I built a Just Aircraft Highlander with a 912 Rotax. I had toggle switches for each ignition channel and a push button for starter. After "burping" the engine I turned the engine over with ignition off until I saw oil pressure and then flipped the ignition on to run.
Good job brother! I like the in-depth incite into each little part of the build ! , , , you are very particular, but show what you were given with and what you decided to be the best option , Thanks! I am going to be building a Badland Ultralight Aircraft "Kitfox Light" soon and will eventually building a Kitfox, I look forward to each of your videos!
Hi roger. Is there anything you would change in respect to your hoses you got from Steve. I’m going to order the same package as you and just wanted to know how well it all fitted. Thanks.
After your engine start it sounded like there was some odd noise at lower rpm which went away at slightly higher rpm. (most prominent from 9:10 to 9:17) I was wondering if that is "clutch chatter", and if so, are you supposed to avoid certain low rpm ranges to avoid that chatter? Thanks in advance and, as always, thanks for your build videos.

That's got to be a good feeling to have the wind in your face after all the work you've put in. Great Job!
Congrats on first engine start! Nice stage to be at. :)
There is a drying threadlock available. Sorry don't remember brand name. Put on window screws, let dry then install.
Thanks for all the videos. I have watched everyone of them. You seem to give a realistic view of what it takes to build a Kitfox.
I can Almost see you fighting the urge to throttle it up and go fly.. :) Very Nice.

I have two Rotax 912iS engines and I love them. Would never go back to carbs. Nice build. If your ever in Alaska look me up.
Right on

Everything fits great! And I've had no problem with any of the hoses!

Yes my idle was set too low. It's sounds like a diesel farm tractor. It's definitely not advisable to do that for extended periods of time.
How much is this engine?
Just curious if you found a weight difference between the Kitfox supplied hoses and the aftermarket ones you installed?
probably 3 x the weight. Stainless is heavy. But I could probably take a leak and drop more weight than the difference!

What method did you use to put your floor boards in?
rivnuts and screws
