money power and ego are thicker than blood
Yes. What the SPF claimed by publishing their nonchalant attitude towards LHY and wife's fugitive status via the public news online sounds like entrapment. Is so frightening when other Singapore fugitives in perpetual exile overseas learn of such news as well. Just feels so slimy and shady! One must realize no one is above the Law. So, the possibility of justice hanging in the air still falls in the hands of the SPF and SG courts. Once within SG jurisdiction, the SPF can always twist their words immediately in order to nab those culpable.
If he is strong he should return to attend his beloved sister's funeral. He didn't and he will regret for the rest of his life in exile. S'pore belonged to him
My condolences to you and the family for the loss of your beloved sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling. R.I.P. May you let go of the past and return to your good inner self. Be happy and peaceful. I understand that the current circumstances are such that you can’t be by her side at this time but I’m sure your sister was fully cognisant of the reasons why! I’m glad that she was able to confide in you and your second son. Please know that many Singaporeans grief with you and pray that you will be able to look back on your memories as alters of joy and fellowship with your sister, especially with your trip to Machu Picchu. We understand the request of your late dad on not treating 38Oxley Rd as any sort of memorium, I hope your dad’s wishes will be carried out. Lastly we grief together with you and pray for the day that you will be able to once again step boldly on this little isle I’m sure u call home! God bless and keep u and your family. Once again, Profundissimae condolentiae!
The Oxley Road house should not be demolished. It has historical significance for future generations. Whatever convictions Ms Ling & her brother has about the house, it would be selfish & shortsighted to demolish the house & deprive future generations of Singaporeans from being able to appreciate Singapore's legacy.

Deepest condolences, it's always never been easy to lost a close person. Stop create drama, and start to make peace. It's illogical to for anyone with common sense to have interest in how your previous house is going to be. Just call your brother, talk heart to heart. Settle it within your family.

Hopefully the remaining brothers can put aside their differences and reach a mutual understanding, its normal to have misunderstandings in any family.
8:01 Very sad but sincere, heart warming and loving message. Towards the end, demolish Oxley Road than as to your father's wishes. May your sister rest in peace ❤ And you please take care. God bless.
Since there is already a Founder's Memorial being built for the Pioneer Leaders, it's not necessary to have a separate one at Oxley againgst both Mr & Mrs Lee's wishes. May both parents and daughter RIP
I agree. It is a well documented fact that Mr Lee Kuan Yew wanted 38 Oxley Road to be demolished after his passing so that the neighborhood cannot be deprived of future developments.
Hope LHL and others will honour LKY's wishes. Also, LHY is entitled to come back to Singapore. As the eldest brother, you should be taking care of your siblings. You did just the opposite. dont wait till it is too late!
LHY, deepest condolences to you and family on the demise of Dr Lee Wei Ling. Focus on Christ and we will all be reconcile with our departed loved ones one day. God bless!

Singapore would not be where it is today, without founding father Lee Kuan Yew and his team. As a Singaporean born and bred here, in full respect of our founding father’s dying wish, I expect the present government to honour his clear instructions, to demolish 38 Oxley Road. This is a private place, a home for MM Lee and his family; it is not meant to be preserved / conserved as a memorial / museum on public display. I find this to be completely disrespectful of his dying wish. And yet I understand the government’s wish to commemorate him. What then should we do? Honour him by his dying wish. Respect him please! 🙏 That he also expressly stated he didn’t want any founder’s memorial : I am a disappointed and perturbed the present government are going to spend over SGD $350 million on the founder’s memorial park at Marina Bay East Garden - why are they not respecting our founding father’s wishes? It’s exorbitant but most of all, it blatantly ignores him and I think he doesn’t deserve this. Singaporeans already remember MM LKY for all he’s done in his legacy. We deeply respect him. Maybe a less grand / expansive memorial of him would be an acceptable compromise but we need to respect his wishes first and foremost. Mr LHY and Dr LWL have already reiterated this - stop the frivolous spending, a park extension is fine, but re-plough that money with additional funds to help lower living costs, housing prices, food, transport, education and medicine services. More cash / supermarket relief. Social safety nets. This would have made MM Lee proud and happy that his Singaporeans - the people on the street were not pressure-cooked by lofty inflated standards of first world living, rising costs and subjecting its people to even higher GST taxes - this is a stranglehold. Please stop foreigner influx / PR-ship by the droves. We are already very crowded with over 6 million on our tiny land parcel.
Time for reconciliation and empathy, not recriminations and regrets. Please continue to do your utmost to reconcile within the family, because we will all perish one day too, before it is all too late. Your family is blessed, deeply blessed. You and your siblings have probably inherited that iron will of Mr LKY, and Singaporeans have seen how Mr LKY treated those who disagreed with him. Please dont treat your siblings in the same way. Let go of the anger and resentment.
I dun know n understand Why the house issue is brought up again especially during such event? If I m not wrong, I remembered LKY did ever mentioned in his will that if the current government of the day has the final says with regards to the house.
When GCT was looking for women candidates, LKY suggested his daughter and said 'Wei Ling would make a very good MP. - "Tall Order - The Goh Chok Tong Story", volume 1, p 165. The reasons LKY given was that 'Wei Ling had very strong compassion for the down and out. She had a very strong sense of justice. Anything which did not seem just to her -- she would push.' -- Ibid, p 166. In her older brother's words, she's a fighter. Like father, like daughter. She could have been Singapore's first woman Prime Minister.
Why the wish of ur parent to sell the house so important ! If ur sibling doesn’t agreed then don’t sell! Ur parent wouldnt want ur sibling to fight each other ! All tis achievement is nothing all in grave now ! The most important ur family relationship !All becoz of money !
LKY want it to demolish. LWL & LHY administrators are followed his wish, but LHL go against it and pass it to SG Govt. To maintain will be likely taxpayers fund to maintenance the whole place in mil dollars.
🤨🙄your parents both must be feeling very disappointed of their children. Children of LKY should feel lucky n Blessings to be born in this family. No worry's of money ,hunger n shelter. Why fight for your father house to demolish or not demolish. 🏠😵💫Is that really so important.🤔
LKY must be crying in his grave to know his children are tearing at each other. HY , words are poor comforters ! If only WL could listen , she would surely kiss you for it !! RIP 🙏 WL .
I used to respect LHL much more than his brother. As I knew more and Oxley disagreement, I confirmed LHL is a complete failure even though I don't understand why a house is so important.

May common sense prevails.
Waste of time to continue discussing about a HOUSE & fighting among siblings on it !
A RELATIONSHIP is more important than a HOUSE !
Isnt it ?
God bless
LKY was the 1st PM and some of his decisions may not be perfect but as a Stateman he had the power to dictates. His personal lives and belongings are now part of the society and that is where the citizens of Singapore shall decide... A great man has passed, and honouring something of little significance doesn't mean anything to a died person.
Whereas, the Singaporean will view that little material issue is important for the future of the country... 🤔🤔🤔❤️❤️😘😘
Well said..do not let a house be a stumbling block to what is important in our country's survival, family harmony & respect to the wishes of the departing souls who done & sacrifice their privacy for the sake of wellbeing of Singapore. In this world nothing is permanent. Many other options to celebrate those memories & monument. RIP to Dr Lee.
@@cecilialee5587 this is sth that the Singaporean will decide whether to keep it or demolish it.. If we want to honour dead man wishes, the China keeps digging up the past historical tombs..???????
So don't be emotional over family relationship over a building that the citizens of Singapore has a linked to it.. and they also have emotional feelings as well.. Let's honour and respect the living and let the dead rest in peace, and where honour over family feelings come next...
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Hsien Yang, for the loss of your dearest sister Wei Ling. You are such a nice brother. May Dr Lee Wei Ling rest in peace. May God bless you and your family.

My condolences 💐
LKY passionate wish is that you and your brother come together in unity, trust and a strong family bond. That must have been his greatest wish. Not the demolition of 38 Oxley.
Pl know your priority.
If you can please your dad, in his greatest hope, don't talk about honouring him.
i used to wait for sundays just to read dr lee articles 😢 was so dissapointed when they stopped😢
Dear Hsien Yang
Condolences to you for lost of your dearest sister.. move on with your life with your wife and children you loved all these year .. do not return to Singapore and and believe that the SPF say that you are free to return home .. take care you can do better without him … money power and ego are thicker than blood
So sad LSY be strong so heartbreaking
If he is strong he should return to attend his beloved sister's funeral. He didn't and he will regret for the rest of his life in exile. S'pore belonged to him
Hsieh Yang, my heartfelt condolence to you and your family on the passing of your beloved sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling. May she RIP. Thank you.
My condolences to you and the family for the loss of your beloved sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling. R.I.P. May you let go of the past and return to your good inner self. Be happy and peaceful. Let go of anger, let go of ego, let go of attachment of the tangibles and intangibles. All will be well if the family members can talk together. Your Late parents' Souls above will be smiling happily at all of you.
Thanks Hsien Yang for your sharing. U have demonstrated as a principled led individual and won admiration among many Singaporeans.
Our heartfelt condolences for your loss Sir
Thanks for sharing about your sister’s story with us, do let her rest in peace.
Hsien Yang, firstly our deepest condolences on the passing of yr dear sister, I’m glad to hear that the 2 of u had a robust and yet heartfelt relationship.
Glad that LWL was able to go on that trip to Machu Picchu
The Oxley Road house should not be demolished. It has historical significance for future generations. Whatever convictions Ms Ling & her brother has about the house, it would be selfish & shortsighted to demolish the house & deprive future generations of Singaporeans from being able to appreciate Singapore's legacy.
Condolences to you and your family. RIP Dr. Lee
Hope you will reconcile with your brother asap, feel v sorry for your father.
Life is such..you can be successful ambitious & achieved much. But when death arrives, we will all become similar & reduce to ashes.
Self Destructive Family…Pbly in their DNA bcz LKY also Ruthlessly Destroyed not only Political Adversaries But also Influential People, Families & even Entire Families etc … RIP Dear, KARMA Underway ❤
Good and responsible brother .
Heartfelt condolences. John 3:16
Deepest condolences, it's always never been easy to lost a close person.
Stop create drama, and start to make peace. It's illogical to for anyone with common sense to have interest in how your previous house is going to be.
Just call your brother, talk heart to heart. Settle it within your family.
This the best well-meaning, warm, concerned words so far. I hope everything will be alright for the whole family one day. ❤
yup.
U r a good person sir tru Singaporean
Dear Me Lee Hsien Yang ,I know your sister Dr Lee Wei Ling • During the time when I was working in TTSH pharmacy dept • She is very humble and friendly, when she go to the pharmacy n collect • She will follow the Queue, like normal patient never show I am a Doctor must serve first at all • Different from other staffs • My deepest Condolences to you Mr Lee Hsien Yang and your family and to your brother Mr Lee Hsien Loong and family also • I pray to r God our Lord may the perpetual Light shine upon Dr Lee Wei Ling and her Soul rest in Peace • Peace be with you all also
In the end, like every family, only the siblings remain when parents depart. Its endearing that her brother loved and cared for his sister. Am sure you will meet each other on the other side. Metta. Hopefully the remaining brothers can put aside their differences and reach a mutual understanding, its normal to have misunderstandings in any family.
My deepest condolences for the lost of your dearest sister to you and your family ..R.I.P Dr Lee Wei Ling 🎉
Condolence for loss of your sister.
Shared a brief conversation with your son on Fri/am.
God Bless. Take care. 🙏
RIP Dr Lee.
Dear Sir Deepest condolences
8:01 Very sad but sincere, heart warming and loving message. Towards the end, demolish Oxley Road than as to your father's wishes. May your sister rest in peace ❤ And you please take care. God bless.
I totally agree with you bro 👊
希望能按照您父亲的意愿拆除欧思礼岭,完成您父亲的遗愿,也衷心祝愿你们兄弟和好,让您妹妹和父母在天之灵安息。
My deepest condolences to you on the demise of your elder sister. May Dr Lee rest in peace.
My deepest and sincere condolences for your loss, Lee HY, esq.
Good on you, Mr LHY!
From now onwards,yr sister will continue 2watch over u always!
Sincere Condolences.
Poignant event and let the fair minded public comment. God Bless.
Why no return to SG to attend funeral?
Hope LHL and others will honour LKY's wishes. Also, LHY is entitled to come back to Singapore. As the eldest brother, you should be taking care of your siblings. You did just the opposite. dont wait till it is too late!
@@gailline greed over famous and money.
It is already too late when 2 current ministers were able or "daring enough" to sue him.

Yes we (or I) will respect the instruction left behind by Dr Lee.............one vote to compliance.....
I missed her weekly articles, may her soul rest in peace.
Due to Dr Lee's article about CREW leaving the JOB due to pregnancy..there were no BENEFITS before. After Dr Lee spoke about it... BENEFITS were given to CREW leaving for child birth which were a natural process..Thanks to her...This happened..😢❤She feels for PEOPLE...❤Thank you Dr Lee..you will be MISSED..😢
Thanks for insight into your sister.
Rest in Peace Dr.Lee Wei Ling 😢❤
RIP Dr. Lee may God bless yr soul !
That he also expressly stated he didn’t want any founder’s memorial : I am a disappointed and perturbed the present government are going to spend over SGD $350 million on the founder’s memorial park at Marina Bay East Garden - why are they not respecting our founding father’s wishes?
Thanks for speaking up my mind too 🫡
sir when coming back home👍👍👍👍❤❤❤
He would not come back the police will place him n his wife under arrest n no guarantee returning back to England...😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Are there eunuches behind the imperial family inciting the imperial siblings to destruct each other.
Life is shorter, make good. Dr Lee would be even more at peace in spirit. Take care, move on.
I dun know n understand
Why the house issue is brought up again especially during such event? If I m not wrong, I remembered LKY did ever mentioned in his will that if the current government of the day has the final says with regards to the house.
I agree with you. It’s a Eulogy and I was baffling “what & why” about the house now too. Utter inappropriately done.
Bec the fate of the house will arise after LWL is no longer occupying the house. That's why it is being brought up again.
He was just fulfilling the wishes of LWL as she was the last occupant of the house...
It is a self serving speech masquerading as an eulogy.
LKY is a great man and need to be remembered for successive generation, so it is not logical to destroy anything in memory of him.
Retribution will come soon....
Let's be brave to face what's to come.
Retribution shd fall on Ho Chin.....really 慈禧太后
🏠😵💫Is that really so important.🤔
what do they know about sweating and slogging ?
hardly stood on their own 2 feet
piggy-backed all the way, preferential arrangements
Mr Lee more takecare be strong too.
Very sad eulogy from a very close brother 😔
Interesting the 2 younger siblings were closer .. the brother said his eldest brother was a loner . RIP ..a brilliant mind
LKY must be crying in his grave to know his children are tearing at each other. HY , words are poor comforters ! If only WL could listen , she would surely kiss you for it !! RIP 🙏 WL .
I totally agree with you bro 😎
Did these sons carry their own field packs during NS ?
I am very curious of the eulogy of LHL for his younger sister
15 mins left already.
I used to respect LHL much more than his brother. As I knew more and Oxley disagreement, I confirmed LHL is a complete failure even though I don't understand why a house is so important.
Bottom line both Ling and HY are family oriented whereas HL is self centered denying his father's wishes trampling his siblings with no care.
❤ the family of LKY !.
From your last words for LWL, shows your closeness to her and family personal desires.
