Despite the fact that this comment should not be seen as an insult to anyone, most of these folk who prefer the American English do not actually know how the British English sounds nor why it is so easy and smooth. It's a matter of diffusion.

I love the British accent, but I don't agree with you at all. In the US people speak English and as any other place the idiom changes, regarding the pronunciation. You say that the British English is the correct one, but even where it is spoken it has various different nuances and ways of saying the same word. Even in such a tiny country like England you can notice the accent changing, listening to native "real English" speakers. If you compare, then, the accent of a Londoner and a Scottish you'll surely see differences. You might prefer the British English, but that doesn't make American accent wrong. It's merely a variation of the language, which isn't solid justification to prejudice.

    Hi Lucy!
I love your videos, they have been very useful for me.
About the quality of them, I have some suggestions:
1- Stay a little more far from your camera
2- Take care with the focus
3- Try to remove this noise of your sound, you can do this in your software that you edit your videos, like Premiere, Vegas or Audition, there are some videos here on RUclips teaching how to do this.
That's it, your videos are awesome, your channel is growing a lot, not only because you're beautiful, but also because you're a nice teacher, congratulations!
    Kisses from Brazil!

I emmigrated from the UK to New Zealand with a strong Manchester accent. People often couldn't understand what I was saying so I've learned to speak slower. I think it's polite to speak slower in a different country, when I hear people talking fast now I think it quite rude for for people who may not have English as a first language.

Hi Lucy, could you make a video about the /z/ sound? I find it difficult in normal conversation, whether I use /s/ or /z/ properly. As in this list, the word use has /z/ sound as a verb and /s/ as a noun, that is even more confusing when speaking!

At least in spelling, Z is more American while S is more British.

I’m here not for myself, but for my classmates. I’ve had the accent since I was 8, so I’ve got it down, and, therefore, I’ve been tasked with finding videos to help my classmates learn the accent. We’re putting on a play in which we all need British accents, but no one’s got one except for me, and the play is in about 3 weeks…. Wish me luck!😂😂
