    Great video. Thank you. Isn´t it a kind of Spectre with less options? What do you think? Thank you.

      If you look at it, the God Mode will look like a lot of other multiband plugins. But, instead of using a fixed number of bands, or selectable number of bands, it uses an eq curve. So the basics behind it is different. Bands ( with crossover) vs a curve.
      You can get similar results with any of them for sure and each will have their own somewhat different sounding staurtaion/distortion models.
      And the God Mode can use the 3 types of distortion at the same time. I haven't seen much plugins do that. The VSM 3 can do 2 types at the same time.

      Denise Audios distortion sounds different from anything else I've heard. I love they're Bad Tape plugin

      @@Byronic19134 Nice! How does it sound different to you? Is it because of the eq-curve or really a different sound?

    Nice video, the concept behind this plugin is very nice, the idea super cool. But I find the sound of the saturation very underwhelming. Too bad, it'd have been a winner for me otherwise :) !

      Hey thanks for commenting!
      Yeah well, you like it or not :-) In what way is it underwhelming, what do you expect from the saturation?

    • @WheelieMix
      @WheelieMix 4 года назад +1

      @@audiotoolshed To me, it sounds like it's full of artifacts. A nice saturated sound, you start to feel the sound getting fatter before it reaches obvious clipping. As some examples : When you push into a 1073. Or when you push into a Thermionik Culture Vulture. Even any good tube preamp will do that. And it is even more obvious on tape saturation, when you push into, it has also an impact on the transients. The Cranborn Camden Preamp in Cream mode gives a nice "imitation" of this behavior for example. I could the plugin not find it to sound somewhat similar here, in my humble opinion.

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 года назад

      @@WheelieMix Absolutey valid reasons. I was already assuming you would mean the fattening of the sound.
      One could also state that this plugin sound ''digital'' for whatever that still means these days.
      It's also really more of a distortion plugin then saturation.
      I do like it, I bought it, but by no means I see it as a 100% emulation of analog gear even when they use a description like ''tape emulation'' and use saturation in their promos.
      I look at the plugin at his own merits, and it definitely does add something useful in my mixing.
      Different tools for different jobs !
      ps. still posting videos on a regular basis? I subscribed.

      @@audiotoolshed I think you are absolutely right when you say it is a DISTORTION plugin. As that how it felt to me listening to your video !
      I can see how it could be useful (especially pushing midrange on bass).
      P.S. : Thanks for the subs ! It's tough to find the time to record/edit all those videos while still making a living out of mixing music, but I got a future video to come soon yes indeed (one that will require me a little bit less work but will give an answer to a highly debated question ).

      Man videos take a lot of time to do, people underestimate how much work goes into these videos. Looking forward! Salut!

      Mine are VSM-3 - Vertigo, Phil´s Cascade - Brainworx, DarkGlass - Neural DSP/ Subvert - Glitchmachines, Spectre - Wavesfactory, The Pre-Amps from Fuse Audio Labs, The Pedals from Audiority, The Abuser - Audiority and too many more to list here - but definitely NOT the decapitator from soundtoy or Saturn from FabFilter :)

      @@nichttuntun3364 Haha, der Saturn ist gut ;-) Es gibt doch mehrere Tape Simultation plugins, den Kramer Tape von Waves hab ich öfter benützt und auch die von Slate digital. Sind so viele da :-)

    • @nichttuntun3364
      @nichttuntun3364 4 года назад +1

      @@audiotoolshed Ja, krass viele. Die sind schon alle gut, bis auf die Slates kenne ich die meisten. Der Saturn, naja...ist so ne Sache, wie bei allem von FabFilter. Die features und Benutzeroberfläche sind (wenn nicht zu überladen) meist sehr gut, aber ich kann dem Sound leider keine 100% bestätigen. Ich finde Saturn ist ziemlich künstlich klanglich.
      Ich finde SATIN von U-He ist derart multitaskfähig, da kommt kein anderes plugin mit. Nicht nur klingt es extrem vielseitig und auch gut, es ist in der lage (als sound-design tool) im Mix jeden Track klanglich so hinzubiegen, dass er immer und überall passt. Du solltest unbedingt mal mit verschieden Compander modulen untereinander spielen. Alleine diese Funktionen eröffnet kleine Soundwelten, mal abgesehen von den vielen anderen Schräubchen und Stellrädern :) Ich mag zum Beispiel auch sehr das Magnitide von Black Rooster, es klingt sehr gut, gegen die sonstigen Fähigkeiten von Satin bleibt es jedoch ein "Spielzeug", wohlgemerkt ein äußerst gut klingendes. Naja gut, ersetzen wir mal "Spielzeug" durch "Werkzeug" :)
      Ich habe mir das God Mode Plugin übrigens auch zugelegt, nachdem mich Perfect Room klanglich vollends überzeugt (Die CPU Last ist nur leider nicht gerade erfreulich) hat...das "kleine" tool macht mir richtig richtig Spaß, obwohl das Mini-GUI auf hochauflösenden Monitoren, trifft auch auf Perfect Room zu, mir nicht gerade bedienerische Freude bereitet. Das sollte unbedingt noch nachgebessert werden. Viele Grüße
