It is actually quite accurate. The Neolithic peoples were the first to inhabit Ireland, followed by a wave of Bell Beaker folk. The third and final wave was the Celts, who arrived in Ireland around 700-600 BC (or sometime around that). The Anatolians are questionable., however.

You can rely on absolutely no information on the Internet, it's completely broken. Who have we p1553d off so much for them to put time, money and energy into creating such a load of made up crap.
No that is absolutely true they do descend from Spanish celts, there was a genetic study done around 2004. I was just reading it. There are several articles published on it so its both people who are Irish and from England and Scotland that have Celtic ancestry.
Regarding Ancestry and 23&Me they are only going back approximately 6 to 8 generations and really are geared to the American market. They aren't looking at deep ancestry and are comparing testers to samples of people with long term ancestry in populations now. They aren't using ancient dna. Also there is no reason to mix up myths i.e. the Milesian saga with dna. Irish did not come from Spanish populations.
Totally agree, and that is what most, well many I would say, are using these DNA tests for. They want to know where their ancestors that emigrated came from because they don't know more than a few generations at best in many cases, if that. They want to know if they are 25% Irish, 30% French, 30% Iberian, 15% a mixture of other things, not that they are 80% bell beaker, that's not what these tests are for. They are also estimates with error margins, something most people seem to not realise, and that they change over time. The other thing is that these tests are really more for genealogical purposes, so building a family tree to confirm the Ethnicity Estimate, but again most people aren't interested in that. They just want something interesting to show their friends, it really a gimmick for those type of people (that said their tests, which appear in my shared matches, can be useful in grouping my matches together so I'm not complaining).
well i have a shared ancestor to James Franklin ward of done gal with so many carrying his name in amurika 200 years distance = iberia 2500 yars distance yes some irish belong to gallo iberian tribes , they come from same origins cimerians thracians
I don’t believe that the Irish people have originate from the celts of Spain. If they did, modern Irish people would have substantially more Anatolian Farmer ancestry, since they inhabited Spain, as well as the British isles. My best guess is, that they were apart of the first migration of West Eurasians to inhabit the British isles. The second and larger migration, were the brythonic P-Celtic speaking people. My theory is that the P Celts they either pushed the Irish into Ireland, killed them, or the Q-Celtic people got absorbed into brythonic society. Or perhaps both groups came to Britain as one migration, and some groups decided to settle, while others chose to migrate further. Since they were genetically the same people, geneticists wouldn’t be able to differentiate between the two groups.
He's getting pseudo-history mixed up with actual history. There are quite a few good dna studies done on the Irish now and no they didn't originate from Spain because the biggest migration into Ireland was in fact the Bell Beakers in the Bronze Age which was a near complete replacement of the population. Since that time there has been smaller migrations of Vikings, Normans, and various British groups. Also yes Irish have a lot more Steppe ancestry than Spanish populations and less farmer. Irish have slightly more Steppe than their English neighbours so how would this be possible if they originated from Spain?
The Irish ppl are originally from Scandinavia seriously this pale skin light eyes and blonde or redhead from where they come instead of Scandinavia those features sanely existed up to 60 width line so the only locals in the world who live there is Scandinavians Important Note : for those whose will say what about Finland simply they're also Scandinavians and for north Russia tey have also Scandinavian ancestors maybe they get mixed with Asians or old ages ppl but still
He has it all wrong. WHG is no more than about 2%. The Neolithic component is about 15%. Northern people have Scottish and Norse DNA and v little Saxon.
I argued with a black nationalist two weeks ago. They think Irish are black. A simple question would be how did sub Saharan Africans get out of Africa when they did not domesticate animals or have the wheel or boats It was highly offensive to arguing with this person because he kept on call me product of England like I’m English
I’ve seen my dna chart change drastically over the years. I got Ancestry’s version about 5-7 years ago and I realize it changes overtime as more people give their dna, but I see big discrepancies between my close family so I might just take you up on your offer.
That is so absurdly inaccurate. It's a healthy balance between the two. Iberian, Basque-related peoples, EEF, CHG, Steppe, WHG, the list goes on. They will on average have more EEF dna than Scandinavia and North East Europe. It's really not that complex to understand. The closer the country is to the steppes, the more steppe dna they will have. . Though Ireland is North, it is wedged between both the most concentrated area of Anatolian farmer DNA AND Steppe DNA to it's east. So it will be a healthy mix of two. Do you dislike Anatolian farmer dna or something? Where did you read that nonsense? Or are you just making up baseless nonsense.
@paleohunterWHG The original population of the British Isles which had overwhelming neolithic dna akin to modern Spaniards was practically wiped out by Beaker people who were overwhelmingly of steppe origin genetically. The % of neolithic dna he gives here is nearly as much as one could expect for French people. There is no way the Irish have the same amount of neolithic farmer dna that French people have.
@paleohunterWHG Not at all. To the contrary, in fact. I think neolithic farmers and other migrants from the fertile crescent were the greatest addition to the European genetic pedigree. That's why Eastern Europe is a shithole and Latin Europe civilized everyone else.
@paleohunterWHG I'm not suggesting British Islanders are solely steppe ancestry...but farmer dna makes up a very marginal % of their genetic makeup compared to steppe dna.
@@GaspardDuMaurierEsq Well, you're wrong. And if for some reason you don't think you're wrong, take a DNA test. G25. Especially if you're Irish. Let me know what it says. The paternal line of the Bell Beakers certainly did overwhelm the Neolithic - iron age invaders and now drastically outnumbers them. VERY drastically. But that did not rid them of their EEF dna.. At all.. | Irish have always had it. The steppe people that came even had it..
I don't know what you are using for Celtic here because Irish do not have much Continental Celtic dna. That must be mostly Insular Celtic and not Continental Celtic dna. Also is you look at dna cluster maps the Irish cluster where they should i.e. with British Islanders and Scandinavians. This is mostly due to Bronze Age genetic similarity. The Ulster Scots were not much different than the Irish genetically and like Irish have a lot of this Bell Beaker ancestry. Also there is some Viking genetics in both the Irish and Scots as was stated in the large Viking dna study that came out a couple of years ago. English of course have a large contribution from the Anglo Saxons.
@@MiloManning05 That's true. It's funny how the Western British differ so much from the Eastern British, but "Occam's Map" explains it when you look at geography.
Please avoid use Colonization as synonym of invasion and neo colonization. we ibero-Americans have Identity crisis because of this demonization. Neo colonization is modern and destruction of others' economies
DNA test Ethnicity Estimates are a gimmick, that would be taken as an estimate, but the truth is most people take them as fact. The reason for taking a test shouldn't be these estimates anyway but to help you build a family tree using the shared matches so you actually have proof of where your family came from, but most people aren't interested in that and just want an instant hit telling them where their ancestors were from. These estimates should get better with time as more people test from more places around the world but they are a work in progress and not a fixed value, the estimates will change over time from what they start off from.

The prophet Mohammed was actually described with red hair. The ancient ancestors of the Celts originate under the Hameitc peoples from Noah near the Caucausus region and migrated west through Anatolia and north Africa until they reached Europe. The Celts in North Africa continued through Iberia and migrated through sea to Ireland and Britain. The ones who remained in North Africa are berbers and moors. That's why some of them still have red or blonde hair and share a little bit of DNA with north west Europeans. The Celts who went through Anatolia became part of the ancestors of the ancient Greeks, Germanic peoples, and mainland Celts. Some of them continued westward known as the bell beaker people who then migrated to Britain and Ireland. The last major migration was from the Anglo Saxons, as well as some admixture from viking raiders.

It's interesting to think where their ancestors came from. Ancient people got around.

Good video. But Anglo-Saxon DNA isn't really big in England and its about 25 % on East Coast, which is a stone throw away from Germany and Holland, so to speak. Celtic DNA itself is a debatable point, as few Celtic scholars even agree on who the Celts were or where they originate ( some say Central Europe, others somewhere on the Atlantic). It is actually quite accurate. The Neolithic peoples were the first to inhabit Ireland, followed by a wave of Bell Beaker folk. The third and final wave was the Celts, who arrived in Ireland around 700-600 BC (or sometime around that). The Anatolians are questionable., however.

Good video, just pointing out to any readers that the majority of Irish people have brown hair. We (and Scotland, closely followed by England) have a higher percentage of red heads then anywhere else BUT its still a minority trait and only a very small percentage of Irish people have (or have ever had) red hair.

Its just terrible isn't it - completely made up!
The Irish are Indo-Europeans
See: Son of Manu.
The Irish ppl are originally from Scandinavia seriously this pale skin light eyes and blonde or redhead from where they come instead of Scandinavia those features sanely existed up to 60 width line so the only locals in the world who live there is Scandinavians
Important Note : for those whose will say what about Finland simply they're also Scandinavians and for north Russia tey have also Scandinavian ancestors maybe they get mixed with Asians or old ages ppl but still

Anatolian farmer % is way too high for the Irish. They're maybe 10% at most with far more steppe dna.
Let me know what it says.

what were the results
100% correct.
You're right. Western Scottish people cluster closely with Irish people. It's the Eastern Scottish who are more Anglo-Saxon.
