Libby! Thank you 🤍 ME TOO I 300% prefer handmade paintings, but for the purpose of the packagings I am designing making them digital is way better as the products will look better this way, I am taking it as a beautiful way of learning a new "technique" haha 😌

I’m the worst with instructions. I also rip into packages in a way that nothing can be saved. I basically wrestle the item out of the package and then end up digging in the trash to find an important missing part. ;) I believe I’m smart enough to do everything without instructions. I usually am, but not always! :D

Hey Caro ♥️ Fellow Linux user here. I really recommend Krita for digital drawing/image manipulation. I run it in Linux Mint and use a Wacom tablet. I'm fairly new to digital stuff too so I will let you know what other Linux nuggets I find on my journey 😊

It's crazy how many similarities I have with some woman living far, far from where I am who I've never met before. First of all, she's Peruvian and loves plants. I lived two years in the Peruvian selva studying with a Shipibo vegetalisto/ayahuasquero family and have been going back every year for several months to do plant dietas with my maestro. Number 2- she's an artist - so am I- although my "day job" is being an astrologer. Number 3 - she keeps a dream journal (and I saw in one video that she has the book "The Tibtan Yogas of Dream and Sleep") Bam. So do I - I love that book and am obsessed with the dream world (part of my training in Peru has allowed me to work with dreams ;)). She's a yogini. Me too - I even studied in India with a guru and do yoga every day. She is big into natural self-care and ayurvedic self-care. Same here. I even have a practitioner's license in ayurveda. She has long hair. Same. I'm obsessed with long hair and also view it as a magical extension of our life force. I massage, care for and do rituals surrounding my hair. I water my plants with diluted menstrual blood. I also take the first 2-3 days off when I'm on my period and just do absolutely nothing. I am currently reading "Braiding Sweetgrass" and obsessed, like crazy obsessed with plants, especially the spiritual qualities of plants which is why I have been living on/off in Peru for the past 11 years. I haven't been back since 2019 because of the pandemic but hopefully soon... Keep up being beautiful, Caro! I feel less like a crazy artist-yogini-plant lady when I watch your videos. Oh and I also have 2 cats ;) ;) ;)

I also get so sad when I see so many materials that are bad for the environment. I used to work in retail and when we would get 10-20 shipment boxes of clothes per day, EVERY SINGLE ITEM was individually wrapped in plastic that we had to unwrap and throw away. Instead of just having the entire box lined with the plastic, we ended up with multiple trash bags per day stuffed with it. It blows my mind that companies don’t think of better solutions.

I am SO bad at investing in tech too! My last comp. was for 10 years! I have really been wanting an ipad for a long time so that I can use procreate for my work but I keep fighting it because I like trad art but feel pressure that 'everyone' is doing procreate. But I actually think I am now accepting that I am better at digital art than trad so maybe I should now dive in? EDIT: May I ask do you do your digital work in procreate on ipad?

Sorry to interfere but I really get what you’re saying, in fact I feel just the same about trad. vs digital art!
What I now do is painting an original artwork (in watercolors), photograph it and work on it again in procreate.
For me it is the best way to get the best of both worlds, because you can keep the ‘authentic’ feel of trad. art and at the same time correct mistakes, or do things that would be quite difficult to achieve only with real paint 😊

I chose to get an ipad instead of a laptop, sometimes I miss having a laptop but mostly it’s fine 🙂
