And at this point you realize your not just fighting the kraken, your fighting freaking cthulu. The horrifying monster it is, the noises It emits that make people nervous, the eyes of insanity, and it's power to control all around it. The yokai equivalent of cthulu himself. Try beating that vengeful witch demon, alien mafia boss, and darkhon. The battlefield around you is a whitening field of trees and grass where your adventure started as the white petals hail like rain. Carried on with this music, it feels ominous and despairing as if your end is near and it more distorted by this beast as it goes on. Carried in with somewhat of a remix of the main theme playing symbolizing there still being hope as you fight further and further. It almost feels like your a sailor witnessing a sea beast attack your ship during a storm, which is the perfect way to describe this boss. An eerie battle against the a giant squid monster out of control only having one shot to save everyone. Just proves why mckraken is my favorite boss fight in all of yo-kai watch.
You do know that this ALSO plays in Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, when Jibanyan gets taken back to when he was alive and with Amy, where Rin and Kin are trying to make Jibanyan change his mind about saving Amy and becoming a Yokai.
The most climactic part is my favorite part because it shows the strong sense of justice and how the friendship can conquer this evil. Just like me and noko 🍀

It’s a shame that Yokai Watch is a relatively niche franchise amongst other monster collectors (here in the west at least). The OST slaps hard, especially the battle themes. I’d love nothing more than to see some remixes of the Classic Yokai battle theme or the standard boss theme from 3.

I just beat this game recently after years of getting to Mccracken on a previous playthrough and not ever finishing, and boy, was it a stressful one. My team was Mirapo, Espy, Rattelle, Payn, Tengloom, and Venoct. I think I was a little outclassed for the fight since I was running mostly C rank Yo-Kai. I did still beat him first try even though I was essentially running on empty at the end of the fight. Honestly, this game is still so great years after returning, and I'm glad I did.

I have just finished YKW 4 and came back here just to listen this again because the final fights takes places a the same place If yokai watch don't have the Mario and Luigi treatment and didn't get revived, it's amazing to think that the yo-kai watch franchise may be ending at the same place it started, at Mt.Wildwood. 😢 Btw if you're a fan of the franchise and if you can have an emulator (or a modded switch) I recommend you to play YKW 4 ( an english mod exist , it translate all of the story and quests) it's as good as the others games of the franchise !
