Carbs don’t normally make metal grinding rattling noises. There are definitely not normal noises coming from the top end of the motor kinda sounding like it’s grinding it self to pieces. Good luck.
Cool Bananas! She’s alive. Well done, this re-build has been a pleasure to follow along on. We are keen to hear what the future holds for this bike, I hope you keeping her.
Carl, well done series. I have a KZ1000 (Americanization of Kawasaki edition # 9/200) that hasn't run in 15-25 years. Yours is the first KZ video series I found that covers beginning to end videos. So helpful and well shot and explained!! Thank you so much. Any chance you could post a short video showing us the vendors and people that you used to complete the project? For instance, the people that provided rear master cylinders, and others. Again, thanks and congrats on your beautiful Z1R completion!!
there are a bunch of aftermarket performance upgrades on it. The 34mm Mikuni flat slides are one of them and they were jetted for the Kerker by the guy I bought them from... Redline cycles.

Hi Carl,
Great restoration ❤How long does it take to do the Z1R?Congratulations
Hi, it took about a year.
@@wastingmymoneyonmotorcycles Wow.planning to do mine too
its difficult to make out but something sounds very odd from the top end is the cam chain adjusted up and the valves in spec
Congratulations Carl, nice looking build. And she RUNS !
Did you re-jet the carbs with that Kerker exhaust? Or did I hear you say they were new?

OIL???
It has oil in it. Watch the next one
ok, it started, but that sound..... I more like my Yamaha ( ruclips.net/video/qRWbQQ4HSws/видео.html)
Ya I just need to take the baffle out of the kerker. That will make it so loud it masks the popping noise. Nice Virago.! very smooth.
Sounds like timming chain bro.
Do you have any kz for sale ?
