- Hi everyone. In this video I will explain how to use a grid for your vector illustration. I made it little bit experimental (with voiceover and pictures)

So glad you add your personality to these videos, it makes it that much more enjoyable. Aside from that, the content you provide is so valuable! Thanks Dan!
Love the new video transitions/design and hearing your voice in the explanations! Keep at it!
I really like your art styles, simple and beautiful!
another tip: you can optimize your color workflow by selecting all the shapes and use Edit -> Edit Colors -> Recolor Artwork. This tool allows you to use color scheme from your library and you can fine tints, values etc... Then (or alternatively) I like to create a swatch group, created from Artwork with "Convert Process to global" option checked. This will allow tweaking any color in the swatch group and illustrator will apply them to all shape that shares the color swatch.
The music is dope. clearly not my everyday listening, but I want to say that's one of the reasons I subscribe to your channel (and for inspiration too :)).
Yay! Thank you! Because of you, I finally started learning Photoshop and Illustrator.
Truly enjoy on your video, especially the ending part interaction with rhythm! Yet also found it very useful tutorial. Thanks a lot =)
Really cool tutorial ! I've learned some shortcuts and methodology thanks to you ;)
Nice one! Thank you for the tutorial. Keep up the good work!

Great video! Really appreciated the voiceover :D
Awesome tutorial!! You show the raw product all the way to the finish!!!
Thanks for the fantastic tutorials! :) I love the textures one. That toggle on/off things annoys me too. To switch it off, you can just click on the top left button on the drawing tablet.
i love your art and bgm !
Omg, thank you for making this! I have been experimenting with this style lately and I didn't even think of using a grid. Oh, and I love the loud music its dope!
Mark Boehly there is no need of grid, this level of precision is required in photorelestic designs not this one.
Really want to try this! Thank you!
Awesome tutorial. Thanks. ❤️

Now a tutorial on that motion graphic intro would be great!

This is ridiculously amazing, definitely a permanent sub. Do you sell any of this artwork?
Incredible ! Thanks a lot for this tutorial.
Besides, can someone help me ? How can I improve my understanding of values ? Are there any % of black/grey for each part that will always work ?
I really want to start with black & white but I always mess up it...
Thanks for helping me !
🔥🔥
This is so useful. I'm a beginner and I'll try this out. Will this work in photoshop? Or it only works best in illustrator?
Does *every* shape obey to the grid?
Can you make a tutorial on how you made your intro clip. Did you make it photoshop? Thanks!
Please help.
How to border a square at 2: 28 ?
1:25 lol! Nice video :D
this reminds me about kurzgesagt
How long does it take you to finish one illustration ? I'm just curious about the detailing part. That makes the whole illustration come to life.
How to come up with awesome ideas like you?
cocaine.
like i ask every other illustrator again, how do you create the sketches from memory? i can follow the steps, but i wont be able to create a different illustration on my own
share us the playlist man!
when you put the rectangles in how do you bring the sharp corners into a curve, what tool is it ?
available in illustrator cc
Hi! How do you decide on your color scheme?
Why not ctrl+; for instant grid then ctrl+alt+shift+y for overprint preview? I do this when I want to pen tool a sketch precisely and see my image below.
Awesome man! Can you share your sketch? If that's okay. I'm practicing AI.
amazing, may i ask what's the music at 00:00 please
brush name ? pls
awesome
can someone explain why good color scheme always start using grayscale first? i'm suck at coloring step :(
Never thought that I would find KSP music here lol.
cmd + 5 doesn't work with mine?
help
what is the command "cmd+5" on windows?
Very nice video as always. But just let you know, there is a grid tool in illustrator. Right click line segment tool, there's a grid tool there.
with a calculator :) 1200/8=150, 900/8=112.5, round those values and you get the number of dividers.
but the proper way is too edit the Grid in Preferences, using Gridelines every: 8px and subdivision: 1
1:26 totally agreed
❤❤❤❤
Awkward music: "If you want to get nice take my advice, cocain" LOL
It caught me off guard too until I realized it was the lyrics from Eric Clapton’s song Cocaine.
How you do the curves corners with the square/rectangular objects? Does it comes with the new adobe suit? 'cause I can't find it.
yes, it comes with the new AI. They make it easier to curve square/rectangular/pretty anykind objects with point..
So It's not in CS6 right?
Yes, CS6 doesnt have that fiture yet.
