I can't help but think of the movie Fight Club as you talk of your watch obsession 😄 “We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like” Tyler Durden
Jeff I have this weird thing that happens to me whenever I buy a new watch. I begin to fantasize about it until it arrives and when I unbox it I am immediately disappointed and even disgusted by the watch. It inevitably doesn’t live up to my expectations and I have buyers remorse. This recently happened with the Sinn U50. To combat this I decided to wear it everyday for a month. At first I hated it, but after forcing myself to bond with it for a few days I am now in love. This watch can do no wrong in my eyes and I am in a state of pure ecstasy.
I have no idea why I love your videos, I just do. It's like a pair of slippers and a cup of coffee ha ha, a warm hug in a youtube video. Love it Mcmahon. Keep being a watch addict, a philosophical great dude.
Bought my first ever tropic strap for my diver last week after watching the channel. Been wearing it over the weekend and am delighted with it - definitely the way ahead! ⌚️😊
I think you’ve hit on some great themes for the channel, being in my late 60s, excited about watches of course, but also working on my diet and exercise routines and philosophy of life in general. Interesting point about putting an orange strap on the 055.
I made the mistake of counting my watches. I was in collection size denial. 82 watches. I thought I had around 50 to 55. But I sold 8 last week, so that’s a good start, right McMahon? I’m striving towards minimalism… first gotta get the collection down under 50! 😮
Personally I can only fix one thing at a time. Watches are not your immediate problem, food is (like the rest of us). I believe that carbs and sugar are the enemy. Keto is the minimum benchmark, but real men go carnivore, just for a couple of months. Its incredible. The weight fell off me and my brain was transported to a time in my mid twenties when my head was clear and worked as God intended.
No.. my thinking is, I freaking work very hard, I train 3 times a week, I don’t indulge in a fancy way of life, I am modest and polite-as my parents taught me- so why should I put my only non essential activity down?? This is my one thing, where I can be more free, and a bit less overthinking everything. So I absolutely enjoy my many watches, wear them and treat them very nicely..
To collect watches or not to collect torture for the brain but if there is one girl watch which would you have it only one watch ever for all occasions whether work whether church or a interview or whatever
Ffs jeff just buy an 043 , its a masterpiece, seikos best modern vintage style diver . Youll hate the size at first, but then you will realise how good the watch actually is. Its a great one watch , and you could finally free yourself from the madness . You wont want to wear anything else , its a no brainer mate !!!
MCMAN! I use to have so munch watches, now I slimed down only kept sentimental watches that are too cheap to sell, and now I only have a sla047 MM300, I don't rotate my watches now and it feels good.
MCMAN! channel was always like a conversation/food for thought and you as a person it was never really about watches, your hand gestures, facial expression, voice its everything but the watch I will be watching you MCMAN
I'm on aboard with that. Watches and health. I have a very good friend. We started messaging on WUS in and now email weekly. The point is we started exclusively messaging about watches, watch madness, keeping it real, ie, smaller collection sizes, all that stuff. But as we're both middle-aged grumpy men, it's morphed into watches and health. Ozzempic, such a modern thing. How to live without consequences, or be responsible for one's own decisions.

I should make a video about this.

I’m a few decades from 60 but I’ll keep watching. I enjoy the thought exercise.

As far as the channel shift goes, I have one word for you Jeff; Mukbang.

Living vicariously through you , hope you buy the SLA043 soon !
I’m loving this prolifically creative period you’re going through. Like a long stream of consciousness broken up into digestible chunks.

I wouldn’t get wound up about it
All these things are true excessive weight and lack of exercise are markers for Alzheimer’s. Unfortunately most Processes food is not good for health.
Congrats on 10K

SPB143 + Divecore = ❤
You should try Bonetto Cinturini 328 Rubber Nato. Great option if you like nato style but hate wet straps.

If you're connecting to your large watch collection, then it is no problem.

Every since I down sized my collection I never felt better about it
Challenge: Try not touching your chin
Results: Impossible.
Seriously tho, the chin touching is getting ridiculous.
Could be a wrist pose thing, but in 1990 my students made fun of me for chin-scratching, so this habit has a history.
if you want to loose weight i recommend jump rope, after 5 min you'll be gasping for air
What's stopping you from going carnivore McMahon?
Expensive
First!!!
✌🏻🧑🏻🦲✌🏻
Hay man you look 50.
