  • The K2 mountain, also known as Mount Godwin-Austen, is the second-highest peak in the world after Mount Everest. It is located in the Karakoram Range on the China-Pakistan border. Climbing K2 is considered extremely challenging and dangerous, with a high fatality rate, earning it the nickname "Savage Mountain." The K2 mountain is 8,611 meters above sea level.
K2 has several routes to the summit, but the most commonly used are the Abruzzi Spur on the Pakistani side and the North Ridge on the Chinese side. Climbers face numerous challenges, including extreme weather conditions, avalanches, icefalls, and technical rock and ice climbing.
It's important for climbers to be well-prepared, physically and mentally, and to have experience in high-altitude mountaineering before attempting K2. Due to its challenges, climbers often gain experience on other 8,000-meter peaks before attempting K2. The extreme conditions and risks associated with K2 make it an iconic and respected peak in the mountaineering community.
In this video, fomous double 14 peak summiter Mr. Sanu Sherpa is leading the K2 mountain Expedition and fixing the tent at the Japanese camp.
